Getting back into the car audio game after 20+ years. So much information packed into 18 minutes. I thought my head was going to explode. 🤯
Same! I’ve forgotten more than I remember and I cannot tolerate my 2015 Civic audio anymore. I’ve had clock radios that have sounded better lol
I’m in the exact same position. Want to do my own system but it’s been 30 years since I’ve been involved in the stock so much has changed my heads about to explode.
I'm lusting after the D-5.1300
This channel (Mark) convinced me to buy the d6 1200. Just waiting for delivery now. Can't wait!
I have been watching for a while and love your content. I’ve been wanting to build a system for my car but I not sure what to do with the center channel, how would you go about wiring a center channel? I unplugged the center channel to see how it would sound without it and it definitely makes a difference. This LC.5 is something I’m definitely interested in using but still lost on the center channel. Much love!
Nice about time someone started making products to compete with the Audison ap 8.9bit. I'd still pick the audison at this point however even though its been around for so many years.
Is this better than the jl audio hd900/5?
I forgot how enjoyable this channel's content is. Time to binge builds again lol
I just bought a 5 channel amp for my son's truck. Upgrading his sound system for Christmas. It's a 2009 suburban and I'm replacing the door speakers, front pillar tweeters, factory radio, and adding two 10" Subs with this amp. So I'll be wiring the door speakers to this amp as well as the subs. Never done that before, but the salesman told me it would definately improved sound quality and volume rather than connecting them to the radio only. I guess I'll found out. First sound system I've installed in over 25 years. I've been kind of giddy like a teenager lately when trying to plan it.
Back in the 90's I used audio control crossover for all my installs. I always made friends envious because they would run same amplifiers but couldn't get my sound quality. They couldn't figure out why because it was installed under passenger seat and didn't know it was controlling my amplifiers. Lol
A.C. needs to kick out a 7ch 1600 D series. 100w x6 for 3-way front stage & 1kw sub.
This is a killer amp! Great video you covered everything anyone would wanna know about this amp
Do the tweeters get their own amp? Do they work with the midrange signal from the amp? Im confused. Also, why did you later add the subwoofer channel input? Is it better that way than from the one input signal?
SWELL!
We just wired the remote to the cigarette lighter, cuz it only worked when the car was on. Actually my head unit didn't have a remote output but where theirs a will theirs a way.
Love this channel, seriously. Thank you, I am long overdue for a build and I have used Audio Control before, great products
@@CarAudioFabrication hey a have a question about the high output.. im a lil confused about what it does.. are the factory speakers getting the power from the amp??? Or just getting the same power from the factory?????
@@CarAudioFabrication me and my friend have Honda Accords and we are experiencing some weird stuff with this amp. We are using Inputs 1&2 only and summing. We are pulling off the front door outputs which is full range. If switched to separate obviously you loose output on 3&4 since you're not summing but the 1&2 outputs get twice as loud with much more bass. When summing it's not loud at all and the sound lacks that full warm sound. I'm surprised nobody is talking about it. Your thoughts?
I'm sold... Placing an order for one! Thanks for the video!
Well I was looking at a Rockford Fosgate 5 channel but I think my plans just changed. Awesome rundown- I’m sold
Kinda wish I watched this before I did an old school splurge on amazon 🤣 welp, I'm gonna be pushing 4500 watt rms to a 5000 watt rms 15" orion. I think realistically 300 watt rms would have been fine for me and I'd be $3000 richer. $1000 of which went into pure copper alone 😔 whereas this Audio Control eliminates so much wiring redundancy
What a nice amp. I like sum feature for channels 1 & 2. Audio control knocks it out of the park again.
If you turn down the gain, will the amplifier require less amps from the battery? I drive a hybrid and it has a small accessory battery since the electric motor turns over the engine. 120amps would fry the battery, but this amp would suit my needs perfectly with less power draw.
This amp can run speakers at 2 ohm full load (what the fuses on it are rated for). If you ran your speakers at 4 ohm (which is the most likely case anyhow) it's unlikely to be drawing the full 120 amps. Gain control can technically be turned down to limit power after it's been set correctly.
A solid choice for an all in one amp.
I recently upgraded my car and tried using my previous amp but found out quickly that the start/stop feature on many new cars plays havoc with older amps.
Can’t wait for the D series of this amp!!! I’ve been holding out for a while! Come on audio control!
Am from trinidad n watching your vidoes save me money 😊 and it makes me confident in myself to install car music for the first time I will ..comment again after my success
Do you need to use the crossovers that come with component speakers like the Focal ES 165K2 when using this amp or are the crossover capabilities duplicated by the DSP on this amp?
