@@lukeskywalker1666 Stock 435d is not that fast. Stage 1 makes a huge difference, specially with xHP map combined. Your 140i can not beat the 800NM of torque.
@@Scott-mv1fk torque is not bhp, my m140i would beat that smoke train in reverse, all depends what u want u want a car with good pull then torque if u want a car to be fast it’s BHP, if torque was the case then every sports car would be derailed by torque power and not bhp
@@lukeskywalker1666 You don't seem to uderstand that you need torque and revs to have power. BHP is just a measurement of the maximum power at a certain rpm. The car with the highest torque over all revs is faster, because it producer more average power. Peakpower is not very interesting, thats more a marketing thing. So yes, bhp makes speed, but torque makes bhp and acceleration. Btw, i have owned a 335d and a 335i at the same time (business and private) and I can asure you the stage 1 335d (360hp) was MUCH faster than the 335i that was tuned to approx 400hp.
@@Scott-mv1fk wrong again, bhp more horses the faster the engine works, torque is more pull, hence why coaches and vans run on diesel cos they have strong pull doesn’t mean the engines faster, simple maths just google it, torque alright to have but if u want speed it’s all about break horse power how many horses u got running under the bonnet simple maths
On NVM website they say ECU stage 1 and gearbox map, CSF intercooler and Pipercross panel filter 373BHP from stock power of 293BHP for the 335D but stage 2 with the same mods with Decat Downpipe 393BHP from stock power of 308BHP. Why is there 15BHP difference in the stock values from the same engine? Does this mean that the Decat only adds 5BHP?
Got a 435d msport. Stage 2. Mtec cooler, pipercross filter, and decat with quad pipes. Decent map @400 bhp and gearbox map. I bought it out a salvage yard with fucked bumper n lights. 64k on clock. 16 plate for £5500 and spent 2k repairing it lol. The thing is an absolute beast of a car for £7500. And holds its own with M4s. Absolutely love these BM diesels. Folk used to laugh if you brought a diesel to a car cruise until they gained a lot of respect for inhalating 80% of the moded petrol hot hatches at cruises and still returns 34 mpg!!
@lukeskywalker1666 that's absolute bollocks. Unless you have both of em youl know. The M4 is only 425 bhp and a feeble 400 lb ft torque. A stage 2 tuned 8 speed 435d can get to 440 bhp with a ridiculous 600+ lb torque..... it literally weighs the same, has similar bhp but 200 lb ft of torque more... so it's then all down to the gearing. And if the 8 speed zf slush box has been tuned for shifting then it's game over M4. Unless it's remapped too... but even still the mapped M4s ain't all that much faster unless they are hybrid turbo set up and pushing more than 600bhp is the only time they will get the torque levels remotely close to the 600 lbs ft that the 35ds put out. Look em up or just go get one and race em yourself. There's not that many cars that put put 600 lb ft of torque mate... a rolls Royce cullinan or a big old school v8 even struggle to hit those levels. And if u you about racing youl know just how important torque is in racing, much more than bhp. Especially for in gear acceleration pr rolling races. Realistically what you would be doing when out and about. As your hardly gonna be straight line racing from 0 - 100mph in public easily... M4s are geared differently to utilise the fact it doesn't have as much torque and geared for a bigger top speed too... but they are very comparable to eachother in terms of direct performance. The M4 obviously have a nicer soundtrack, look more aggressive and have a better feel but cost 3 times the prices and drink 3 times as much juice! A 35d you can easily use as an every day smoker no problem at all.
