Hello Joe, You sure accomplished lots of work and updates on the excavator. Great work on welding and resizing the bucket tooth shank. And the window guard looks factory made. Excellent work Buddy!
Fantastic upgrades, I really like how you made the thumb so it could pick up a bucket. Great job repairing the bucket tooth. I am sure we spend more time cleaning our excavator than using it. Metric fine bolts are not that common over here either but they are much easier to get than imperial/standard fixings. Everytime I see you excavator I keep thinking we should upgrade to a bigger one
Thanks! I really like the size of this excavator, although I never ran anything else... I was told to not go under 4 tons by many people though. Bigger could be good in the forest. But around the buildings, not that much. Thanks!
Hi Joe! Those are great mods to the excavator! That was brilliant to ad a bar to the thumb to pick up and carry your other bucket! The side lights are a great idea too. I have side lights on my tractor and I love the 360 view I have with the front, side and rear lights on. Nice job on the protective cage for the windshield! See you on the next one!
Salut Joe!!! You are a lucky guy to have this excavator. It's a pretty nice machine for sure. Nice job modifying the thumb. Having the arc on the thumb and then the bar for picking up the other bucket will allow the thumb to be much more useful. Building up the sub-tooth was a big job eh. Lots of welding an grinding but it turned out good. The guard for the glass on the front of the cab will pay for itself to eh!! Well done. Thanks for sharing and take care!!
Impressionnant! Very cool mods. I haven't had to work at night with my mini-ex yet but those light sure look like they'd come in handy and increase field of vision all around. I'm curious to see how you like that thumb modification, wonder if you wont be loosing a bit of grip without teeth? I was also contemplating getting some metal mesh or some sort of protection for forestry work, I hadn't considered tempered glass! I wish I had your talent for fabrication and make them myself! I'd take a dirty garage over no garage any day lol
Merci! I've finished some work late at night. Would that be to bring back the excavator in the hangar. I tried the thumb last weekend and it was working much better. Even with the large smooth bucket. In fact, the round bar is usually not the part that contacts the large boulders, but the sides. I really enjoy bringing the 2nd bucket along with me wherever I go, and having that ease to grab it. Thanks!
Good job, Joe in building up that worn tooth adapter. ( Oh my, how many times I've had to do this on our front end loader! ) I got tired of welding up the adapters so we 'gave up' and replaced the whole lot of them, shank adapters teeth and all! :)
@@FromSteelToWood Now, when a person get's to that point of welding teeth to the adapters, it's time to bite the bullet and replace it all; how many times have we seen this! :)
Very nice work Joe !! Gets under my skin people use a bucket with the tooth on it !! Very nice building up the tooth where it was worn also the protection of the window on the front of the excavator will be very nice !! 👍👍👍
