I've been studying this offense for weeks now, I'm teaching it to my youth team. The best way to stop this is to train your linebackers and Db's to react to the guard and tackle pulling as the play is snapped. Those 2 guys are going to the point of attack. If you run 4-3 or 4-4 or even 4-5 defense, that will be good for your linebackers to flow freely once they react to the pulling guard and tackle. If they dont pull, then its probably a wedge or a pass, or trap.
We ran this in high school. You can have 2- 1,000 yard rushers and like 3- 400-600 yard rushers with this offense. My only complaint as an ex-Tight End / Receiver is THROW THE BALL!
My football team ran it for 6 years. We won 2 super bowls and a vocational super bowls. However over time the other teams figure out how to slow down a very close offense. The splits are non existant so the defense had a small area to cover. However we also included an optiopn offense which made it unstoppable once again. Love the offense. Go Southeastern Hawks Football!
The way that the interviewer asked the questions, "have YOU melded this and done that," it lends itself to sounding like the coach invented it. Although each coach may put his own twists and innovations in this offense, this coach knows -- as well as everyone that runs it knows -- that the double wing has been around like MrDawgs said. There is very little actually "new" in football.
@MrDawgs2224 I agree. The Double Wing came before the Wing T and the Wing Bone that he's talking about. I understand that he isn't familiar with it, but it's not like they're running same "brand new" offense. It's been around for a long, long, long time.
I was on a team that did this in eighth grade. We were awful. We didn't have very tight line splits so the linemen were terrible at pulling around to the other side on the superpower sweep. The wedge worked pretty well and some of the misdirection also worked. Our quarterback was given a Power Five scholarship when he graduated high school but we barely passed. Disappointing season. That superpower play was terrible for us.
Ok im sorry if i offended you but someone has been using this account i think my dad im 14 so yea i will stick to my video games but i also play gb at the HS levle for the freshman team and the double wing is a terriable offense because if you have a smart defence you will be shut down without a problem with a simple cover1 or cover 3.
Yeah my sons team went undefeated this past year coach got fined that year also for the score but it wasnt on purpose 1 of the kids forgot to take a knee but wee pitched in for the coach !!!!
To reply to the Gomer saying they could shut down this offensive with a cover 1 or a cover 3... Excuse me ,,a little fart just came out when I was laughing so hard. Do you even know what a cover 3 is ? I am a Head high school football coach from Texas now coaching in Colorado and a offensive coordinator for 9 years. If any off my Double Wing teams I ran for 3 years ever saw a defense coordinator led out with a cover 3 against my double wing, I would call a time out, walk over to that coach and say "Dude that will not fly , please change your defenses because if you don't we might score 50 before halftime. ....
Lmao. David, I am glad you said what i was thinking. lol..I am a middle school head football coach, and high school asst head coach. and i really had to read it a few times to make sure that was a serious post...Cover 3?? with 8 minute, running clock, i think we would have scored 50..lol...
For those saying it won't work are1 of two things lying to themselves or playing in a week league with no real coaches because this right here is straight fire i have never run this and only coached against it once in a tournament but understand the concept as i run the tru wish bone for the last 12 seasons i only was able to beat that team because my 4 line man (44 gap def) were animals and 2 of my linebackers were also freaks of nature but they were really beat up after the game which in turn cost us the championship the next game up ...my question is what defenses have yall ran against this o and have been successful at beating this offense
No its not, your defense has to stay home and not get sucked in by the fakes and stuff. Speed at the N and T's will obliterate this offense. It stops the play from developing. Finding the weak side and killing it stops half the offense. Happens all the time.
no double wing is an awesome o to run. you obviously dont know what your talking about. you start off with a powerpitch right left and the point of that is to take it out and go across the grain. then u can run up middle pass outside middle u trap its very hard to cover. so you sir are wrong. we as well run this and it has not yet failed,.
this offense is acctually terrible most of the time wen u get to 11 yrs old. my defense destroys this formation every time. we invite you to run it agaist us

The high school team I coached for last year won a state championship with the double wing. Very, very powerful running formation.

i absolutely love this offense
That's some good stuff right there!
36 pitch, 45 pitch, 23 trap, 24 trap, 38 scissors, 37 scissors, student body right, student body left, 18 boot, and Tight end dump passes
This is the same lineup we use on my high school football team
this is my highschool's redzone formation
Can I get a copy of the playbook?
this is how we run our offence but we have 1 yard splits and the fullback is 3-5 yards back

I agree man. Local high school and middle school here both have won 4 of the last 6 state titles using this system. It's hard to beat if perfected.
Our High school runs this, We had 28 win streak.. This year our seniors are 40-2 starting freshman year. Funny thing is we only have 1 black kid
where can you download this offense?
Paul Doughty were you successful in downloading this offense
@MrDawgs2224 then double team
GOOD OFFENSE FOR YOUNG PLAYERS
I thought the weak sides the opposite of the strong side... no matter what
Ok I'm no creator or expert on the offense. So you tell me.
No its not, your defense has to stay home and not get sucked in by the fakes and stuff. Speed at the N and T's will obliterate this offense. It stops the play from developing. Finding the weak side and killing it stops half the offense. Happens all the time.
Still probably didnt work

B/S None of those will work
No such thing as a wingbone... its called a flexbone
Name a place? my 9-11 yr old will blast your D all day long ( name your division )
double wing is horrible your not making hole just bringing everyone but it makes a pile i hate this offense 44 split would stop this all day or a 5-2
this offense is acctually terrible most of the time wen u get to 11 yrs old. my defense destroys this formation every time. we invite you to run it agaist us
sportsman1628 dang youre like 18 now
not gunna work
Sorry Shin, none of those Defensive formations will work , and if you think the LB's are key here you, are way off
Bullshit . Total bullshit. Try stopping us with that .lol