@@rustybaws5313 the old m4a stock are 444bhp but dyno around 470bhp, then u just buy a downpipe, MHD stage 2 license for about 300 quid and do XHP3 gearbox tune on the m4 ur pushing around 580bhp, it’s curtains for the cheap diesel, plus the old m4s are very cheap, look way better and way better handling, either ways I have m140i stage 2 with high pressure fuel pump and XHP3 Zf map around 500bhp left one of these 435d on the M1 about 8 car lengths
@@lukeskywalker1666 Pointless. A 435d can be tuned to 520bhp and 900 NM of torque, and xHP also has a stage 3 map for the diesel that unlocks the torque even at lower revs. It all depends on the cost you are willing to put into it. In an every day drive the 35d (stage 1 tuned) is faster than a stock M4. Why? Because more torque and the fact that the gearbox is always on the sweetspot. More torque means that the power comes in earlier and a greater avarage power delivery. If you do not want to be supprised by an 35d or 40d you should always drive the M3/M4 at 6000 rpm. Nobody does that. And by the way, petrol bhp and diesel bhp are not one on one comparable. A 400bhp diesel shall surely outperform any 500bhp petrol car. Those are maximum power levels, not average power levels. By design a diesel has a greater average power delivery across the rmp bandwith. My M550D with 470bhp/850NM and xHP map was faster than an Ferarri 458 (570bhp/540NM).
@@Scott-mv1fk yea maybe faster till about 40 mph then the petrol would faceroll ur car/ torque is not bhp, a Ford diesel van has a lot of torque doesn’t mean it’s fast, diesels are absolute garbage cars that run on vegetable oil/ torque more power on the pull/ horsepower = faster engine more horses the faster the engine works, learn simple maths bro

Bloodclart gas out respect.
Holds it down with m4a maybe off the light after 40mph m4 even stock m4 would pull about 8 car lengths
The only issue with these beasts are the turbos. bloody silences the diesel
How far are you going with this build? I have a 550hp 335d here in the states. I can get you a list of mods to do. : )
What’s the list? N57?
M57 dual hpfp hybrid turbos wagner evo3 and a few other goodies.@@DWA7N3
wish we had the Xdrive over here traction is def an issue. but 7.15 100-200 is pretty good for a car getting north of 35 mpg.@@DWA7N3
any suspension mods to stop the floaty ride?
Saw you on car wow, great videos brother
Great to see you on carwow again bro your Porsche is seriously fast keep up the good work Jamie
Brakeboost harder, everything off and 2cond gear 😬 works great for me in the e91 380hp 800nm
What an amazing daily
What oil would you run in the 335d from manol
Heya mate do you have a link for that Race Logic you are using I’m interested in buying one thanks
Very Nice! I wonder what you could get out of a 440d G Series
Would love to race this in my 330d touring, just had a hybrid turbo fitted now 422hp & 840nm, more to come, love a fast diesel! Lovely daily though, would be good to see if you can break 500hp with it! I used a ditupa HPFP & exhaust manifold. Done 3,8s to 60 but not launched it yet
Love to race ur 330d touring I got stage 2 m140i with high pressure fuel pump and xhp3 gearbox map just under 500bhp
@@lukeskywalker1666 That'd be good, but It's obvious what'd happen, I'd smash you on a drag & you'd get me on a roll, well depending how close to 500hp you are? I'll be over 450hp with my new inlet & getting close to 1000nm. Xdrive brutal off a launch, although I'm trying not to send my car to the moon it's my daily, I turned Xhp down to stage 2 for that reason stage 3 a little harsh, under 3.5s to 60 now still without launch, but it'll do that in most weather 😁
@@chrisberesford3879 only way ur getting over 450 is with hybrid turbo, my cars all stock internals pushing 500bhp, once I get hybrid turbo and meth, be over 700bhp, I got XHP3 suits it perfect, the b58 is just another league compared to the diesel engine mate different gravy tbh
