Except her persona is so different. That character was playful & flirty, and made a point of messing with the Librarian. Her persona was so different on Castle I didn't recognize her. It drove me nuts until I looked up her name to be sure.

haha totally agree. her wardrobe was given a quality makeover overnight. the show must have had like NO budget in season 1-- Kate's blazers weren't form-fitting, the dresses in her closet here and even the fuschia dress that she wore to the 1st castle book reading looked drab and cheap. Then voila: Nicole Miller number and other *nice* outfits appeared. so either they suddenly got cash money, or the writers smartly scratched the "portray Kate as a loser" idea. i'm happy w/their decision!
No the dress was definitely beautiful and sexy, it's her hair that screws it up, she should've put it back. I actually hate her short reddish hair in season one, you can't tell how beautiful she is. Glad she lengthened it and died it light brown.
I hate how the token black friend on those types of TV shows always had to say "girlfriend" or something like that. Looking back on it today, it's extremely cringeworthy writing and at times excruciating to hear.
