Yes, you can push the prime pump and find the leak in the water separator. At least I found mine that way. My truck would just quit on the highway and that’s all it was. It wasn’t screwed in all the way. But hey, brother, you do what you do. You’re helping us out! Screw the haters bro!

My fuel gauge would read empty with a half tank of fuel sometimes, then driving down the road the change fuel filter light came on, then it reduced power. I pulled over and engine died and want start back. Any ideas on where to start? Just change fuel filter, so not sure on that yet.
So when I first deleted my dpf and Egr the you could hear the turbo when you started it. Now the exhaust sounds like a gas burner and the turbo takes a few seconds to spool up. No codes.no boost leaks.

I’m working on a 2013 Express 3500 ambulance with the 6.6 LML and this one actually has a lift pump on the frame rail, they call it the fuel condition module but it doesn’t have a hand prime like the other ones. We have complaint of fuel leak and extended crank but once it’s running it fires right back up. How can I pressurize fuel system to look for leak?
I have an 05 lly crank but no start I changed the fuel filter header and filter and still nothing, I’m loosing prime, maybe this could be the issue? Thanks

I have a 2011 GMC Duramax just put a brand new long block in it I’m having the same problem with air in my system I have put a new vacuum pump a dealer fuel filter I have pressurized the whole system from the quick connect replaced the sending unit in the tank have you ever had problems with the leaking at the quick connect
I have found leaks all over the place place.. have you tried to isolate where the leak is coming from.. in sections.. I will start at the fuel filter housing... Do you have anything to draw vacuum and vacuum gauge... If not...you can also try.. putting air in the system.. no more than 10psi...and if you find a leak.. fix it...or install a fass pump...why you replace the engine..what was wrong..you don't want to install a fass pump if your having hp issues.. you can also fill up a bucket with diesel and tie-in before or after the fuel filter.. this will eliminate the tank.. then you know you have a problem before or after the fuel filter...
Helpppppppppp 06 gmc Savana 3500… Crank/No start.. I found the lift pump on the rail, that when it comes on, you can hear a lot of air or gurgling in the fuel tank! The truck might run for about 10-15 seconds, then stall….
That works great on actuall visuall leaks... and leak you find putting pressure on the system are like day and night.. fuel everywhere....you pressurize the system over 15psi.. and you can seal the original leak..(once is go to vacuum draw it will start leaking again) but i guess I should have explained that in the video... Hey bud I have a LML was driving fine turn it off and would not start. Low fuel rail pressure code and map sensor code. Started up with starting fluid and runs all day no misfire but won’t start up unless you use starting fluid. Pump was replace no shavings fuel filter replace, plunger replace and does the same.

I have a 2013 Duramax 6 6, left the house the other day kind of got on it hard so went about a mile-and-a-half ,come to a stop sign it died just like it ran out of fuel have not been able to get it to start since change fuel filter primed it still not starting any ideas.

Hey bro. I’m having the same problem I replaced the cp4 on a 2015 Sierra 2500HD LML same engine you have on the video this truck starts just with starting fluid, you can drive it all day long and runs and drives perfect, but when you shut it off it won’t start back up.
Why u replace the cp4 . What was the original problem of the truck.. do you have a way to check high pressure.. are you getting any air out of relief nut on the filter when you turn it off.. if your using staring fluid...most likely your fuel injectors are shot.. depending on how long you been using ether.. if no air.. check ur fuel return lines.. how much fuel is coming out during cranking..
I replaced the cp4 because the truck shut off on the road, So first thing I did was to check the fuel pressure regulator I found metal shaving, I replaced the cp4 clean the lines, clean the fuel tank, installed new OEM fuel filter, and now Im stuck with this problem it starts with long crank just in the morning you can do it twice after that It won’t start back up. Do you think I have bad injectors?
@@nehemiasaldana2554 i'm positive You do.. You should have replaced the entire fuel system at once.. if you leave any shaving what so ever.. you will be doing the exact same thing over again.... There's no way to clean everything perfect.. unless you disassemble every single little component..

