This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for getting straight to the point and explaining what only NEEDS to be known, without the extra unnecessary rambling.
Thank you, I really wanted to move emails for new job opportunities in a separate Label automatically and your video proved to be very helpful to do this.
I just googled how to do this, and your video popped up. THANK YOU for your easy to follow instructions. My inbox is a mess, but now it will be better!
Thank you so much! Been going in circles working out the difference between moving emails and just simply labelling messages. The trick is to archive! Which removes them from the Inbox, so finally we can have Inbox Zero. Thanks a million for this.
Fantastic ! I just finished watching the tutorial. It is really helpful especially if you want to automatically organize your messages into different folders. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this video. I was more used to dealing with MS accounts vs Gmail, and the difference is rather big. I could not for the life of me figure out how to send emails to a specific folder. The difference is that Gmail call it Labels, In MS accounts theyre called rules
Oh my gosh, thank you!!! All I wanted to do was to remove the unnecessary emails from my inbox. I didn't realize Archive was the key (I thought archive was a delayed delete). Thank you for the quick and easy explaination!
That's a huuuge help thank you. Is there a way to add all current emails from that sender into the folder, or only the new ones that come through? Sorry if I missed this.
If I select "skip the inbox (archive it) will it skip the inbox and go into the folder/label I created? or will I no longer see it and I shouldn't select"archive" and only select the move option? Thanks! Great video!!
What about setting up a label to archive emails forwarded from another email provider I.E Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo etc? Is it possible? What filter will it define those?
Thanks, but what if we want to organize and tidy up our Sent box? Gmail seems to want us to leave all sent mail in the Sent box, which makes it pretty cluttered after a while. I have gone into the Sent box and used the Label function to assign sent mail to various folders. However, they still just sit there in the Sent box. Any tips on how to de-clutter the Sent box would be much appreciated.
Thank you for the video instruction. It’s one of the best step-by-step videos. I’ve watched regarding Google. I will definitely recommend people watching your site if they need help like I did.
Hi there, Thanks for uploading the video it helped but didn't quite cover my question. My account used to automatically decide which emails to send to Promotions, Social & Primary but I messed with my settings & now everything just piles in together. If i was to follow the method in the video it would take me forever to filter everything. Can you help me please?
Good question. Have a look at this other video. At about the 1:00 mark I show how to fix that problem. Good luck. How to Organize Gmail Inbox (Gmail Layout) ua-cam.com/video/CJWjr5_VZfE/v-deo.html
Hello Rishabh. Yes, there is a check box to select matching conversations when you create the filter. It will label and move existing emails. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I always thought Archive would effectively consign the email to the Bin, from which recovery would only be possible with some lengthy process. 😅 Great tip!
Thank you! The archive function was what I've been missing. I assumed that if you selected 'archive' when creating the filter, it would put the emails somewhere else! Silly me 🤦🏾♂
I'd hoped this video would show me how to move messages, but it doesn't. Simply labelling messages does not MOVE it out of the inbox to another folder, it just labels it within that second folder while keeping it in the Inbox, thus continuing to clutter up my Inbox. Please correct your misleading video title.
Bruh okay i just watched thr video Did u not listen at all? U gotta click to ARCHIVE annnnd to Use the Label so tht way it gets removed from the inbox and put straught into just its new label My god bro
Direct to the point. easy to follow. VERY HELPFUL! recommended! Thank you and stay safe.
Thanks, you too!

When you apply the labels there should be a checkbox to apply to existing conversations.
