totally agree with you, most of these testers are scared to say what they "really think" in case they lose there job, good on you ginny, say it loud and say it proud CHEAP NASTY SCRATCHY PLASTICS and it doesnt feel like a golf quality wise !!!!
With the last few videos there is this strange blue filter applied. Could that be turned down a bit? It makes it a bit hard to judge the car's colours and materials.
We are cross shopping the T-Cross with the Opel CrosslandX and Seat Arona - Mrs M wants good visibility as the No 1 and ease of driving in traffic as No 2 (so good tech) have you some guidance or opinions having driven them all please?
For the best visibility and practicality Volkswagen will always win in the segment, they make cars to be simple, elegant, comfortable, and safe. They use large class and overall visibility is awesome.
I have the 1.5 TSi in my Golf estate and I can tell you it's definitely not quiet. Coming from s pre-facelift 1.2 TSi I was actually surprised at how loud the new 1.5 is. If you ever feel the need to go above, say, 4000 rpm, prepare your ears for some extremely loud revs. Other than the noise, though, it"s been a nippy little engine.
Francisco Sousa Might be so, but considering it's a small block economy engine it doesn't sound particularly enjoyable at that. More like a vaccuum cleaner, which is often the case in these small engines, but this one has definitely stood out in my ear. What's more, and this just hearsay as I have no personal experience, is that the previous generation 1.4 TSi with the same power output of 150 ps actually feels sportier and more dynamic. Can't confirm if there's truth to that because I don't currently have access to the 1.4, though.
M0rtalC0mbat I have the previous gen 1.4 TSi, I can confirm that it too can get a little raucous over the 4K mark but my interpretation of the engine was that it’s a perky, flexible engine made for refined cruising and good low to mid range (engine speed) drivability and economics designed to make day to day life in the car nicer, for more out and out sportiness best look more toward the GTi end of the engine scale. Bottom line is for its designed main task its and excellent little motor.
1. Does it have a note saying that "no animals were harmed in making of this vehicle"? 2. Is the cheat software on all models or is it one of the options?
I like how the T-roc looks, but interior quality is terrible. I hate this whole thing car makers are doing now. They put tons and tons of cheap plastic and try to fool you into thinking the car is of quality build by adding screens and social media. Facebook is not a luxury. Large, soft, comfortable seats. Quality materials, lining in the door pockets, glove box lining, soft, quality materials on the pillars, those are the features that add luxury. I have yet to find cheap plastic in my w203 Mercedes interior. Or even better, a 90s S-class. Feels like a cruise ship master apartment in there. But today, even the S-class gets cheap plastic in some areas.
Contrast too high on video in attempt to make this look cool and sophisticated - result is you can't see half the detail in dark areas and bright areas are just over exposed and clip to white
VW has really been cutting corners the last few years with its interior quality. It looks like consumers are paying for the dieselgate fiasco which cost them billions. The fact that people are still investing their hard earned money in this company is truly baffling.
Horrible colour grading in all these videos. Why continue this trend when it looks this awful? It's not cool, it looks atrocious and takes away from what is overall a good review.
I’m sorry, but I own one and it feels like a every other VW and yes it’s got scratchy plastic but once your in the car you don’t just start touching the plastic. I’m sorry but I can’t take any advice from you
Great, another SUV, what about Stationwagons and MPVs? Will we still get those, car makers? Or is your sole market now "Soccermoms that wanna offroad!"
A car that’s based on one of the most well regarded cars on sale. But is less efficient, handles worse, has a lower quality interior, is expensive.... This fad can only go on so long before common sense prevails.
Overpriced when compared to Suzuki or Mitsubishi equivalents. The radio system is useless on the base model. And an upgrade costs a fortune in Ireland at least
lol who is gonna cross shop a Suzuki with a Volkswagen? And Mitsubishi is out of it league here, the T-Roc competes with the C-HR, HRV, and Cx-5 all of which are expensive as well.
