It should not go unnoticed that the twins Ali and Kiani Rahmani had only a few minutes earlier been talking about their mother whom they haven't seen since they were 8 years old. Now they are 17 as Angelina is. Kiani also tells us that she doesn't think she ever will see her mother again.

The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one.

Such a great honor for Angelina to join other Iranian artists to recognize Narges Mohammadi for all her efforts for women's rights in her native Iran. The world should join in a loud chorus for Narges to be released from prison immediately, so she can end her hunger strike. She was a great choice for this years' Nobel Peace Prize.
Since it is the Norwegian Nobel Committee that is responsible for the Nobel Peace Prize and Angelina is part Iranian, it must have been an even greater honor for her to perform at the ceremony. I imagine that it was a very emotional experience for her and her family, especially her grandmother Mery.

What a way to honor Narges Mohammadi, even though it may be YEARS before she will be able to hear this performance or watch the whole ceremony. Beautiful as always to see one glimpse of a bare foot 🙂. And what a beautiful combination of her as-usual stunning - and subtly different than in previous renditions - vocals with this wonderful orchestral arrangement.

Wow, what a live performance this is. I just realize: now it is 10 years ago that Angelina blew all Norwegians (and shortly after many more people) away with her unforgettable rendition of "Gloomy Sunday" as a tiny 7 year old. There she was: totally "in the song", and that has not changed over the years. You can see Angelina is living the song.... I think that is, apart from her unique voice, one of the reasons she makes such an impression on us, the audience. As one of the judges said back in 2013: Angelina, you ARE music..... And Angelina puts it this way: "Music has found me".

The Norwegian radio orchestra lifted the entire setting to an extraordinary experience - this orchestra suits so well with Angelina.

Thank you Boris! The beginning of the song sounds like it came from the movie Ghost from 1990. The instrumentation is very similar! Angelina looked and sounded incredible! I think this is by far her rendition of this song I have seen her do. And to do this for such an important event was awesome. So proud of Angelina!
It IS from the movie ghost. Originally sung by Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, in I believe the 60s. You should listen to that one. She does a lovely job though.

Btw. For those who doesnt know, KORK is an orchestra at a high international level. They àre all of Norway's orchestra, with a very special place in the hearts of music-loving Norwegians. As a media orchestra and with its very versatile repertoire and collaborations (pop, rock, jazz, folk music, even metal), they are probably the orchestra in Norway heard most often - on TV or radio or at a concert somewhere in our elongated country.

Can't agree more. She is far far better with them than anything in LA. She also sounds a lot more like the "old" Angelina. Singing with a lot more restraint, no vocal acrobatics like some of her recent stuff and just letting her magical voice do the work.👏

This was simply gorgeous by both the orchestra and Angelina. Her vibrato is stunningly close to that of The Righteous Brothers Bobby Hatfield on this particular song. She has an incredible ability to honor the song and the performer she admires. AND she still makes the song sound entirely new.

What more can be said about this young lady? What an astounding talent and vocalist! She really has become a legitimate international diva in every way. I've been critical of some of her performances in the past but there is no denying her talent and unique voice. There is no one else like her in the world. Angelina and KORK truly are a match made in Heaven! These are among the very best musicians in Norway, as any good pair of ears can tell. Also, the arrangement is just perfect. Listen to the crescendo at 1:50 and the absolute silence at 3:02 - that is the dynamic range you need for an Angelina performance. Talking about range, her voice has never been richer at the low end, but it is the breath control and sheer confidence from 4:04 onwards when she soars to that final G5 that really stands out to me here. Probably her best performance to date, live on a major stage.
I have to say that in my opinion you are spot on with your comments and I particularily agree with your qualifier - " best performance to date ". She has sung this song many times before but delivery at this event was spectacular.

How would I compare this rendition to Portsmouth? I was at Portsmouth, and I can tell you that no video could/did capture the magnificence of that performance and I suspect the same holds true here. There are a few great artists on this earth and Angelina is certainly one of them and to watch her from our front row seats is so edifying.

Been following her since 2014 when I discovered her on an Got Talent site that did international talent from all over the world and she did Gloomy Sunday.
