- It seems fair to say that Sony has established itself as one of the finest publishers in the industry, thanks to its consistently high-quality output of games over the past generation. However, even the best plantations are bound to have a few bad apples here and there - and this analogy very much stands true in the case of Sony as well. Many would agree that the two games in the Knack franchise were missteps from the console, resulting into underwhelming experiences.
Interestingly, the Japanese gaming giant has recently filed a new trademark for Knack, which has given way to a ton of speculation about a possible third entry in the franchise. Of course, a trademark renewal is by no means a confirmation of a new installment in the franchise - it's essentially just one of the many formal procedures to retain a company’s rights for an intellectual property. But the question of whether Knack deserves a third chance or not is one that's definitely worth asking and investigating in detail. So, should Knack 3 happen? - Ігри

Yeah, I think so. I know Knack 3 may seem like an impossibility right now, but in all honesty, why not make it a complete trilogy. Knack 3 can easily be the best of them all and make some real changes to the formula.
I enjoyed the first 2 if you played on normal but hard was crazy and easy way to easy

My son and I enjoyed Knack when I first got my ps4. So it has a special meaning for me. 2nd game was fun too. A 3rd game? I'd buy it... but I would be the minority for sure. Probably isn't fiscally worth it for the development cost.

I haven't played bug snacks and now my older son is 12. Went to 6th grade camp today.... and he plays more PvP (as they do) - But he still comes to ask me how I'm doing on Forbidden West. So a Knack 3 (aka Knack It To Me! - dad jokes coming in hot!) would give us a game to play TOGETHER. And that is worth whatever.

Hope we're not in too small of a minority for Sony not to make another attempt at Knack.
I think the 1st Knack was ok, but the 2nd was, indeed, a good game. They've really improved the mechanics with the 2nd one. In fact, I liked it some much that I platinumed it.
Also, we're always in need of good platforms, & it's not befitting for a console to not have a or two good platforming franchises.
As in your case, playing good co-op platformers can be a great bonding exercise among family members - also among friends.
So, it might be in the interest of both Sony & PS gamers if they gave Knack another chance. If not, I hope they supplant it with a better platformer, one like the Ori franchise from Xbox.
It's also nice that you're bringing up your son like how we grew up.

I really enjoyed Knack 1 and 2. I played knack 2 with my nephew, we enjoyed it. I really like the story. A 3rd would wrap up the story. But I also feel that way about Days Gone and The Order 1886.
I agree with you on all 3 ,I don't know if you played ps2 but they had 2 awesome games maximo,and maximo 2 both very hard but great games that it's a shame Sony ignores them
It’s not always just about the story sometimes it also matters how the games mechanic work and how the game feels to play. And let me say this knack felt like a video game

Third chance? According to videogame dunkey Knack is the greatest franchise of all time.
I always loved the first two games. And they didn’t deserve the hate they got, though I think it might do knack good to be a little bit of more of a mature game We are dealing with a several Ton stone and metal relic monster. Maybe pg 13 perhaps. Though this is only a thought.
While it would be cool to have a PG 13 Game with a big gentle giant (When it comes to humans), I personally think that keeping knack the way it is is all we need to be happy.
And also, If there will be a third game, Let's make sure the ancient civilization comes back. those were my favorite parts of the first game.

Honestly I played and beat knack 1 and 2 and honestly it’s a charming enough idea that it does work, however it just needs to take itself a bit more seriously. I played the second game with my 7 year old niece and she adored it. It just goes to show that it’s a great kids game but not strong enough for adults.. and in today’s market, you need to be able to be loved by all ages
I would love a 3rd Knack game to give the series a complete trilogy instead of a duology as although the 1st game wasn't the best I still really enjoyed it and the 2nd game was just a good game overall. They could take the criticism from the two games and improve upon them as they did with the second.

