@@cagataytoprak1770yeah, but he literarly already killed or almost killed third of the players. He plans to take like half of the map before switching. It will be easier to go dom on that stage.
9:46 if I remember correctly, Alexander the Great had issues with Tyre, too. Mostly because a fortified part of the city was offshore, and with no way of sending his army to them, as it was land based and the Phoenicians were master shipbuilders, he instead ordered the land be brought to them and the island essentially became a peninsula due to the TONS of earth that Alexander had them move. It wasn't a very wide land-bridge, and mostly still under a few feet of water, but it was effective enough. Once he gained a bunch of war ships, Alexander finished off the siege and moved on.
Yep! It was actually a fulfillment of a Biblical prophecy of thousands of years prior. Original Tyre was a mainland city. A Jewish prophet said it would be destroyed and thrown into the sea. Island Tyre was the result of the Phoenicians fleeing their mainland city due to a Babylonian siege. That original city, now abandoned, provided the material for Alexander’s land bridge. And thus the prophecy was fulfilled.
IIRC the Achaemenid Persians pushed all the way to the Indus river, so you're missing about half of your de jure lands on this map. Just have to make up for it in the West.
I've heard David Tremblay is very scenic this time of year but I honestly don't think it can beat That Guys Daughter as my favourite travel destination
rocking that mess 🤘 I was so excited about your setup after the first episode. I was explaining it to my girlfriend. Only she doesn't play so she was just sitting there all 😬
I enjoyed the humour value in scrappy wars with constant barbarians sieges, but seeing you go ham on Domination has been remarkably entertaining. And while it's only having a somewhat mild effect on the actual gameplay, I'm actually really enjoying the added context that is the Mediterranean. My very mild memories of reading some children's books in my youth about the area gives me a context missing in the randomized maps of the average civ game.
Laughing hysterically like Willem Dafoe at the absolute carpet of military - and THEN picking up Hic Sunt Dracones before waltzing through Supersaharan Africa. I wonder if Tater's winning this one 🤣
This is Civ VI as the ZERG! Also, would a religious alliance with the empire with most favorable other religion cause them to focus on converting your empire?
I love how you apologize for even plugging your ability for patreon. Like bro its your channel and weve never heard "like comment and subscribe" so i think we're golden
you should do a persia (or sumeria w the early rush w war-carts) on the large map as tsl. it is crazy when you have 6 civs within 5 tyles of your spawn point. i think it'd be fun to watch (ik you hate tsl's but content would be great)
I would like to thank you for your content and if I could I would give you more support you are a wonderful person and a great content creator keep up to good work
Pillaging actually spoiled epic speed for me. I used to prefer the slower pace, but once i started operating around pillaging with pillage cards active, the game was just so comically easy
Hey Potato, I don't know if you will see this, but this video is missing from the Playlist. As an avid Playlist enjoyer I thought it good to mention. Hope it helps. :)
21:00 what's the egg thing? I hadn't watched Potato's videos in a while and just recently been enjoying his content again, I am just curious what's that because I used to pick up most references Potato threw at us.
I’ve played this game for thousand of hours and notice that AI dont really care about Kabul and Akkad city states. So there is no point in putting more than 5 envoys there. 5 is sufficient. The AI is programmed to be biased towards certain city states where they would be putting tons of envoys there
Is there a reason this is not a would wrap map? Do you feel if the map allowed you to move left into the far part of the map you would have still pulled of the war game?
hey potato, just got back into civ 6 enjoying it. love your videos great to watch while playing. been trying to beat immortal so I can take on deity. Your videos have been very helpful.
I actually started a TSL Earth Huge game as Persia because of this series. Took Anshan's settler right off the bat to get an early second city. Went to war with Babylon as soon as I was able to become suzerain of Akkad. Levied Akkad's military (at that point it was just a fuck ton of warriors) to use as cannon fodder while my immortals and archers stood back and obliterated Babylon's walls. Took the entire three city empire in pretty short order.
Instead of naming cities directly after Patreons, try to combine the patreon's name with the city's, which takes some creativity, and may require work researching the etymology, but i do something similar in my games, and it's really fun.
Improve them so they are more populated and more productive, named after building bigger and taller buildings, as opposed to a wide city strategy which prioritizes having many weaker cities.
@@T0tenkampfyes that's how he gets gold in lump sums but he's also making boatloads of gold per turn as well. He does sell off his resources for gold. It's just so quick that you can probably miss it in a blink ... because he has a trading mod that makes it suuuuuper easy to trade
Potato please learn a bit about Swedish names. Poor Joakim Järrebring got his name totally butchered it sounded like Jochum Jarrebring. Å, ä and ö has a very different pronounciation than a and o. Ä in Järrebring sounds lik a short version of the A in Potato.
I've found myself kinda disliking the "name cities after patreon members" thing. It weakens the flavor of the game a lot, and they're much less memorable than the culture names.
Potato wanting to play a culture game... starts killing everyone nearby.
I mean... it worked for the USA
it is a culture game...the culture of violence
To be fair, culture games in 15-20 player tsl games where you start 6 tiles from ai are almost impossible on deity, this feels more natural
@@cagataytoprak1770yeah, but he literarly already killed or almost killed third of the players. He plans to take like half of the map before switching. It will be easier to go dom on that stage.

this series is a textbook on the Civ6 Domination game imo

his tiny land bridge became an actual peninsula today! You can see it on Google maps

This has to be one of the most entertaining games and game plans Potato has played, so much fun to watch can't wait to see the next episode
Oh god the micro potatoes gonna be doing in the late game will be horrendous
Exactly what I was thinking
I’m impressed that the AI actually managed to build Petra somewhat close to where it is in real life.
Cyrus being the first king to emplement human rights and make a table to immortalise it watching potato commit war crimes as persia:🥲
rocking that mess 🤘

She doesn’t play civ?!? YOU MUST LEAVE HER- ok I’m joking

This feels like a revenge tour for the thunderdome game lmao
Cannot emphasize enough how awesome watching you spank the entire Mediterranean into submission is. Loving this!
20:25 Oh so now I HAVE to watch your videos and enjoy them, I see how it is.
This is such a fun series. I’m gonna have to play another TSL map after watching this.
Love the city of "That Guy's Daughter" 10/10 no notes.
Super satisfying game so far, Potato! You're killing it these days -- keep feeling good!
It must be a truly massive surprise when you declared war after setting up a tidal wave like that
Geographically, you have essentially replicated most of ancient Persia’s conquest of the Middle East and ancient Egypt! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Laughing hysterically like Willem Dafoe at the absolute carpet of military - and THEN picking up Hic Sunt Dracones before waltzing through Supersaharan Africa. I wonder if Tater's winning this one 🤣

Hello , How can I download extra user interface tabs/menus which you used?
"Victor is established in That Guy's Daughter"
Did you forget to rename Kutaisi, or is there a Patreon patron with the same name as the city?
Historically, Persia was not a sea-faring empire. They actually saw salt water as demonic. So, way to stay true to not being able to embark :)

break them LEGGS potato
Persia takes Jerusalem.

thank god america is not in the game with all the oil you are gonna get :P
