      I was just thinking this .. I was like WOW! Look at them go in the firing order
      So cool
      (I’m a die hard turbo guy but this car really grabbed my attention)

      @@geraldgoodiii6993 for sure. I’m old school lol. Roots blowers…
      Mainly because there’s nothing like instant torque. It’s literally like a light switch. No need for a big stall converter. No need for a 2 step lol. Just whack it and hang on. Any gear, any rpm, any mph lol. Up in smoke, and to the chip lol. Take care 👍

    I recall Rhere-Morrison from the old days, portable building behind a parts store.
    Lee Shepherd had a baaad-Chevy II, green wagon.
    Humble then & now w/o Buddy & Lee😢

    It is awesome to see the detail the guys at FuelTech exercise when a customer brings their cars to them for tuning. No step is minimized or overlooked.

    It is also cool as hell to see whomever crawls behind the wheel of a car on the FuelTech dyno 'SUIT UP'. Apparently Luiz or Anderson have seen a major failure during a dyno pull at some point in their careers and they want to make sure EVERY STEP to do their best ensuring SAFETY is followed. That is SMART business.

    I’ve been blessed with getting to visit Chuck Fords shop in Grant, Alabama back when he was still crew chief for the Gotham City 33’ Willys “with incredible airbrushing work all over it” blown nitro pro mod owned and driven by Mike Ashley. Chuck Ford is one of those gurus who you wouldn’t expect to be so dang good at making cars go so fast. Kinda quiet probably because he’s thinking about ways to make the blower work better instead of listening to this overly excited 20 year old and his questions but is too nice to tell me to buzz off. The woman of his immediate family are all Holiness church members or if not then a similar denomination..who are very religious ,even shun radios in their personal cars and use the space after removal and some simple modifications as a Bible storage space , wear their hair a specific way up in a bun, and only wear simple full length usually denim dresses.. they run the office and are kind of a little different sight than you normally see at a hot rod builders shop but seem like nice people. Nowadays if things haven’t changed over the last few years he is just building blowers that are highly sought after and other R&D projects. His shop was probably the most impressive thing of all. It’s a thing of beauty to a motor head. It’s big and as clean as an ICU room. At the time the big Gotham City racing, extremely fancy 18 wheeler/ camper/ race car hauler just like you see top fuel teams with was parked along one side of the shop. Basically it was a purpose built side “shed” for a lack of a better words.. for parking the rig..with a roll up door that opened into the shop space right where the trailers main entrance was to the tool room in it. Then one end of the shop had a few CNC machines and other machining tools.. then a dedicated space for welding and fabrication equipment… one wall had a countertop work bench area with tools perfectly positioned on the wall in front of you.. and then the race car itself kinda on the opposite end with 20 plus feet in every direction of the car just open space. Think lots of open space. Then another pro mod car that wasn’t involved with that team parked kinda in the corner. It’s been years (around 2003 or 04) so I’m forgetting cool things about the shop I’m sure and know it had an office but can’t remember where. Anyway Chuck is a great guy, and was almost a mythical legend in the local drag racing scene before he was a championship winning crew chief. And without a doubt has a spectacular shop that absolutely blew his old shop near Guntersville away but that old shop still had the pleasure of having his old sign that said “Home of the first 3 second door slammer” hanging above the office entrance door.

    With turbos and Pro chargers…why screw around with giggle gas??

    • @thomasdaddio741
      @thomasdaddio741 Рік тому +2

      Show me a 5.3 bore high compression 800+ cubic inch engine that will make that much power with a pro charger or turbo. Every racer who gets sick of spinning off belts on a procharger or blowing the light with the unpredictability of the amount of boost it takes to accomplish wins in this class always switches to the same 5+ bore brodix with nitrous

    • @corystansbury
      @corystansbury Рік тому

      @@thomasdaddio741 Presumably you wouldn't build a high compression engine with boost. But 3100 hub HP with hair dryers on 800+ inches would be pretty easy (that's low boost). Wouldn't be class legal, but that's not the question you posed.

    Is Reher Morrison Steve Morrisons sister?

    • @KimiWallrus
      @KimiWallrus Рік тому

      Steve Morrison is more related to Jim then Reher. Don’t EVER use Steve Morris and are Reher Morrison in the same convo. One is a you tube queen and one builds race engines that people copy instead of copying something that works(LS) and charging drug prices.

    @1:58 the comment,,"if I'd a known I was gonna live this long I'd a taken a whole lot better care a myself,," I'm 76 and still going,, when I heard that comment I thought,, "WOW there's no truer statement I've ever heard than that!" My guess,, just about every male (and likely a few females) can say the very same. I worked concrete construction - primarily flatwork - for almost 63 years (my Dad owned a masonry contracting business. I started working for him when I was 13 most weekends, holidays and every summer during school years) and now I'm paying the price working the trade placed on this tired old body. No complaints mind you,, it kept my 5 children, my Wife and I living a very good life BUT now that I'm in my twilight years, I look back and wonder what could have been had I went to school and found a different way to make money. Ohh well,, such is life eh 🙂👍👍
