That’s Mark Micke. He is using an entirely new method of boost control. He doesn’t use any wastegates on the exhaust side. He set the all time record for a door car ET in testing earlier this week. It seems to be working pretty well.
So they are running in outlaw spec but the prochargers and screw blowers are limited? I know screwblown big tyre cars was doing 3,40s in the 8th a long time again and the current RVW record is a procharger car so I guess those combos are restricted?
If it was truly outlaw rules the screw blower would run over all of them This wasn’t outlaw rules. It just wasn’t nhra rules limiting them on boost and turbo size
You would think Scott Lang would've let Turbo Todd build boost and light the bottom stage bulb before diving in and staging it up. But when the other guy is faster and out mile an hours you on the big end you do what you got to do to win.
Part of racing 🤷🏻♂️ both lit the top bulb Scott rolled in Todd couldn’t get to the line in 7 seconds. Your opponent shouldn’t have to let you build boost and stage first.
Yes, it rained after the quarter finals. The prize money was split between the 4 remaining drivers, they will race for the trophies at the US Street Nationals at Bradenton in January.

Outlaw rulebook, turbo cars are naturally the fastest setup top end but NHRA trim forces them to use 88's and add 150lbs

Scott had nothing to do with it. Both lit the top bulb, Scott rolled in, Todd had 7 seconds but the car wouldn’t bump
