My big brother always played music to fall asleep and this is the album he played non-stop. I grew up in Cold War Europe and every time I hear a song from "The Final Countdown" album it takes me back. I will forever associate Europe with big hair and the Chernobyl accident.
I was 10 years old growing up in Minnesota back in 1986, but I share the same associations that you do with Europe/The Final Countdown - it really signifies the beginning of the end of the U.S.S.R. to me!!!
