You guys recorded this last year on my BIRTHDAY! At the time Irene WAS still alive, but sadly :( she passed away last November at only age 63, What a talent & a loss!
Flashdance was a huge movie when I was a youngin'. This song was all over the place that year. You're making me feel very old by having this be your first time reaction! lol
Oh, I'm feeling old too. I was late teens when "Fame" and "Flashdance" came out. I think "Flashdance" was the first time I saw breakdancing and was shocked at how cool it was. lol
It makes me feel how patheticly ignorant they are to not know about it when they are so old. How can you NOT have heard this amazing song and know the spectacular Irene? My son is 16 and has known of her for years.
She was first seen in the children's show- The Electric Company as part of a kid singing group, Sparkle came to her at 17(1976)and her songs from the movie Fame definitely showcased her talents
Dang, I was born in early 1979 and grew up on this song, among many others, and it's amazing to see people hear it for the first time! 😄 And yes, she is pretty, dances great, she is the full package! 🤣
I love me some Irene Cara so much! Growing up watching her, I was not only amazed by her voice but I was amazed with her beauty. She is definitely something special. Her song ‘out here on my own’ Is my absolute favorite song from her and when I hear it till this day I get goosebumps