Might as well replace everything.. you will spend a little more but saves you the headache from doing it again.. i tried cleaning the fuel system and there's always a lil shaving left that can scratch the hp pump again over time.. and in time you'll have an other failure down the road.. I'm willing to bet your new pump is already scratch up.. you have to take time flushing out the fuel system.. the shaving will go threw the fuel filter..
My neighbor has a 08 2500 6.6 and it wouldn't start for him, I was checking it out and looking over the computer with my scan tool, and I was cranking on it and happened to pump the gas pedal and it fired right up. Fuel pressure looked good didn't see any leaks when I was quickly looking over it last night, but just seemed odd that pumping the pedal got it to start? I shut the truck off waited a minute and tried starting it again and it fired right up every time without touching the pedal. Any ideas as to what might be going on?

I did more digging into it this past weekend and just could NOT get it to repeat the symptoms that he was experiencing, wiggled wiring, took it for a test drive, nothing lol. He also stated that what can happen is he will start it, drive about 20 30 feet and it'll shut off too, kinda thinking maybe fuel related? But pressures seemed to checked out, I'm no expert but idle its about 4000 5000psi and under full throttle I'm seeing 24000 PSI and couldn't find any leaks. With how sporadic these symptoms are I'm almost willing to bet its an electrical issue. If yall were in ATX I'd send him over to yall!

I went to start it again and it would just crank like if it wasn't getting any fuel could it be something electric, or could it be an as air leak in the fuel system this shit has never happened to me before I also changed the fuel filter.

Didn't fix my hard start when hott but that line was pretty rough mine will start in the morning it is an extended crank but it won't start after the block is warm truck won't start without starting fluid runs fine I have a airdog lift pump and fuel filter delete dic shows change fuel filter when starting no clue what's going on been driving 3+years and thousands of miles this way even pulling trailers no problem low rail pressure engine light comes and goes
I supposed that you can’t fill the system with smoke because the air can vaporize the diesel . But man you know your stuff, can you please make a video for doing a return flow test an how to set it up. I want to learn how to do an injector an pump flow return test to see if there return excessive amounts. Also nobody shows how to set up a vacuum test to see the vacuum on the Duramax suction side of its subsystem. Ok.. I've got a 2011 2500 HD duramax.. have power to everything but when I try to crank it kills power and won't start.. and it acts up when I use the key fob to unlock acting like it's got no power.. all dash lights come on until I try to crank then I just get glow light and sometimes a random other light.. any ideas? Can't work without my truck, need help!!
Make sure I mean really sure all your terminals are clean and connect... And make sure you got over 12 volts on each connection at batteries.. and check your grounds as well.. even though the terminal loot good at a glance. I seen alot of new terminals look good..

Can you see live data... Could and couldn't.. do you have air in the lines.. coming out your bleeder on the filter housing...if not...the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure pump...
Replaced FPR on pump no more code but still same result. Cranks and wants to start but looses prime at fuel bowl. Live data on my snap on solus says desired fuel rail pressure 41.62 (MPa). When I Crank it is goes to 60.00(MPa). I appreciate all your help and time if you can help I would be grateful thanks
It's not fuel related... Cam you read cam and crank rpms... Any codes after long crank.. and what was the original problem...what happened to the truck that stop working..m

Hey boss I just watched your video, I got a 06 gmc Sierra classic 3500 with the 6.6 , I changed the fuel prime housing n still got same problem i can prime it 80 times and won't lift fuel, started till it cranks run only at 30 mph check the prime housing and it'll be all the way sucked down, I don't know what else to do ,I dropped the thank cleaned, can u please help?
So your not pulling fuel...you can try bypassing the tank... You can get a 5 gallon bucket with diesel fuel and connect it straight to the fuel filter.. so you mostly have a problem from the filter housing back to fuel tank..

Sounds like you need to clear and start fresh...those are all codes that you had to disconnect while working on the truck...you probably cycle the key when everything was disconnected...or didn't remove the batterys.. what's are your fuel pressure reading

Sounds like an air leak.. just like I'm explaining here.. and also might have an injector stuck open.. not letting you build high pressure...

The pedal has nothing to do with it.... Diesel a lil different than gas engines... But perhaps the intake throttle was stuck closed

Ya sounds electric.. but pressure is right on.. but the engine harness on all duramax are shit.. it's a common problem..

I went to start it again and it would just crank like if it wasn't getting any fuel could it be something electric, or could it be an as air leak in the fuel system this shit has never happened to me before I also changed the fuel filter.