its not really a proper suv though is it, its as you say nice to look at, and thats about it no low 4 wheel drive train and a off roader in anyway some people what pratical cars only suzukis stuff is worth looking at might not be as refined as this but will stamp on this thing all day long. Bmw, volkswagen, audi, just naming a few have no proper 4x4 systems they are just for show when the going gets tough.
All new VW products really show the effects of the diesel scandal. They are cutting corners and making them cheaper quality than before. I loved the vault likeinteriors and wish They didn't go cheap
Blake Swan This I’d the first and only car from Volkswagen you could seriously level the comment of “going cheap” on and that only really can be leveled at the dashboard and door card uppers. I seriously doubt VW lacked the funds to have soft touch uppers in this car dieselgate or otherwise. I think there’s a different reasoning behind this decision.
Volkswagen has to undercut competitors while still offering their expected value (hard plastics?) to overcome their bad image right now , still too bullish for my liking - Good night sweet prince !
All that cringy yellow in the outdated interior won't make it look cool. The very same Golf steering along all the VW range makes things even worse. The Peugeot 3008 is miles ahead in this department.
Couple of points: I fully agree the the materials used on the upper dashboard and door cards on the T-Roc are sub par for VW and I don’t understand why they’ve done it. Peugeot has lifted their game of late but they needed to because their interiors weren’t great and with Mazda and Honda also upping their game the French were getting left behind and their design flair is nice but compromised by the wheel placement in some of their cars cutting off visibility of the gauge cluster. You my look at the VW interiors as boring but I disagree, they’re neat, functional, well made, logical to use which is important and their user interface is one of the best and I rate all of those traits above looking cool particularly when I’m traveling at a 100kph with traffic surrounding me. Each to their own though, I do fully acknowledge the Peugeot has put in the effort.
Aoyagi What's that got to do with the fact that its a bloated golf or in other words a dumb crossover. I don't get the obsession some people have with the plastic in vehicles anyway.
Qashqai, CX3, Kadjar, Toyota CH-R, hyundai Tucson/Kona, all more value for money and more relilable. If it has to be a VAG group car, maybe you should check Skoda or Seat crossover. Same engines, multimedia etc but better value for money.
TheHolydruid Don't listen to these guys...In this class there are only VAG products leading. T-Roc, Q2 or a little bigger Ateca or Karoq. Mazda CX-3 is too small. CX-5 too big.
TheHolydruid Don’t listen to rhetoric rubbish from people with their own agendas, have a look at this car and whatever else you like the look of, do the research on them but most of all, understand what you’re going to want it for, what you want out of it and match your research to those requirements, then test drive whatever you’ve narrowed it down to. Enjoy the process because it’s not everyday you get the opportunity to spend 30k so yes it’s important but no reason it can’t be some fun too.
Francisco Sousa only cos petrolheads ain’t driven an ev...cheaper, faster, easier to drive and don’t wreck the atmosphere. Your statement is correct but so wrong.
nowtleft2 I've driven EV and while its good for city use, and cheaper to use, its an uninspiring drive. 0-60 accelaration is not everything, an Hybrid however would be a good choice for this car.
I got a design 115hp 1.6 d black with white roof. Best car I ever had so far. Fast and handles lovely and looks lovely.
I really love every review she does. Non bias and honest. Its great appreciated and a welcome change to that James character
Should I get Kia Sportage 2018 or Hyundai Tucson ?
Love the honesty about your review
totally agree with you, most of these testers are scared to say what they "really think" in case they lose there job, good on you ginny, say it loud and say it proud CHEAP NASTY SCRATCHY PLASTICS and it doesnt feel like a golf quality wise !!!!
Literally the only place on the internet that says the differences between the models
stunning, absolutely stunning, I just have to get myself one of these
David I think she's married.
David Are you referring to the car or Ginny? Either way... LOL.
With the last few videos there is this strange blue filter applied. Could that be turned down a bit? It makes it a bit hard to judge the car's colours and materials.
Nice car, shame about the film quality on this video.
Who cares about plastics, is anyone gonna be sitting in their car admiring their soft plastic?
Please remove the instagram filters from your video :\

