    What really upsets me about this interview is that I’m going to have to fork out to resubscribe to the Daily Wire… Seriously, great discussion and well done by Winston to push back on the more contentious points: either the masses have been completely hoodwinked or this lady is a world-champion fabulist, and I’m inclined to think it’s the former.

    I can absolutely see what she's saying.
    I can relate to the idea that a media narrative that is negative tons you of the motivation to even try.
    When I left school in the UK the narrative in the news constantly was the unemployment figures.
    I absorbed the message that there weren't enough jobs, it was difficult, almost impossible to find a job, so I felt defeated from the outset so I didn't even try to find a job.
    If you're continually told that the odds are against you, it robs you if the will to try, your already defeated.
    So I can absolutely see this and how young black people must feel. Black people must feel so patronised seeing white people virtue signalling wearing t-shirts saying "Black lives matter"
    Of *course* they matter. Who on REALITY is saying they diont matter? The t-shirts are stating obvious facts.
    The people complaining about the "white lives matter" t-shirts need to admit they're angry because it makes them feel uncomfortably patronised by seeing such a self evident statement.

    Jews are not beyond critisism. If anybody claims they cant be critiqued, you absolutely know its not a fair game.
    If someone says something, too many assumptions are made. Instead of asking "how did you mean that?" in this age media jumps on every word and simply assumes what was said instead of asking.
    Its not a dialog its just a witchhunt.
    If you critique people in power, they play "victim".
    Kanye did not make any victims, he pointed out problems and you can make the observations to point at jews in power (not any jew, specific ones that happen to be jews).
    If decisions lead to massive amounts of abortions especially against black people, thats a BIG DEAL, to wave that away and distract by antisemetic claims, the entire issue is ignored ... the point is black people are pushed by media to have more abortions, and thats not a good thing at all, no matter the intentions.
    People benefit from all this, and if that benefits a selected few jews in positions of power, you have to question why they are morally fine with that.
    So to ask this questions should be NORMAL, to have dialogs about this is helpful, a net positive.
    The massive disregard for dialog and the supposed victim role of a bunch of people is overblowing the entire thing to distract from the initial pointed out issues.
    Its a massive irony that jews dont want to talk about anyting that critiques their behavior in power, its much easier to assume the victim role and benefit from it.

    Superb interview by Mr Marshall. He did not let points slip by in the fluent stream of practiced words from the interviewee; he put counter-positions firmly and politely; and when the interviewee had stated her position and no agreement was possible, he did not respond (as we see elsewhere) with excited repetition or outrage, but moved on to the next point. @Mina-vi5le 2 роки тому +4

      "and when the interviewee had stated her position and no agreement was possible, he did not respond" I cannot speak for how media is done in other countries. Having been exposed to Media Studies in higher education in the US, it is my understanding that an interviewer's job is NOT to get a guest to 'agree' or 'disagree' but rather to ask the questions and let the guest speak trusting the audience's intelligence and that they will arrive at the desired conclusions (Agenda Setting Theory-Communications). That does not mean that a particular agenda is behind the curtain, but in the event there is, there is still a mechanism to do that but it would not be considered 'ethical' if you are one that subscribes to the importance of impartiality in news reporting which is "JUST THE FACTS" without the 'sway' (agenda setting). In this regard, I do believe this was a good interview, but it's important to get away from this notion despite the massive swaying that occurs in the industry which is a slap in the face of many fine journalists and reporters who do their best to align with the guiding principals and ethics of the industry, that it is appropriate to 'tackle' a guest and get them to agree or disagree with the interviewer's slant. That is NOT quality media that is brainwashing. I cite this not based on opinion but on academics in the field and accepted professional norms ON PAPER.

      When I think of creative geniuses I'm thinking about Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Wagner. Sorry but Kanye doesn't even come close. Very few people do. I love plenty of music, but would reserve a term like "creative genius" for only the very best - a true genius, like Mozart, who could hear a concerto once then write the whole thing down. Or Yuja Wang who can play the most complex and technically challenging music ever written, effortlessly. Or Keith Jarrett who can improvise in any style he puts his mind to pretty much flawlessly, resulting in something most ordinarily talented people couldn't compose even if they had a lifetime. This isn't about taste or preferring one genre over another. It's about standards. Kanye is not a genius by any metric other than marketing.

    • @reefatbakht
      @reefatbakht 2 роки тому +9

      @@JoshWiniberg The elitism is screaming out. I consider Kanye a genius, along with people like Thundercat (who you may appreciate for his intricate melodies and multi-instrument-playing skills) because of the way he was able to consistently innovate the hiphop genre and created sounds with his beats that became the foundations of various defining genres within Hiphop. Kanye has a condition called Synesthesia which means he sees music visually. This allowed him to not only develop an encyclopaedic knowledge of musical pieces but also a deep understanding of how to create unique and innovative sounds, which he has consistently done. He created the sound of Jay Z and other early 2000s rappers that took hiphop away from "gangster rap" and something called "boom-box rap". He then started writing his own songs and helped define the "backpack rapper" sound which was all about more intellectual raps and rapping to educate. Then he created a sound with Graduation and 808s that defined essentially the "Drake" sound of rap and the sound of popular artists for the 2010s. Then he created the Yeezus sound which influenced the likes of Travis Scott, Carti, and loads of other rappers that fill out the "punk renaissance" we are seeing in music. His marketing and therefore his success is one thing. But to say that good marketing is the cause of all this impact within the music industry, to say it explains his ability to weave between and create new genres, and his understanding of music as it is today. That's ignorant. It would be more honest for you to say you struggle to take seriously anyone who claims that there is anything genius about hiphop, because it makes clear where the source of your elitism lies.

    • @JoshWiniberg
      @JoshWiniberg 2 роки тому +1

      @@reefatbakht Of course I'm being elitist. If the term "creative genius" isn't an elitist term then what does it even mean?
      There are plenty of excellent musicians and composers around who write well crafted, enjoyable music. You could argue Kanye is one. I would disagree but there's a fair discussion to be had there. But does it take musical genius to write music like Kanye? I would say no. If you want to present a song as an example of his genius please go ahead though, I will listen with an open mind. I have nothing against it as a genre. I'm a huge fan of electronic music. But do I consider Beth Gibbons or Thom Yorke geniuses? Probably not. Nor Stimming, or Bonobo, or Kiasmos or so many other producers or bands that I love. Amazing musicians capable of producing captivating music. But none strike me as a visionary nor technical virtuoso on the level of the kinds of people I mentioned earlier. They find interesting ways to use technology to produce novel sounds and craft great music. But the fundamental, visionary technological innovation happened decades earlier, with music concrete and the futurists. Modern producers, myself included, are really doing no more than tinker with aesthetics using tools produced by others.
      Using 808s to a slightly different rhythm and tempo to the Chicago house producers who were using them a decade earlier just doesn't seem like genius to me. Not that I would consider them geniuses either. Great music yes, with a novel sound. But embracing new technology doesn't make you a genius or a visionary. It's what you do with it that counts. I don't see what's so visionary about Kanye West that he fundamentality altered the way we perceive music on anything other than the most superficial level. Not like Wagner for instance who fundamentally broke away with hundreds of years of harmonic and changed the way we look at the structures behind music altogether. When you look at it that way it's hard to see how anyone can consider even the most interesting modern electronic musicians as anything but incredibly conservative by historical standards. But like I say, if you want to present evidence of his genius I'm willing to give it a go.