Thank you I'm pretty sure mine is leaking under the EGR been driving me crazy trying to figure out what's happening I've replace the fpr on the rail and the vacuum sensor now I will search these hoses the one you pointed out looks like mine it cracked fingers crossed it'll fix it I'll let you know got a cash app by chance?
What year is your truck buddy? I have an 05 and it’s crank but no start I changed the fuel filter header and filter and nothing.

Didn't fix my hard start when hott but that line was pretty rough mine will start in the morning it is an extended crank but it won't start after the block is warm truck won't start without starting fluid runs fine I have a airdog lift pump and fuel filter delete dic shows change fuel filter when starting no clue what's going on been driving 3+years and thousands of miles this way even pulling trailers no problem low rail pressure engine light comes and goes
I supposed that you can’t fill the system with smoke because the air can vaporize the diesel . But man you know your stuff, can you please make a video for doing a return flow test an how to set it up. I want to learn how to do an injector an pump flow return test to see if there return excessive amounts. Also nobody shows how to set up a vacuum test to see the vacuum on the Duramax suction side of its subsystem. Can you please make those videos an the people that are talking mess , how ungrateful of them!! I’m thankful for everything I can learn as I’m studying everything from diesel I bought a book after finding out what book the college students use to learn myself exactly what there learning but way more in-depth cause they can learn so much but 10’s of thousands of details are in the book that they don’t learn. You can’t master diesel with all the system an variations they have with just minimum classroom time. It’s not enough . So thank you for everything your teaching an yes I’ve subscribed. I have near 200 videos that I’ve made a library dedicated to diesels for my own studying when I’m not reading. But videos help give visual understanding an clarity. I've got a 2011 2500 HD duramax.. have power to everything but when I try to crank it kills power and won't start.. and it acts up when I use the key fob to unlock acting like it's got no power.. all dash lights come on until I try to crank then I just get glow light and sometimes a random other light.. any ideas? Can't work without my truck, need help!!
Make sure I mean really sure all your terminals are clean and connect... And make sure you got over 12 volts on each connection at batteries.. and check your grounds as well.. even though the terminal loot good at a glance. I seen alot of new terminals look good..
@@BackyardDieselz ok I cleaned all connections I could find and get my fingers to.. but now I have no power at all batteries are on charger now as they only read 4 on the meter.. even with jumper cables hooked up there's no power any where.. HELP ME PLEASE..

Something is ground out.. a main cable.. check hot cables to see if any are gounded..
@@BackyardDieselz had them unhooked while charging.. andnafter a full charge cycle their only reading 10.5 and the other is at 9..

2007.5 LMM cranks but no start. I pump primer and it wants to start but doesn't. Has a P0090 code for FPR would that be my issues?
Can you see live data... Could and couldn't.. do you have air in the lines.. coming out your bleeder on the filter housing...if not...the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure pump...
Replaced FPR on pump no more code but still same result. Cranks and wants to start but looses prime at fuel bowl. Live data on my snap on solus says desired fuel rail pressure 41.62 (MPa). When I Crank it is goes to 60.00(MPa). I appreciate all your help and time if you can help I would be grateful thanks
It's not fuel related... Cam you read cam and crank rpms... Any codes after long crank.. and what was the original problem...what happened to the truck that stop working..m

Hey boss I just watched your video, I got a 06 gmc Sierra classic 3500 with the 6.6 , I changed the fuel prime housing n still got same problem i can prime it 80 times and won't lift fuel, started till it cranks run only at 30 mph check the prime housing and it'll be all the way sucked down, I don't know what else to do ,I dropped the thank cleaned, can u please help?
So your not pulling fuel...you can try bypassing the tank... You can get a 5 gallon bucket with diesel fuel and connect it straight to the fuel filter.. so you mostly have a problem from the filter housing back to fuel tank..

Sounds like you need to clear and start fresh...those are all codes that you had to disconnect while working on the truck...you probably cycle the key when everything was disconnected...or didn't remove the batterys.. what's are your fuel pressure reading

Hey bro I have a 2005 duramax and I changed all the injectors and ran great for a few days but I came home after work and I turned off the engine and did not want to start and still don't. It blows my mind I don't get it . And fuck the hater shit talkers . And when its was running it sounded like it had a exhaust leak . 🤔 can you suggest something señor. gracias
