Agreed, the most important decision a person can make in Martial Arts is who they choose as an instructor, always do your research.

Not many people have much in the way of street fight experience. Even fewer of us have trained and practiced TCMA for decades on top of street fight experience. We're in our 60s or older and our time is over. TMA is entering a new age of small clubs, few members, and pursuing excellence sans fanfare, or formal recognition. We will always exist as the Human Condition is naturally violent.

Man when it comes to martial arts Mike Soto knows what he is talking about and it is sad that a lot of martial arts instructors of today (McDojo instructors) don't take martial arts teaching seriously like Mr. Soto does. I have a black belt in Tang Soo Do karate and I would throw my black belt in the trash can and start over again to learn from Mr. Soto because the martial arts instructors where I live (Augusta, Georgia) they are a joke and they don't take martial arts seriously but they take getting your money for teaching martial arts seriously and it is sad and it is wrong.

Thank you for the kind words 🙏. It is very unfortunate that so many instructors take advantage of students and only see them as dollar signs instead of focusing on maximizing the student's potential.