Hi, I'm looking to buy this amp/dsp but not sure which one to get. I have 3-way components in the front, and coaxial in the rear, and a powered subwoofer that I'm planning to replace in the near future. It seems like I have 9 channels in my car. Should I get the LC.6-1200 or LC.5-1300? Thank you very much for the information!
Mark, Installing the AudioControl LC-5.1300 in my aluminum F-150. Best ground option? Also, it has the B&O Play center channel dash speaker. Do you have a video on how to incorporate this into an amplified system? TIA!
Not sure that I’ll hear anything because this is an old post but I installed an LC 5.1300 in my vehicle the other day it’s a great amp. I took the OEM speakers out. Replaced them with new speakers. I’m still using the factory harness and I have a pack camp pro is the output line converter, my question is when I went to the gains the amplifier allowed me to turn it all the way up without having the light come on any channel. Does this mean that I need a load resistor?
I was waiting for this video 🦾🦾🦾
So you're telling me instead of buying *JL Audio RD900/5* Amplifier and *AudioControl LC7i* LOC I can buy this *LC-5.1300* and get all that same hardware PLUS more features AND save like $50+ dollars in product alone, not counting the extra wiring and such???!!!
So glad I didn't impulse buy my system. Now to wait on a great discount code or some promo.....
Man youre a friggin car audio nerd lol. I started doing installs when i was 19 (im 39) and I thought i knew something. Well come to find out, i did, but there was alot of stuff i had no clue about. 💯💯💯
definitely switching to this for my truck. Easy to power my shallow subs and speakers. Plus get the get space back under my front seats.
I have 2 3-way component speakers (Audison APK 163) for the front and back. I also have a Audison APBX 10 AS2 Prima Subwoofer. What is the best amplifier for this set-up of 12 total speakers and a subwoofer?
I have a JL Audio RD900 5 channel amp . But my speakers sound distorted? Local shop did the installation . What settings would best ?
Current setup
Subwoofer is at 80hz
And
Speakers are at 80hz ???
What would make the speakers produce clean notes and the bass is OK it could be better its a
W6 SUBWOOFER
Front speakers are C5 JL Audio
Rear speakers are c2 jl audio
Thanks....
Hey brother! Great job. Any idea when the DSP version is coming out? Also my new deck doesn’t play CD’s any idea how and where I can find those test tones you were using? Please and thank you
I've been waiting for them as well. "AudioControl D Series 5-channel amplifiers will begin shipping mid-February, 2021"
AudioControl website has a bunch of tones! And I too am anxiously awaiting the D version
I use an app called “Signal Generator”. It allows you to choose between 4 or 5 bands of frequencies choosing any frequency you like at 0db default, but with options of decreasing dB by up to at least 20. I have Car Play so if my phone is plugged in via USB it’ll play like that or you can use aux or Bluetooth if it came down to it.
13:30 I don't get it, are your speakers rated at 100w? As this amp puts out 4x100 @ 4 ohms, and if you're maximizing those channels, shouldn't you in theory be blowing those speakers unless they're rated to take 100w? I'm a noob, help me pls.
Trying to help my son put in a 12" sub that he bought and keep the standard head unit that came with his car. This looks awesome for that..... except for the $900 price tag. Got anything that will work for a LOT less money? ;-)
What Is The Best Way To Connect 4Mids And 2Tweeters? Any Input Would Be Extremely Appreciated
I never got a green light. What does that mean? Plugged in my 3/4 channel (100w RMS 2way kicker 6X9s) and slowly upped the volume and had no issues. Can’t go all the way up as my ears start bleeding at 25/35.
I'm Very Very New To Car Audio How Would This Amp Do With 4 Beyma 6.5 G40 And A 12"Alpine Type R Sub? Thanks Guys
What are the best rca cables for car audio
Would something like this work with the factory sync 3 system in my 2020 Explorer? Would most installers have access to this and know how to install it properly or do I need to look for only a high end place? Does Audio Control have a list of recommend installers? Sorry for all the questions, just not a lot of info online on my vehicle.
It hooks up like any amp. If you go to any reputable installer, they should have no problem installing this amp. The tuning is fairly straight forward and you can follow the instruction in this video to do that yourself if they don't set that properly.
Hey everyone. I need some advice on how to get a good sound in my 4th gen camaro. Some years ago I replaced the casette /12cd player with a double din alpine but I was disappointed with the sound.. I found a little factory amp hidden in the back. I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions??
@@JohnEboyee I'm not sure I understand your comment John . What do you mean
So if I have a amp do I need sub woofers ? All the wiring is installed in my car already and could I just hook up the amp myself if the wiring is there?
