What an incredible gift to the world this young lady is. Her ability to touch the heart with her vocals at 8 years old was quite extraordinary. Fast forward 10 years to today, 10 Jan 2024, Angelina will celebrate her 18th birthday, and what an incredible 10 years it has been. It has been a true pleasure to witness the growth of this amazing young artist and I look forward to the next 10 years as she embarks on her musical journey into adulthood.

Yes, then the girl behind her in the red dress put both her hands to her mouth in utter astonishment and knew after that performance who the winner was going to be. poor Las, second place was next best.
Every child was amazing. But....when she opened her mouth it was over. My goodness she is amazing.

Not to take anything away from the other kids, because they all sing better than I can. But, Angelina touches the heart, and is so unique. This is what makes her stand out. She really was born to sing, and touch hearts with her voice. She is great.

When they do talk about Angelina,(who obviously got trough), they said ";- we have never ever heard something like her before. Whenever i se her i just have to smile ".

Yes, an interesting point is, when the judges said "all the rest not mentioned, went on to the finals", Angelina was visibly relieved. She, the best of them all, wasnt sure she would proceed (or at least, admitted to proceed).

I have watched AND listened to this performance by Angelina many times without commenting, but now I feel compelled to do so.
I, quite simply, am astounded at the maturity of this cute ,sweet, diminutive seven year old Diva, with her soft, breathy voice singing
acapella, in perfect pitch AND with metronomic timing.....how on earth is it humanly possible......Bravo, Angelina!

Angelina is the best and greatest singer ever. There is no one like her. She's very special.
As many times as I have watched this performance, I still tear up the minute she starts singing. I remember the first time I watched Angelina sing this. After I was done sobbing my brains out, I tried to think of who I could call to share it with. I wanted to tell everyone about her. What I soon realized was, I didn't have that many friends, and the ones I did have did not share my love and interest in music. My mother had an operatic quality voice. She could also sight read and play the piano. She was the secretary and chief accompanist for the elementary school I attended and also could be pressed in to service at our church. She could come in cold and play anything even if she had never seen or heard it before. Me, I got none of that in the old DNA pool. I can play guitar as long as it is in one of three keys I can play, and if you don't stings buzzing and the all to often 'dead' strings.
Sorry about the ramble but the two things I did get was, a very good ear and the ability to see and hear talent. I can just tell when somebody has 'it'. Angelina had 'it'. I knew it right away. it has been exciting to watch it all unfold as time has gone on. God Bless you, 'Our Angel'!!

david i really know what u have been through most of my friends also dont get it when i showed and told them of my granddaughter by hearth - they say yes she is good but Not like me - when i heard about Merys Condition and surgery i was hearthbroken for all of the family and can so relieved that it seems to be ok right know - her singing is bonding with a spezial gene in mostly middleaged men and of course a Lot of other Parts of humanity - god bless her

Angelina often dresses in white. I imagine her inner light glows like the other angels. The other contestants might find it hard to hate her. She's a good role model for young people.💚

I don't speak a word of Norweigian, and there are no subtitles. but their facial expressions say it all, they were floored. Even the silence when she finishes just adds to the impact she left on the room.
For the number of times, I've watched her sing, you'd think by now I'd stop being surprised every time she opens her mouth.

To my knowledge, nobody has ever come forward to claim they coached Angelina. There are no singers or musicians in her immediate family. She did attend an after-school music programme in Oslo but the only comment I've ever seen quoted from them is that there was nothing they could teach her about singing! Since she was signed and moved to Los Angeles, we've heard nothing further about coaching. There is one video clip of her doing a physical warm up in a dance studio at an early age and another of her leading her musicians in a backstage voice warm up, but that's mostly laughing. In the absence of any information to the contrary, most fans believe she taught herself vocal technique through listening to and copying famous jazz singers she found on UA-cam. She did learn to play piano and perhaps other instruments at school, possibly including reading and writing notation, composition and music theory, but that's all speculation. She is seen playing piano in several videos, including her remarkable cover of Chris isaak's 'Wicked Game'. Maybe when she turns 18 and gives her first in-depth interview, she may fill in these gaps herself! R 🇦🇺

I really love it when Angelina is singing and all the other participants in the background are all like having a long faces..lol. They knew right there the competition is over. And in the moment of elimination all the contestants knew that it's the end of the road for them once they are seperated into two groups and Angelina wasn't in their group. Lol. Love that epic moment.😅

It must have been difficult for the judges to pretend to continue with the selection, when after her song they knew the show could end there.

