Jane Goodall, renowned ethologist and conservationist, shares a message to global leaders in support of a September 27, 2021 symposium co-hosted by H. E. Per Olsson Fridh, Minister for Development Cooperation of Sweden, and Preventing Pandemics at the Source, an international coalition of scientists, conservationists, and development and public health experts. The symposium--a UN General Assembly side event--spotlighted the urgent need for immediate investment in proven measures to prevent zoonotic disease spillover from animals to humans: ecosystem conservation, the elimination of wild and live animal trade, increased biosecurity, and community health measures.
