Looked like a fantastic meal. Especially the Malay curry, Hainanese chicken with ginger sauce, and washed down with some milk tea definitely captured my attention.

Looks good! I've passed the Angel Cafe for years but never tried it. Vancouver has so many Chinese cafes and restaurants, it's hard to try everything. Not as many as China though! Your videos are valuable for highlighting good places! Tatos Curry Brisket is good, but a different style. There's another good Curry Brisket on Pender, but at $24 a small bowl !! Thanks for your recipe too!

You're very welcome. I also pass by Angel Cafe all the toime for many years and never even thought about trying. I saw another UA-cam do a video on it. The curry beef caught my eye. I haven't tried Tatos curry yet. Thanks for checking out my video.

For sure, I do consider myself lucky. We have a big selection of restaurants. I hope you find a few good Chinese restaurants in your area.

Finally got to the Angel Cafe. The Curry Beef Brisket, one of the best I've had, true tender brisket with marble fat and tendon! Some other restaurants actually use small chunks of tough stringy beef ! Rice Noodle Beef was great. Also tried Thai Chicken Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Pork. All top notch. The prices seemed $4-5 per dish more than the bill in the above video. Maybe lunch and dinner prices are different? No matter, the portions are larger than most other restaurants.

Great to hear you got a chance to try out the Angel Cafe. Thanks for the feedback. From what understand, the lunch portions are smaller than the full size entres in the dinner menu. Thanks for checking out my video.

Do you know roughly what year Angel Cafe opened? It just seems to be there forever. I asked the waitress and she didn't really know for sure. Thanks for checking out my video.

Just wondering do you put salt in the water when you boil the Brisket.!!

No salt required during blanching. Just add salt to taste before the finish.

At first it was more of a reserved "look at that". Compared to your other let loosed "look at that", such as with the chinese bbq meats. Ah... There it is! The all out "look at that" comes when eating the beef rice noodle dish.