I did not understand a single word of judges. But their faces said it all. They were mesmerized. And they waited for her to sing some more. I have to stop watching now or I'll be up till morning (again), crying my heart out (again)

Whenever I watch this the first thing I notice is the girl directly behind Angelina in the red dress the first line of the song you can see she looks and almost Smiles cuz it's so good but immediately afterwards you could see the fear in her face as she starts looking inside to side realizing she picked the wrong year

In the suggestions beneath the video was Angelina's performance of the song on AGT so I'm like oh what a cool choice I got to check this out. I've always loved female vocalists with a deeper voice like Sarah or Fiona Apple that type so I pressed the video and of course I am immediately Blown Away and have to check this kid out so the next thing I see is her ngt performance video I watch her sing with me Sunday at 7 years old and I'm like wow then this performance comes on I swear to you I had tears it was so hauntingly beautiful this was barely a month ago and I probably watched 500 different videos of her singing by now the judge at the end of Norway's Got Talent got it perfect when she said to Angelina have a gift that you have to share with the world. You don't need to worry about doing anything else.

Don't know about you, but if I can remember that far back; when I was Seven, I was struggling to memorize the Times Tables, let alone memorize Billy Holiday Classic Songs and then sing them with such confidence and talent. Unreal!

I don’t think the other contestants, because they’re so young, can fathom fully what Angelina is doing. The cracks in her voice, the trailing of some notes. People say their faces are long because they’re going to lose but most seem vacant. Who at that age could fathom Pure soulful broken Billie Holliday? Only Angelina

As I listen I close my eyes and listen to a beautiful adult at the height of their powers and then open them to a small child singing! How does she produce that voice it is magic!
O.K. I love Angelina Jordan and have loved her for years now. As an American, I hear and experience plenty of
Spanish/Mexican, French, Italian, Chinese, and to a lesser extent, Polish and German language in print and
spoken forms. We get very little exposure to the Norwegian language and culture. I wish someone would
add translations to this and other Norwegian videos. Not just what the judges are saying, but what the
auditioning children are saying. I would love to see a translation of what they are singing. Many of us would
be grateful . We want to learn more about the language and the culture of your country. Just say'n.
A translation is now available in the comment section. And if you want to learn more of the language, you surely can pick up many words by just being aware of a few general differences between Norwegian and English.
A thousand years ago the two languages were so close to another that people in England and in Scandinavia could easily communicate. But the separation of the languages were growing, English were influenced by French, and Norwegian picked up a vast amount of German words. But still... Teka for instance the introduction sentence by AJ: "Jeg hadde tenkt å synge "I am a fool to ... "
"Jeg" - In the 14th century many initial wovels got a j-sound in front: help - hjelp; helm - hjelm; ek - jek, while English did not. On the other hand English developed in other directions. Thus the common "ek" in Norway ended up as "jeg", while the English version abandoned the consonant and ended with "e" - which eventually was transformed to "i". In many parts of Norway "ek" became "eg" and several places to "e", "æ" or even "i" (pronounced as English "ee"). (The boy singing in the beginning uses the e-form ("Unnskyld hvis "e" gjorde det ekstra dårlig ..")) So: - "jeg" = "I"
"hadde" is of course the same as "had". Norwegian has generally kept the spoken "e" at the end of many words where English has it cut off.
"tenkt" - Use your languistic imagination and you will clearly see that the English equivalent is "think" = Norwegian "tenke". English has kept the old th-sounds while Norwegian has them changed to "t" or "d". Thus think = tenke (with the "e" in the end), that = det, those = disse, thou = du, them = dem, thick = tykk ... Make allowance for the wovels to change a bit, and many words will be easy to recognize. "tenkt" is a conjugation equivalent to "thought" ("thinked")
"å" marks the infinitive of the verb similar to the English "to"
"synge" - change the wovel, cut the final "e" and you will end up with "sing"
Some other words: vil = will, skal = shall; hus = house; gå = go; ut = out; gi = give; ta =take; føle = feel; følte = felt; ja = yes (yeah); nei = no (nay); ord = word; er = is/are; var = was/were; vindu = window ; danse = dance; fra = from, vi = we; alle = all - - -
Get used to these small changes, and you may have a great experience of understanding more than you could imagine without actually studying the language. Good luck!

Great to get the Notification for the full version of this - even though it is missing the "time and time again... you ... etc sequence, all these years later .. Loved it back then, still love it here now. Btw, the missing part? Angelina really dug deep to sing that sequence, as the expression on her face proved, and her greatness was never in doubt from then.