I like both games and never understood the hate it's one of those games that people decided on before they even played. Looking at the scores it got in comparison to the broken unfinished crap that released later cemented my disdain for mainstream reviews. It's crazy how much hate it received for being primarily a children's game.
Knack is underrated. TOO underrated. I think the concept is creative, and I also think the improvements made by the sequel were welcome additions to the franchise. The story is well put together, with the original managing to juggle 3 villains that tie into each other. And I think the series peaked in the finale of the original, kicking off the moment you collect your first giant relics. Seeing knack grow into a colossal size with the existence of thousands of giant relics implied throughout the story is one of the most fulfilling things any game could do.
Knack with all my heart deserves so much more, it’s just that people are invested in pvp and battle passes nowadays that they don’t even wanna bother playing the knack games
Knack is really an great game specially for young kids, my nephews aged 5 and 4 really love this game and the mechanics are simple enough for them to play.
The quality is very good, obviously for an adult audience there is better games
Here is an opinion that I have, which correlates to this:
A new game? Go ahead!
A sequel? If it needed a lot of improvement, sure!
A third? Only if it has a really good conclusion, and/or kills off the main character, to establish a sense of finality.

I actually have Knack 2 on my PS5, I need to check it out. It plays at 4K and 60 FPS on ps5, and looks like it's still is a great graphical showcase.
They are good platformers and good to play with family in co op. I would give it a soft reboot, give Knack a cuter voice and more cartoon sound, a redesign of sorts would be good as well. Look at the evolution in style of other platform characters.

As a kid this game was one of my top 3 favorite games, and I just came back to the second game a little bit ago. What I think the game needs is to try to make the levels better with more interactive content, enemy diversity, and more things like crystal knack. One thing is that the goblins get really old really fast; I think that an idea is that they can make more stuff on the relics, the part where you get to see the ruins underground with the giant eye was really cool.

With all due respect to the fans of both Knack games those games were disappointing unfortunately due to their sale figures and some flaws with the game itself on its overall design on what it tried to be it a shame it could've been something great but unfortunately it wasn't. So if they ever make a Third installment (which i doubt it) it has to be something phenomenal for it to stand out.

I had a conspect of what the story should be on three.
It should be based around how Knack became to be. Where the Relics came from, but the twist is the relic that knack is made of is a world ending threat. So i personally think Knack 3 should have a slight darker tone i dont know its just me
Knack 2 was one of the games i loved on the ps4 so much i completed it 4 times. When i got it as a gift i was sceptical because it wasnt a game genre i was used to playing (mainly shooters) but contrary to my expectations it was fun the combat was challenging but not too hard the puzzles were fun and i found the bosses interesting to fight against. I would definetly recommend it as a gift to your kids or loved ones .
I preferred the first game over the sequel as the trophies were too random in part 2. I would like a third game though.

What? Knack series was very very good in my opinion. I played the first and watched the second in a Let's Play and the second was superior to the first but both were reasonably good.

i want for knack 3 to be an open world based game where we could trvael to different places and be able to travel throughout the areas like most games (gta etc) it would be more fun with multiplayer aswell and do 1v1s with your friednds
Yes and should play like spyro one huge hub world or several smaller ones with levels in it challenges, mini games and stuff to collect plus gameplay wise should have feelings of progression like powers and upgrades trust me if it plays like that it will be very successful than what it's right now story driven linear game

To be honest I would like Knack 3. Sure, first two games are simple platformers for kids, but they are still enjoyable. From what I have heard they are good games for parents to play with their children. Honestly it is a shame that Knack has the reputation it does, especially since sequel was a big improvment from the first game.

Knack reminds of a Movie...what was it called.....??? Oh right, Megamind. When the movie first came out everyone gave it hate without any chance. A decade later, people found the authenticity in it and decided it was a Masterpiece(Took yall long enough). So, I feel like knack could have the same comeback. You'll just have to wait for like a decade....sadly. Knack will get the recognition it deserves just as Megamind did.