Im working on a budget.. lookin for an amp to power 4 door speakers and a dual 8” sub that isnt crazy priced.
Do you think the d-5.1300 is a better amp because of the DSP?
Ever since I bought my first audio control product back in the 80s, the epicenter, I’ve loved their products. Does the remote level control allude to the epicenter where the amp acts as a filter to remove flutter in the sub so they aren’t dancing around with no human audible sound?
Audio Control made the best EQ for car audio back in the day. Their offerings now are even better than back then. Lots of flexibility means you really need to pay attention to what you are doing. Glad we have Mark to guide us. Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
Looking forward for a video of zapco amplifier, love from Delhi, India
I have a2022 GMC Sierra crew cab 6 channel will work on my truck audio control amp?
Am I able to run 4 ohm speakers in the front and rear doors and wire the sub to 2 ohm on a ntx vad 11005 amp and get the extra power to the sub?
Everything was we'll explained loved the video
So do u connect ur speakers to ur amp not ur radio, and the only wires u hook up to ur radio are the remote turn on and the rc cables?
This is one of my favorite car audio channels but audio control is to rich for my blood. you could buy a whole system. speakers, amps and maybe a single sub for the price of this amp
Literally. I got a HU, 2 5ch amps, 4 6×8s, 2 8s, a 15, and all the wiring/distribution for less than this. Maybe even the MDF for the boxes. Don't get me wrong; I'd buy AC if I could afford it, but I'd probably feel like a bit of a tool.
Can i sum front tweeters input and front woofers signal tgt? Then output to all 5 speakers?
so.... could i run 2x10s subs, 4x6.5 and 4x3.5 off this ?
Can you do a Video on A Corvette C7 Update with new Amp And Speakers!
Does this mean I don't need a LOC since it has the speaker level input? 5:14
What is "speaker level signal"? sorry I'm new to English
I have a Pioneer 5 Channel amplifier for past 2 years. Paid only $260 at the time! Had no issue. Running 4-channel 600RMS and one 12 inch sub rated at 500 RMS. I never ran on the maximum. Because I never set gains on the maximum what it can output. But when i crank my sub knob on max all my windows vibrating
Thanks man, I feel like I went to school. I learned a lot.
Where did you get those round black templates?
Can you use only the subwoofer part of a 5 channel amp?
Now just have to wait for this to show up in their employee accommodations list. 😅
There is no BASS? If you don't used subwoofer
this channel has the best video for car audio related stuff, video quality top notch, what I hate is no price mention in the video for any item shown specially audio control stuff, we all know the most important thing is money.
Prices change too much. I'm not going to make a video immediately obsolete. People might watch this in a year and the price may be different. Pretty simple to understand and common for videos.
@@CarAudioFabrication Or you could mention that the price was "$xxx.00 at (insert date here), at the time of filming". Great content as always.
I have a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 and I need help. All the door speakers are not working. The Base speaker sounds bad as well but the tweeters seem fine. Where do I start. The aftermarket here in the USA sucks for this car. I’m in California and have been unable to find some one with the knowledge to repair or replace the system. Can you help?
PLEASE HELP IM SO FRUSTURATED!!!... I have se5800 amp. Can i connect this 5 channel amp if my aftermarket head unit has only one rca pre out?
Hello, honestly I’m very much a newbie but I really need to ask. Got a Toyota SUV that I intend to keep stock AVT HU. Will this Amp. I can be able to drive surround with a total of 10 speakers (components and coaxial all at 20 watts 4 ohms) + dual subs 8” of just somewhere 100 rms or so watts? Thanks much.
Which is better? 2 4ohm subs driven at 400 watts total or 1 2ohm sub driven at 400 watts? Can someone explain? I know adding a speaker is known to give a 3db increase, but so is double the power on one sub. Go Figure
Hey CarAudioFabrication I could really use some help I don't know what amp to get or rather how many Watts I need to run 2 skar audio FSX-10's 200 rms and 2 skar 3.5 super tweeters 150 rms thanks I've been trying to get ahold of skar audio but they dont reply.
Your Disk of tones was : Track 1: 40Hz at -10dB or 40Hz at -5dB or 40Hz at -0dB ?
