- Jason and his father Charlie are sawing out eastern white cedar saw stock with the new Vallee Big Red saw mill from Pascal Metals. They use the Kubota B2601 tractor paired with the T1750 Kranman Hydraulic timber trailer to load the saw logs onto the table. The Honda 520 Foreman ATV and trailer are used to haul the saw stock away and the Husqvarna 550 XP Mark II is used to cut the wane into firewood slabs. A nice little operation and a great way to spend a morning. Welcome to Oak Mountain!
Years later...watching...better than any machine or property/ equipment..,.a dad.🇺🇸🇨🇦
My Dad is my best friend!
Awesome work! We're so glad to see our product being put to good use. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching our videos! We want to make more sawing videos in the future but our focus has been on firewood for the most part to date.
Great to see your dad in your operation! Or his operation. And that Tiny earns her keep is nice too! I wish my dog could pick up refundables! All the best, Jeff and Leslie.
He’s having a lot of fun with his mill. I was watching you saw this morning with the Log Father. Nice machine! Take care. Jason
@@OakMountainAcotts So excited to find you both! Sandy
Was waiting to see your dad and the mill. 👍
He wanted to practice with it a little before we made the first video!
Great operation there! Must have been nice sawing white cedar! I've done it a few times a long time ago. Thanks!
Thanks! We are still figuring things out but we are definitely in a good position to work the woodlot and add value to our wood now. Love the smell of fresh cedar... We appreciate your support for our channel!
Hello to Tiny.
She’s a good pup! Thanks for watching!
Looks to be a good mill. And Tiny is a beaut.
So far so good... we are having a lot of fun with it! It’s a good thing Tiny is a gentle giant!! Thanks for watching our channel!
Great video, nice to see father and son working together!
I saw a lot of great reviews of the Pascal Metal mills, would love to see some larger/bigger wood on that saw mill.
keep up the great videos
Cheers from Quebec
Most of the trees on our property would be maximum 16” diameter. We are trying to clean up blow downs and insect damaged first, but do have plans for some larger stock soon. Thanks for watching our channel! -Jason
How's she goin'? Hey there Charlie!!! Nice saw mill. You did a nice job milling up that cedar and I'm sure you'll find a use for the lumber. Take care!!
Thanks Grampie ! The mill runs great and it's lot of fun. Now when I see a piece of hardwood I can cut my own stock for woodworking etc. We enjoy watching your channel, keep up the good work.
@@charlesacott1452 Thanks buddy!!!
We need to get Dad on a few more videos!
@@OakMountainAcotts Copy that!!!
The guy my brother works for bought one of those mills last fall he really likes it I'm definitely considering one for my next mill I've often wondered if they have a charging system for the battery?
Hi, I checked with Dad and he said the sawmill has a charger for the battery built right into the unit. So the little Honda motor will look after the battery charging as well. Hope this helps, Jason.
Our main business is Eastern White Cedar, so nice to work with! We are from Ontario, where are you at? Really enjoyed watching your dad and you sawing. Sandy
Hi, we are in New Brunswick. We have owned our property since 96 but are just starting to get more serious as our wood grows to marketable size. Are you guys posting videos as well? Jason
@@OakMountainAcotts Yes we have a channel too. Loving the accents from out East! Andy & I enjoyed your channel during breakfast before he heads out hunting and then to the sawmill. Thanks
I have a tractor trailer load of poplar if you guys wanna come try out big red..
Thanks for the offer. I wonder how long it would take big red to get through a whole trailer load!
What do you run for lubricant on blade
What size engine
Hi Shawn, the blade lubricant is water with some Dove dish soap added. The engine is a 20 HP Honda with electric start. Thanks for watching! Jason
@@OakMountainAcotts Although often used by sawyers, dish soap has degreasing properties, which is counterproductive for the purpose of lubricating the blade. We recommend a mixture of water and organic cutting oil for optimal performance and to extend your blades' life.
