If you don’t need accuracy for the bow spec to land, it almost seems like you could bring an entire max mage setup with LB and only bring the bow as a spec weapon for zammy. The benefit would be you could ditch the ranged pots and only need the heart for dps!

Hey aaty. i wanted to leave a comment here to tell you how unbelievably helpful you were for my inferno cape grind. your FCF series is unmatched, and i probably watched every video twice before even attempting for the first time, let alone the rewatches once my attempts started. i sat on wave 62 watching you do 63, and then triples, and zuk over and over. i pb’d on wave 63 twice. the first time i got past it was attempt 11. that was also the first time i got to zuk, but low brews. 2 attempts later, i was back at zuk, and had my cape on attempt 13. couldnt have done it without you, thats for DAMN sure.
Lmao the drop towards the end, glad to hear some information on the claws, didn't want to scrub through the gnomonkey streams to see if he was being sarcastic about them or not. I'm very surprised that Varla pt2 didn't make the summer, but not miffed about it, just lots of slayer point farming to fill the time as you mentioned. Zammy method sort of feels like a response to Freeze Bandos being a thing for a while now, giving players an option to 'afk' the GWD bosses, though this is pretty meta. Requires a synapse too so isn't exactly free as long as they don't overtune the drop rates to make them too common. Wonder if some radical overhaul to Kree'arra is next, seeing as it is the only one of the 4 that doesn't have a method to cheese it now.

personally think this bow should remain the way it is, GWD is old and honestly speaking how many people are actually doing zammy for fun/pet hunt, even in my video i mentioned that jagex shouldn't really nerf it at all since as you said it only has 1 singular use
Love doing zammy now, it’s my favorite looking pet, and having the bow made me finish all the CA’s for Kril and will most definitely doing all my slayer task from now on for zammy.
Nice video. I hope more weapons/gear come out like the bow, I mean it looks genuinely like a fun weapon to use at zammy, even if it is kinda "power creep" but it's only for that boss and demons and to be honest, that boss is ancient and we shouldn't care if zammy or the other gwd bosses get nuked these days. A suggestion, it would be nice if you made more videos concerning new gear that gets added, I think it's really interesting to know what you think on the subjects and as I don't watch much Twitch or streams in general, this is pretty much where I get to see your content.
I am just lazy and gearing particularly is a crazy in depth concept with so many different builds and changes for different bosses, stats, playstyles, preferences etc I'd like to do some on gearing but it's difficult to know where to start, even harder to explain every items use cases
On the bone claws, convenience factor is something that I don’t see talked about near as much, when I teach newer people chambers, I normally advise them to get a range weapon with 9-10 square distance so they aren’t dragged around the rooms, it might be less dps than other options they have available, but the practicality and convenience makes up for a slight dps loss.
good angle - question is what convenice do they offer? i havnt thought about it too much, and really the obvious downside is that you'd have to switch to them and perform a spec 3x instead of 2x, which i suppose is just a minor point against them. Second point is that because of the practical issues they face on when you would use them you'd have to actually consider NPC hp/timing/setup etc, and so careless use (most people) would probably result in worse outcomes.

However on the bone claws, I just don't see the appeal or convenience. If the price were to go down and make a pking weapon for 60 attack pures that gave a claw-like spec for 10m, I could see them getting some use on the pvp front, but on most of the pvp videos I watched on it the people using them did not enjoy them very much and said other cheaper options felt better than them. I would think giving the bone claws some form of convenience, such as more accuracy, or even like a lunge forward where you could use it two tiles away and puts you in melee distance when the spec was done would be more interesting than what we got from it.

