So, archive is a declutter tool to make your inbox look cleaner.
If you don't want to see an email at all, just delete it, and if there is some chance you might need it in future, just archive it...
Yes! You have solved my problem in a matter of minutes. Thanks.
Thanks for the simple explanation.
thank you, very useful, I learned a lot
Very informative thanks
My email not goes to another email addres
And what do you do if you inadvertently archive a message without noticing what the subject was?
The video could do without the protohipster whistling music
What if you accidently archieved; you dont know which emails they were, is there a way to pull up all archived ones alone?
Yes! There is an archive folder along the left side of your screen. You can move it back to your inbox.
I know this video is a year old, but I hope you’ll be able to answer this question for me please.
So when I Archive emails, they absolutely will not be deleted, even after years of being Archived, correct? Like after 30 days they won’t suddenly just be deleted, right?
Thank you so much in advance!
Yeah that’s right
I clicked "add to archives" by mistake 2 selected messages, now I cannot find them in the archive even though I see the number "2" under "categories-social" and everything I do doesn't show any unread messages. Not in "all mail" or anything else.
Now what?
Try searching by date range. That may help. Good luck!

Thanks for the replay, already did with no success, however, I found them when I seached "unread", opend them and moved them back to the inbox, they didn't move to the inbox and I cannot find them as "unread" becaouse It was readed... Wired.
That's where they put the archive messages? Holy shit I thought they sent that to a secure area but this might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Well I'll never use it again
this problem is still going on wtf is wrong with google.
This is the dumbest feature I've ever heard of! If I wanted it deleted, I don't want to find 60,000 emails in 5 years that weren't deleted when I thought they were. Infuriating!
Archive is garbage. Any useful email goes into a designated folder…not louse archive. It is plain redundant function in practice. It has zero value for me. And you shouldnt have “thousands of messages” - that is lousy email management. None of us ever go to the Archive file….and yes I am speaking on your behalf. Life is way too short people.