@@lukeskywalker1666 yep but this vid is about fast diesel daily's! 🤣 I smash 140's on a regular basis because they think oh it's just a diesel 🤣One has beaten me & it was a hybrid with 660hp, that was on a roll to where the 40i comes into it's own, from a launch it has to get it perfect where i just have to plat it. 700hp with a hybrid, then u need engine internals plus a better gearbox the standard 40i gearbox doesn't handle it well. Totally different cars too, mine will cruise the country carrying me & 200kg of tools around & still smash most cars plus return 30+mpg and do 30k+ miles/year. B58 had plenty of development due to the supra etc so cheap parts, the n57 diesel can also reach 1000hp with the right set-up, not that you'd want to daily it! 🤣Different cars for different reasons, 40i a small racer car, epic fun to drive, I love my xdrive I can just smash the throttle & I'm off with barely no slip plus the torque is brutal! My mates 140i stage 1+ is all over the place, the m240i Xdrive will be in a different league that's the b58 I'd buy if i buy one! 🤞you got dragy? 👍
@@lukeskywalker1666 also fastest 30d on dragy 2.9s 0-100kph, fastest m140i is 2.1s (tom wrigley performance) Xdrive also! 2.5s is the closest without xdrive on the 40i so not the massive difference you think, just not that many people properly tune the 3l diesel's, 8.6 quarter mile, but without xdrive next quickest one is 9.6s which is Marky! 30d fastest is 10.4s quarter mile, 9.7s on a 335d so 0.1s slower than Marky's 40I! I'm in the 11's at the min, but fast for a diesel especially with my conservative map plenty left in it! Just not the difference you think that torque helps just the rev range is diesel's downfall
It doesnt mess around
I have a 330d xdrive, stage 1 is 313bhp and 666nm and that makes a lot of cars surprised. I really should've got the 335 instead lol
I have a lower 320D tuned (250bhp, 500nm), and it is already such a sleeper on the road. You can go so fast everywhere.
Probably would get into the 11's on a cold day as the turbos would would perform better.
Love this car. What year is it?
My stage 1 Mk7R does 0-100 km/h in 3.68 and 402 ind 11.77. So i think stage 2 should be a lot quicker no?
Would i need to upgrade anything if getting stage 1 on 335d?
its fast, and if u have xdrive, it is a gti killer for sure.
Golf R killer too
Some better tires might be enough to push it just that little bit more.
Is it worth buying a diesel when I don’t do long journeys everyday?
I have a same car running 461bhp
My times are 11.5 1/4 with budget tyres
100-200 is 8.8 best so far
0-60 is 3.34 (budget tires)
So your times are good!
You only need high pressure fuel pump to run it at 450bhp
After that is turbo upgrade 😎
You still have the cats and dpf?
@@TheCinderellaman10no that will defo be a downpipe as well
After 390-400hp turbo is max out already…
Friend of mine has a 435d, his timing chain snapped, got a new head because all his valves grenaded. He got it repaired and now 4 weeks later his rod bearings are gone.
What year was it ?

what about a 335i n54?
Jamie, want to race my stage 1 E92 335i?
fazer12779 you got no chance. 335i stage1 is about 370 bhp and you end up in garage with engine problems after the race if yours is n54
I would like to see how this car would stack against my 335D. I’m running stage 3 hybrids with stage 3 map plus other mods, my Running 475bhp 970nm
What mods do you have to do to the torque converter bcos doesn’t it have a limit stock of around 800nm?

Exactly 94K miles afetr those runs......nicely run in now...haha.. really strong engine to pull those times....
Because its a diesel the times are gonna get worse because its hotter than the last run
Then you must have the best diesel fuel you can get your hands on. According to some diesel with a high cetane value And according to some diesel that is not Is biodiesel or mixed with RME
Racelogic should update the screen hardware, it looks so dated with that huge bezel and small screen.

I have a bmw 335d stage one remap with dpf/egr delete and stage 1 tune however my car seems to let off abit of black smoke when i floor it to the bottom but it stops straight away only like the first 2 seconds. My turbos are mint and my services are every 5k. Could that mean a bad tune? As i noticed yours didnt smoke at all
Jamies still has DPF so won't smoke, sounds to me like your car could do with a better map that's stage 2 ( dpf delete ) I recommend GKR Performance 🙂
@nathanscaddan2297 oh that's probably why mine is smoking if he still has his dpf as mine has already been removed. Only smokes when I floor it but that might be normal without a dpf I thinj