DPS calcs are only that... DPS calcs. They fall incredibly short when considering the nuances of the rest of the fight (i.e., where your "practical") point kicks in. I.e., Bone claw raw DPS might exceed D claws, but that's a raw limitation of the DPS calc itself... it fails to consider that bone claws require more attacks to use up the full spec, which means you trade away a main-hand weapon attack. If your main-hand weapon is shit (whip), then there's little to no opportunity cost of that additional spec. If your main-hand is scythe in max strength bonus gear, then the opportunity cost of that additional spec is way higher. That nuance is completely missing from all DPS-calc logic. The side-grade is fine.
IDK if there's ever been a new item people were so divided on whether was OP or trash, lmao. Someone call Jagex and tell them to make the claws require 35% spec like you suggested, but also reduce the attack req to 40. Problem solved; they would be worse than dclaws for PvM without being useless as was intended, and would become viable in PvP for 40 att pures without being OP there either, nor useless there like they currently are. (50 att req like a bunch of PKers have suggested would still leave them worthless compared to double gmaul stacked with obby maul or DWH.)
I kinda doubt they will nerf the Claws... at least initially. They've received an insane amount of backlash from the TD table and the drop rates, so I have a feeling they will be hesitant to nerf anything after being put on blast by Reddit for like an entire week. IMO if they do buff the drop rates of the claws it WOULD make sense to nerf the spec to like 35%, but yea idt they will. People will complain that they can no longer get the BIS spec weapon from a Demonic gorilla clone.

Difficult for me. One way it does not use the red x way. Making it more legit way too play but the 100% feels too good. But like you said zammy or skotizo only good places to use it at. Think only get max freeze on task
I think its good they add in items that are only good at specific things well tbow, shadow, scyth are good at everything but not the best at everything.
Could you compare the bone claws vs d claws on mid-game or suboptimal stats and gear. Lets say a person with 85-90 combats and maybe bandos? Since the burn doesnt scale and is always the same then wouldnt that mean that bone claws are bis for people not maxed?
its basically an impossible task to simulate for each person at each level for each bit of gear the comparison is only even useful when looking at theoretical scenarios with 0 tick loss - something absolutely no mid level player is achieving. if the reality is that bone claws end up being like 1/3rd the price of dragon claws, then purely from a cost-effective perspective they're probably bis in "mid-game", but thats also what they're designed for so, basically idk but maybe!!! (it also depends what ur hitting)
I feel any nerf is too knee jerk. The bow is doing what its supposed to do. Absolutely obliterate demon enemies. Similarly to the Emberlight, which can have DPS that rivals Scythe against very specific enemies.
I say, let the dust settle with bone claws, I quite like the position they are in to be honest. Also, bare in mind, bone claws are only similar to dragon claws in pvm. In pvp, as far as I am aware they are strictly worse in most cases. My main issue with the new zammy method is that it makes zammy trivialised by a weapon much cheaper than a mega-rare, however I do appreciate the scorching bow only has niche uses with its spec.
Eh I feel like Zammy needed something new to make it enjoyable to counter the lower gp/h at this point. This bow at least makes it fun for pet hunters or mains wanting to boost their KC. Besides if you're getting a greater demon slayer task you are probably just going tormented demons instead of Kril now anyways.
It’s crazy how sweats see something manageable by an average player and go “wow that’s so afk” Like yeah you only have to eat during the freeze, and it’s guaranteed. But the alternative with these bosses is clicking a new spot every 1.2 seconds, sometimes multiple clicks per tick.
Are you slow? A. The only 5 way switch going on is for the minions. B. It is 20 ticks, not seconds (12 seconds btw) and you just click the spec bar. C. Next time at least watch 30 seconds of the relevant part of the video before saying something so incredibly stupid
How do you get such good framerate with the GPU plugin? I feel like I should be able to play at 60+fps and use my 144hz monitor but I'm usually at 40-50
Plugins: GPU - Unlock FPS, Draw Distance 73, Anti-Aliasing x16, Bright Textures, Animation Smoothing, Low Detail thats what i run, probably animation smoothing making it look nice, but may just be a hardware compatability issue? not too sure.
i know they wanted bclaws to be worse than reg claws but with how nichely good they made them by accident i really wish theyd just say "we accidentally made these a side upgrade and a cool weapon so, theyre staying as is!". they already take SO LONG to grind with them making it take 2 claw drops to get... lol so we'll see, but they dont sit where they wanted them to. theyll be 35% spec next week.
Bone claws might have more special attacks than Dragon claws, but they use up an attacking cycle to use that spec. Using the logic of more specs = better, then DDS is way better than dragon claws
DDS is by far the best spec wep in the game against very low def targets, but against anything that has decent def the average dmg is terrible. A dclaw spec does something like 3 times as much average dmg as a DDS spec on most bosses, despite the DDS having a higher max hit. That's how big the accuracy diff is.

