Toolin Tuesday: Floral Wallet

Hey ya'll. In this episode of Toolin Tuesday I will be tooling up a custom wallet for a client. In this video I am using some new Barry Kings tools which I just picked up. I also try some different techniques for some flowers which I dont do a ton of. I hope you enjoy.

This is a great video. I like how you weren’t obligated to speak throughout it. I was curious what dept you’re on. I’m a FF in the DFW area. So I’m trying to learn and I struggle in the area of floral backgrounds. How to design it and get it to look right. I want to make a new radio strap and I love the one you did that was very detailed and had tons of tooling. How did you learn how to design?

Thanks brother. I'm going on 11 year with the Victoria Fire Department. As far as designs go I started with templates that were available for sale at Tandy. After I utilized all those I just started drawing every day to get my own style down.

Howdy. You can find tons of videos on youtube and books at your local leather shops that have lots of patterns and info on what to do to get started. Id recommend purchasing a beginner leather set and try it out to see if you like it.

@@AttackLineLeather thanks. I see leather but learned in the UAE where it was all camel leather which can’t be tooled. Excited to try tooling now that I’m back in the US.
