Went to the Friday Night Opry at the Ryman the weekend before it moved in the 1970s. Tom T Hall performed and he just made it look so easy

I can pretend I'm ok with Tom T being gone, but I'm not. Never be the same. A light has gone from my life.😿

I thought he would have lived into his late 80s or early 90s. So yes I was more than a little upset when I heard of his passing. Rip Tom.

I agree Jeff. His songwriting skills never diminished with age and bad health. A truly unique songwriter and singer that I feel so good to have known and listen to his music anytime I want to.

His concert at the Crazy Horse in Santa Ana 1980 was my first country concert. I sat right his feet front row. I had no idea of his personal troubles leading to his early and sad ending. RIP Tom.T.

I love this song...Tom T Hall was my dad's favorite singer. He loved everything TTH sung.
Listening to Tom T Hall brings back so many GREAT MEMORIES of my childhood from the 70s & growing up in Gordon Alabama...about 20 miles south of Dothan & riding around in my dad's white 1972 Chevy C/10 LWB pickup...no a/c...no p/s...3spd on the column & both windows rolled down & listening to Tom T Hall on 8-track or on 95.5 WTVY in Dothan.
I miss my dad so much.
    GREAT GREAT SONG...EVEN BETTER MEMORIES.
    Much love from Mobile Alabama.

      Clayton Delaney phrasing!
I loved Tom T. And his songs from just being a 3 year old kid in the 70s! He made an impression on me with his voice that when I hear him takes me right back to being a barefoot little girl singing Clayton Delaney or Watermelon wine along on the radio or outside playing or riding my big wheel singing my heart out with out the radio.

Tom was on the Nashville Now show once and he sang the song about old dogs, …something?… and watermelon wine. My niece and nephew sat around him with some other kids while he sang the song.

I am still not at ease with the how and why he committed suicide. Dean Hall his son from a previous marriage was quite vague on even announcing his death and how. No details, no story on any note, or any circumstance that may have to lead up to it. I have met him a few times and even spent time in his home performing. He and dixie were so happy together and their marriage was solid. I know he was lonely after she passed in 2015. Sometimes it can just take the best out of anyone. It is hard to live without someone you loved for so long especially when you are older. Another legend took his life some time ago. Faron Youg. Faron's son found his father in the same way as Tom's son did. So tragic. I still find it odd that Dean Hall deleted his social accounts before he decided to make the announcement about his Father.

Tom had many health problems. There is his autopsy report on the net if you search. The real killer was having emphysema. A truly horrible disease. Both my grandfathers had it and as a young kid I remember the pain it causes. I don't begrudge what he did and the way he ended his life, and I can understand why. He had 85 years and that is something.