This boss is a terrible fight from 2007 and was never worth the high effort to kill it efficiently in the first place. Now it's a chill pet grind. I'm not typically a fan of trivializing content but in this case I'm all for it
well it would kill any chances of them being "bis" for endgame, but i guess the point is that they were meant to fill a gap between dds -> claws/vw, not so much to be an addition at high level. 35% spec kinda puts them right in that spot, not sure thats a problem if they lose 1-2 marginal endgame use cases
I was throwing around an idea where two things occur: 1: Bone Claws renamed Burning Claws and given 35% spec to make them fit to their original design. 2: Burning Claws can be added to Dragon Claws to create Infernal Claws, Burning damage is added as a min-damage if you hit below 10% max hit or smth. (doesn't really powercreep Dragon Claws, just gives you a thematic low-hit in the form of burning damage and a nice rename/color)
it's timestamped to showcase full kills - it's barely a "method", you just sit there and spec periodically, then heal up. tldr op niche weapon showcase go brr
this isnt a dps problem - the bow is highly practical and binds zammy resulting in a low intensity kill. you're welcome to do some dps calcs and see whats up - better than tbow and essentially the same as shadow is the answer.

Why is nobody mentioned the awful accuracy on these bone claws compared to dragon claws? None of these on it have mentioned it and are saying it's good on bosses who literally have the highest def in the game. It's not just the wasted spec and wasted burn it's the garbage accuracy that makes it bad and the low str bonus means your accuracy is even lower essentially.

I personally think mega rares shouldn't be allowed in GWD. Straight up breaks the boss fights entirely. Restrict the speed in which items come into the game = things are worth more. I miss the days of no instances, and like 120 worlds on RS2... Too many worlds in OSRS and instances with OP weps in old content is just stupid. Bowfa and that bow are both very strong, but they're not mega rares. If I could restrict them, I'd then say to change that spec to be less effective. So tired of them making items worthless. How about we make things worth something.. ffs...

shadow cheesing arma has been a thing since ToA released. Freeze the mage and melee minion together and you only take damage from kree's mage attack.

I really enjoyed the bone claws on Vardorvis. Im not having alt recharging spec every kill, so it felt more satisfying from death charge aswell

I think Jagex should take a break on adding more weapons as it becomes harder and harder to balance things. At least until the end of the year.

I.e., Bone claw raw DPS might exceed D claws, but that's a raw limitation of the DPS calc itself... it fails to consider that bone claws require more attacks to use up the full spec, which means you trade away a main-hand weapon attack. If your main-hand weapon is shit (whip), then there's little to no opportunity cost of that additional spec. If your main-hand is scythe in max strength bonus gear, then the opportunity cost of that additional spec is way higher.
That nuance is completely missing from all DPS-calc logic. The side-grade is fine.

Someone call Jagex and tell them to make the claws require 35% spec like you suggested, but also reduce the attack req to 40. Problem solved; they would be worse than dclaws for PvM without being useless as was intended, and would become viable in PvP for 40 att pures without being OP there either, nor useless there like they currently are.
(50 att req like a bunch of PKers have suggested would still leave them worthless compared to double gmaul stacked with obby maul or DWH.)

I kinda doubt they will nerf the Claws... at least initially. They've received an insane amount of backlash from the TD table and the drop rates, so I have a feeling they will be hesitant to nerf anything after being put on blast by Reddit for like an entire week. IMO if they do buff the drop rates of the claws it WOULD make sense to nerf the spec to like 35%, but yea idt they will. People will complain that they can no longer get the BIS spec weapon from a Demonic gorilla clone.