Track 2: 1kHz at -5dB or 1kHz at -0dB ? Your video are Great. Thank you
Hey dude I've been warching your channel for quite some time but never commented. I've searched for Audio Control in Europe but haven't really found anything.. I have a toyota starlet which had awful speakers and replaced them with a complete audio system full alpine 2 amps sub and component speakers and it sounds almost perfect, I'm searching for a DSP to finish out my build and I will be using noico to insulate sound 2mm and 4mm in the summer. Thank you for everything, through your channel I put together my sound system, matched watts RMS and even put a fuse box apart from the fuse close to the battery! Keep it up (and if you know any good DSPs that are sold in Europe please help!) Sorry for the long comment! (Alpine spr-50c, Swe-1044BR)
Does this work if you are using factory radio with factory amp or do I need an LOC ? I was wanting to just use my front morel components active 4 channels(2 tweeters , 2 6.5 and subwoofer )
So if I were to use a 4 channel amp at 45W RMS per channel, use two channels to run one 50W RMS speakers a piece and bridge two channels to run one 120W sub, it would sound okay? I have a 2 seater that only has 2 front speakers and a small sub from factory and I'm trying to keep this configuration for ease of installation.
To those saying this is expensive; not really. You'd have to run an amp for mids/highs + another separate amp for the subs, plus your LOC, even a cheaper LC2i would still run you over $600, assuming you're using quality amps with true advertised RMS output. This is an extra $50-100 to have it all in one package. Cleaner, and easier to install. This is a nice ass amp. Wish I knew about this sooner. But Audio control makes great products
I currently am running a separate 8 band eq. I am going to purchase a dsp. My question is "am I benefiting any if I use my eq and the dsp or can I take out the eq all together and use the dsp. I have seen videos on how to wire an eq to a dsp but seems kind of pointless if dsp has a 30 band eq on it. BTW love the channel and all the great info and tips you give. Thank Yuo for taking the time covering everything in such detail.
Marc, are u a audio control dealer? If so, i need a matrix line driver and a LC2 i think is what its called. Can i get better deals from u verses using ebay for instance. Also, could u read my question i clarified and reasked please. Thanks man, love ur ch btw, out of anyone in car audio, u make the most sense.
Can I use the amp at 4 ohms on door speakers and 2 ohms on sub
QUESTION:Am running a 150.4 ab skar audio amp with a 500.1d skar audio amp
What battery can power this really good with no issues??
Anyone know a good alpine dsp that has that concert hall reverb. Not an era g320 or 3342 i have both. Cant find anything in the owner manuals referncing this on the newer models.
Is the audio quality of the audio control lc-5.1300 the same quality as JL audio XDv2 700/5
Better settings possibilities and higher power than a HD900/5 or PDX V9. Probably I will never buy a $800 amplifier, but i just like watching your videos anyway. Best regards.
What speakers and subs do you recommend to use with this Amp I have a 2019 f350 crew cab with the basic 4' but I'm upgrading to the Linkswell gen IV thank you nice channel.
I just purchased a beautifull 2004 cadillac cts with a bose system and a stock head unit. Would you recommend this to add more sound to my system? I do have an 8in stock "sub".
What speakers and how many ohms match well with a factory stock unit? My factory head unit has all that I need including bluetooth, usb, and steering wheel controls, I just need to replace the stock speakers. I also have a powered sub.
How can i install a episenter on that specific amp
those audio control amp are insane with options, especially the D6.1200 - is crazy its basically all you need in one package, so cool
Hey Mark, any way you could make a video showing what frequencies AccuBass restores using RTA? Always been curious, but I can't find that info anywhere.
Wish my 14year old Audison would have this clipping diodes and the accury bass would not hurt it but is not a must have. Other wise I actually think it have the same features..
But those clipping/destortion light at truly awesome
Good Evening , can you make a video on 2 amps and a processor for motorcycle. 6.5 and horns upfront. 4 6x9 in bags. Thanks
Hi, I'm very new to this stuff but would the remote power to the amp basically be the ignition power from the stereo?, and if I was only running a sub from the amp could I use the rca from the sub port on the stereo to the amp for input?
This amp is missing a Toslink Fiber Optic input, but I can see where this can be a good option especially with what I assume is a Bluetooth add-on feature if you don't have it already on your headunit.
I like all the info on this video. Thanks a lot . Do you think I can plug two 8” subs out of the subwoofer channel?
Dude! a Bandpass Xover would kick ass on my Inifinty 6.5s! I have vintage Adcom amps but they're underpowered compares to this so I better start doing some overtime at work! This thing kills!
What are some good speakers for this amp?
Bought one tonight for my 91 Supercoupe, great channel And review. Can't wait to get the whole system installed.
Hopefully you can see my comment and answer my question but I had just installed my subs and for some reason my subs sounds louder inside the car rather than outside and I’m tryna to figure out what to do so I can hear it louder outside of the car
Do you know what kind of fuse (the one that you put close to the battery of the car) can i use for kenwood Xr901-5 ?
Can you do a C 7 Corvette , Adding a LC 6
Thanks for tuning in guys! You can purchase the AudioControl LC-5.1300 below!
