I have been interested in Brave the Wild River since I heard about it last year. I'm still going to try to read it before the end of the year. I thought The Underworld was just ok, but i wouldn't be mad if it placed in the top three in the finals because there was a lot of really good information in there. Her passion for the ocean was really apparent as well.
@@FullyBookedMelissa I never would have read Brave the Wild River or The Underworld if not for the BTP. This is why I love participating in the prize so much.
These sound so interesting and I feel like the books that are in the finals are all things I would possibly pick up, which is a bit unusual for me with the BookTube Prize finals. Like you said, there isn’t one obvious front-runner from the bunch
I agreed with you about We Were Once A Family. I think what bothered me the most (I read this in the Octofinals) was the assumption the author made that birth families would treat their own children better than adoptive families. It put the adoptive agencies in the wrong and made the agencies "bad" . Her bias was so strong that I began to feel I could not trust her conclusions. I was surprised to see this in the finals.
How awesome you have already read the last six nonfiction books in the running! I really want to read Brave the Wild River and I am so happy Master Slave Husband Wife and Eve have made the cut. I also want to read The Underworld. I did not like We Were Once a Family at all for the same reasons you mentioned.
Ooh Master Slave Husband Wife sounds wild! I'm going to put it on my list pronto ❤️👍.

Hooray for being done 😀 some great books on the final list but I wish Doppelgänger was among them. Happy reading this month.
Congratulations on having read all of the finalists!
@@SupposedlyFun I have such a feeling of freedom! 😂
I saw a copy of King at a bookstore and was intimidated. I enjoyed your reviews and will add one or two to my list.
Don't let King intimidate you! It is a surprisingly easy, and fascinating, read!
@@BookishTexan Don’t let the size of the King bio intimidate you. It reads quickly. The audiobook is great too.
@@myreadinglife8816 I’ll try, but if developed an allergy to big books.
Great wrap up! I'm reading the finals right now and I can tell this is going to be a HARD one to rank!
@@awebofstories a really great group of books for the most part and so many different kinds of subjects. Good luck!
Master Slave Husband Wife definitely intrigues me! Congratulations on being done wooooo!

@@themusicsnob It’s lovely to see such a disparate group in the finals! I could see any one of them winning.
“You have to rank them somehow” 😂😂😂 - I defer to you. _Brave_ sounds great - but I think I’ll look into _Underworld_ first.
@@davidnovakreadspoetry The Underworld was a very gripping book. I didn’t think was interested in the deep ocean until I read it!

Hooray for being done! 🏆

@@bookwalk1 It is so fun to be able to sit back and watch everyone else reading for the finals! So many great books in the top twelve this year.
Master Slave Husband Wife was brilliant, right? So suspenseful, even though I know they weren't captured.
Now I need to look into The Underworld.
@@louisep1962 I love a nonfiction that can bring the suspense! The Wager did that for me as well. The Underworld is quite fascinating.
Hmm, I'll have to check out The Wager too.