Difficult for me. One way it does not use the red x way. Making it more legit way too play but the 100% feels too good. But like you said zammy or skotizo only good places to use it at. Think only get max freeze on task
I think its good they add in items that are only good at specific things well tbow, shadow, scyth are good at everything but not the best at everything.

Could you compare the bone claws vs d claws on mid-game or suboptimal stats and gear. Lets say a person with 85-90 combats and maybe bandos? Since the burn doesnt scale and is always the same then wouldnt that mean that bone claws are bis for people not maxed?
its basically an impossible task to simulate for each person at each level for each bit of gear
the comparison is only even useful when looking at theoretical scenarios with 0 tick loss - something absolutely no mid level player is achieving.
if the reality is that bone claws end up being like 1/3rd the price of dragon claws, then purely from a cost-effective perspective they're probably bis in "mid-game", but thats also what they're designed for so, basically idk but maybe!!!

I say, let the dust settle with bone claws, I quite like the position they are in to be honest. Also, bare in mind, bone claws are only similar to dragon claws in pvm. In pvp, as far as I am aware they are strictly worse in most cases. My main issue with the new zammy method is that it makes zammy trivialised by a weapon much cheaper than a mega-rare, however I do appreciate the scorching bow only has niche uses with its spec.
Eh I feel like Zammy needed something new to make it enjoyable to counter the lower gp/h at this point. This bow at least makes it fun for pet hunters or mains wanting to boost their KC. Besides if you're getting a greater demon slayer task you are probably just going tormented demons instead of Kril now anyways.

Like yeah you only have to eat during the freeze, and it’s guaranteed. But the alternative with these bosses is clicking a new spot every 1.2 seconds, sometimes multiple clicks per tick.
Are you slow? A. The only 5 way switch going on is for the minions. B. It is 20 ticks, not seconds (12 seconds btw) and you just click the spec bar. C. Next time at least watch 30 seconds of the relevant part of the video before saying something so incredibly stupid

i know they wanted bclaws to be worse than reg claws but with how nichely good they made them by accident i really wish theyd just say "we accidentally made these a side upgrade and a cool weapon so, theyre staying as is!". they already take SO LONG to grind with them making it take 2 claw drops to get... lol so we'll see, but they dont sit where they wanted them to. theyll be 35% spec next week.
Bone claws might have more special attacks than Dragon claws, but they use up an attacking cycle to use that spec. Using the logic of more specs = better, then DDS is way better than dragon claws

DDS is by far the best spec wep in the game against very low def targets, but against anything that has decent def the average dmg is terrible.
A dclaw spec does something like 3 times as much average dmg as a DDS spec on most bosses, despite the DDS having a higher max hit. That's how big the accuracy diff is.

well it would kill any chances of them being "bis" for endgame, but i guess the point is that they were meant to fill a gap between dds -> claws/vw, not so much to be an addition at high level.

They should just make a new pair of claws where you can combine dragon + bone to get something that is a tad bit better than the d claws.
I was throwing around an idea where two things occur:
1: Bone Claws renamed Burning Claws and given 35% spec to make them fit to their original design.
2: Burning Claws can be added to Dragon Claws to create Infernal Claws, Burning damage is added as a min-damage if you hit below 10% max hit or smth.
(doesn't really powercreep Dragon Claws, just gives you a thematic low-hit in the form of burning damage and a nice rename/color)

Why is nobody mentioned the awful accuracy on these bone claws compared to dragon claws? None of these on it have mentioned it and are saying it's good on bosses who literally have the highest def in the game. It's not just the wasted spec and wasted burn it's the garbage accuracy that makes it bad and the low str bonus means your accuracy is even lower essentially.

I personally think mega rares shouldn't be allowed in GWD. Straight up breaks the boss fights entirely. Restrict the speed in which items come into the game = things are worth more. I miss the days of no instances, and like 120 worlds on RS2... Too many worlds in OSRS and instances with OP weps in old content is just stupid. Bowfa and that bow are both very strong, but they're not mega rares. If I could restrict them, I'd then say to change that spec to be less effective. So tired of them making items worthless. How about we make things worth something.. ffs...
