As a kiwi fan I'm so happy to see the Aussies doing well, for the first time in a while the comp is really exciting. International success is always dependent on the club strength of the nation. Les kiss has proven that the Aussies have the talent and capability, they just need the direction.
Wildkard, spot on about the Tackle. Immediate thought was that was thuggish. So late, there is no way he thought he still had the ball. Intentionally late regardless of the legality of the tackle technique. Dont think more than a yellow but should definitely have been a yellow.
It’s truly shocking that there wasn’t at least a yellow after that, especially knowing that exact sort of late shot would have got you 10 on the sidelines in the NRL - or in any other union match for that matter
This was an AMAZING match and such a nail biter but best put by you WC, “a beautiful game of rugby” This is what puts the hope and spirit back in Aussie rugby! Lots of love and respect from SA 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Finally we've played a game of rugby where we haven't given the ball away unnecessarily, played with mongrel and gone on the offensive by going for the try rather than goal (which we always miss). Love your work wildkard. I'm having a scotch to celebrate
Man that was disappointing as a Chiefs fan but at the same time great to watch. Congratz to the Reds putting us to the sword, particularly that first half, the score could have easily been much more in the reds favor. Chiefs shellshocked and forcing stuff needlessly under pressure. If that Drua game hadn't happened it would have been my favorite game despite losing.
Dmac has bruised ribs after the Crusaders game. He left that game early but was cleared to play as they werent broken. I also think he looked annoyed a lot during the first half, you could see at set piece he had to tell the centres where to stand. On the flip side Isaac Henry slotted in really well for us and made the gain line every time he ran. Big oppprtunity for him with Hunter to potentially miss the next game as well due to the 12 day stand down. HMP also a very exciting talent to see slot in effortlessly. Notice he loves to go for choke tackles.
good observations mate, he has really improved a lot, i just dont understand why they keep getting him to do things he isnt good at, like breakdown or kicking, players like van der merve never kick or hit the jackle and hes excellent at what he do best. thats what we need from him imo.
My only guess why Vunivalu is probably doing the kicking, even despite it mostly failing is probably because he “earned” the Wallabies squad last year. Since he has that experience now. Imma assume Les Kiss is giving him more opportunities to expand his game and see if he can improve if he gets a better chance at being selected again but this time by Joe Schmidt. Imma give credit where credit is due for Vunivalu since that disgrace of the performance against the Springboks on the Rugby Championship last year. He really has improved since that game on adapting to Rugby Union. It hasn’t been a full year and I notice that he much more aware about his role and what he is supposed to do on rugby union. On this game. Yeah he did commit a penalty that soon led to a try, the other try allowed was by Vunivalu. However I do believe thats the gameplan the coach wanted and failed once again. That’s my guess but still not an excuse for either one of the two. However he was one of the reasons for one of the Reds try. While almost potentially costing the team the game. He still contributed to why they won. Most importantly, the mistakes he made wasn’t by the lack of knowledge of the game but more on the unfortunate side which I do believe is more “better” and something that could be more easier to improve on then learning a different type of Rugby which I see that he doing his best at doing.
I swaer i answered this. But good observations i think the presure fir the wallabies spot is building and he needs those extra skills to get the spot. Even tho players like van der merve never kick or ckean out its good to see vini try to improve
Vini has always had a big boot on him! Even in that bok game he put some good long distance kicks in. The problem with vini was more defensively being out of position and not looking for work off his wing in attack.
I can’t describe how happy I am. I am just realising I simply support any Aussie team. They have to win. That will translate into strong Wallabies. Remember Eddie saying he needed winning mentality… hence getting rid of Hooper, Cooper etc… but ends up selecting Rebels ? Well, now we may have some real winners.
mate i was pretty much in tears after that, you are excatly right the winning mentality is not something u just say, and do when the selectors are watching, u gota do it every week. and the reds is starting to show that
From a Chiefs fan myself The Mighty Chiefs will bounce back from this. Still lots of rounds left till we hit the knockout stages. Fair play to the Reds for their win, as the Reds were just more desperate tackling a dangerous Chiefs side, like if their life depended on it. As the Chiefs moved ever so slightly closer and closer to the Red's try line, but just felt short. Also, Chiefs made uncharacteristic mistakes like....When the Mighty Chiefs was about to score the Chiefs somehow drop the ball a couple of times.
I'm not convinced by Vuni's attitude to be honest. I was watching him at the game and just before half-time when the reds were restarting after the Chief's penalty goal, Vuni put his mouth guard away (tucked it into his sock). I couldn't believe it, he just seemed to want to get off even when there were some minutes to play - and crucial minutes as it turned out.

Bledisloe cup will be exciting

yup, i woudnt be surprised if lynagh is injured after that. cracked rib or something

Looked like dmac was hurt hence chefs moved him to full back. And he hardly did anything

Huge win. Well done Reds.
Was an amazing game, thank you for your thoughts and review
thanks for watching

Whats your thoughts on potentially even more wallabies jumping ship to the NRL or France etc
Dont care good for them and their families.

Well said on that horrible tackle. How did that get through!!!
They need to cite it
A strong Australian side is good for rugby especially against our kiwi teams hope it can translate to the national team
Hopefully we sellout bledisloe

Dmac looked hurt out there not sure why they kept him on
Because if they lost dmac they're done. Ioane is a somewhat reliable 10 but very very far from being a game breaker. @@Wildkard
@@jlm0175 but dmac looked hurt wasnst doing anything from full back

No idea, mybe he just wanted to clear his breath
I would say the loss at the RWC to Fiji was a great motivator for Australian rugby.
100% also new coach new mind set
If only Tane Edmed could kick The Tahs would've beaten The Landers too......
but the referee really helped the tahs there
That late tackle on Lynagh is so dangerous and stupid. I can’t believe that dodgy referee of Okefee didn’t even give a yellow card.
I agree
It was a poes tackle