M0rtalC0mbat The 1.5 TSI was supposed to be the sporty base engine, so no wonder it does make a sound.

2. Is the cheat software on all models or is it one of the options?
sam22 does your car have a leather wrapped steering wheel?
If the cheat device is available as an option I’d tick that box when you buy the T-Roc.
mazda cx-3 for the win!!
While it's a bit smaller, it is way better. I'd have to add the Hyundai Kona full spec as a good competitor to the T-Roc, too.
So carbuyer finally getting the things around with Ginny
Cracking review, as always. 👍
why is the video quality so bad? Looks like they used some cheap android app filters
It must be a copy of a copy of the original video.
Nice honest review ✅✅✅✅✅

Kindly tell us about the launch details in India
Ginny you little temptress!! 😻
I wanna buy this car 😍
what kind of a hipster did color-grading for this video?
Sure looks nice.
Perfect car !
Please, I'm being you British people, stop mispronuncing the brand name. It should be pronounced as if it was written "FolksVagen"!
VW has really been cutting corners the last few years with its interior quality. It looks like consumers are paying for the dieselgate fiasco which cost them billions. The fact that people are still investing their hard earned money in this company is truly baffling.
They "forgot" to put some soft plastics and to adjust the price... ;-)
4WD best pick
That "low lip" again 3:16 ... so low, that you toes would hardly touch the ground if you sit on it. "Amazingly low"... OMG.
what should I get? Nissan Qashqai or this...
Ask the question is answering the question on this one. If you want Value for money and reliablity. The Nissan of course.
Neither
If you want driving dynamic, handling, comfort, and quality the Volkswagen of course.
Horrible colour grading in all these videos. Why continue this trend when it looks this awful? It's not cool, it looks atrocious and takes away from what is overall a good review.
Tech Innuendo Disagree completely.
I’m sorry, but I own one and it feels like a every other VW and yes it’s got scratchy plastic but once your in the car you don’t just start touching the plastic. I’m sorry but I can’t take any advice from you
Horrible camera filters, as per usual.
Great, another SUV, what about Stationwagons and MPVs? Will we still get those, car makers? Or is your sole market now "Soccermoms that wanna offroad!"
Why is it almost all women on Car Buyer now? This channel has gone down hill so much since 2012
More Éshyouveeeeeess around... greate!
A car that’s based on one of the most well regarded cars on sale. But is less efficient, handles worse, has a lower quality interior, is expensive.... This fad can only go on so long before common sense prevails.
The old Tiguan was based on the most regarded cars on sale :P and they sold 5 million units.
Painted metal showing inside on the B post door frame. Low rent.
VW interior quality lacks in this car, maybe VW is planning T-Roc as a stand alone brand.
its not really a proper suv though is it, its as you say nice to look at, and thats about it no low 4 wheel drive train and a off roader in anyway some people what pratical cars only suzukis stuff is worth looking at might not be as refined as this but will stamp on this thing all day long. I’ve watched old VHS tapes with better image quality than this.
Nope, got 1 min 20 secs in and can't watch anymore. Fix the stupid filter, or just remove it!!!!!
I wish VW would stop with that digital dash. It looks terrible and will cause nothing but problems.
small suv means small vehicle , less space but steep price. I am happy with my sedan.
Stunning,not the car.l mean Ginney
Review mazda cx3
Great VW adverts for the T roc but can you believe the prices? extortionate....
TOO MUCH FILTERS
£30000 they must be joking.
It's pronounced S.U.V, with an S. There is no H in the word Sport!
Not sold on this. Its a bit ugly and probably not worth the money. I'd rather buy a Mazda CX-5.
Feminism finally got the carbuyer, i guess James got sacked.
Looks like they’re going back to the crappy interior quality of the Golf Mk 5. I’m out!
carwow is much better

Although it's a good car, the interior disappointed - very cheap/ ugly plastics for 25000€ !
I shrunk the Tiguan.Bye
overpriced
ShroomWalrus So is everything
It's extremely cheap
Where are the men ? Women gradually take power
Too expensive, price is almost identical to 7 years old audi q3
Yudha Bagaskara the Q3 had better build quality though....
The Q3 is much better)
Volkswagen has to undercut competitors while still offering their expected value (hard plastics?) to overcome their bad image right now , still too bullish for my liking - Good night sweet prince !
Vote for xc40, hrv, cx3 , chr, kona
xc40)
It's a VW, of course it's expensive for what it is. Go to the competitors to get a real value car.
Edgar Renje depends on your market, VW is highly competitive here for the most part. Toyota’s are expensive for what they are here.
looks cheap
Awful
Who would buy this car?
The steering wheel looks bloody awful. V old fashioned
All that cringy yellow in the outdated interior won't make it look cool. The very same Golf steering along all the VW range makes things even worse.
The Peugeot 3008 is miles ahead in this department.
Andre Coutinho You are having a laugh aren’t you!
Peugeot has so much better interiors than VW

NZsarge1 VW are cost cutting since the diesel scandal, they are nothing special
Its just a blaoted Golf. Its a stupid vehicle
All crossovers are...
Aoyagi exactly!
Apparently all the plastics are hard inside so definitely not a bloated Golf
It's not like the plastics in a Golf are something to write home about. They're plastics.
Aoyagi What's that got to do with the fact that its a bloated golf or in other words a dumb crossover. I don't get the obsession some people have with the plastic in vehicles anyway.
Overpriced. As VW often is these days. They are losing their way.
Overrated and unreliable car. You can buy so much better cars in this class.

nowtleft2 Their EV platform us starting next year.
Fugly interior with cheap plastics🤦♂️
It's horrible
João Martins best looking and driving car in class. Sadly expensive
Still Carwow reviews are better :) @carwow
