As a swede I disagree. There's a lot of bands who were better than Europe. Van Halen, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden just to name a few
@@lethayle3388 That is of course highly subjective. As a professional musician I'm actually quite impressed about their technical proficiency and consistancy, especially with Joey's singing and both John Norum's and Kee Marcello's (Kee is sooo underrated) guitar skills. The songwriting is also top notch. Then, of course, to each his own.
Best live version of "Ready or not" - for first and last time Joey tried to hit the original notes. Not a bad effort. After this concert in all tour dates till 1990 Joey sang the song with lower notes, simply to keep his voice, well damaged in TFC tour 1986-1987. TFC tour was their best tour ever, and their best performances ever - so many dates, almost every days Joey sang The final countdown and all other songs with their original studio-like high notes. Very demanding tour, hence his voice was partially gone. Still very high level on stage till their 1992 last tour before disbanding. I still visit their concerts, whenever possible, collected so many memories - since child. For me Europe is one of the biggest rock bands ever, in my top 5 in any case! So much hits and popularity, so much success from a band outside UK and USA - respect! Last time in summer of 2019, a great open-air festival together with Scorpions (they often do common dates, great friends obviously). I hope to see them alive at least one more time after these corona-shits.
I absolutely agree with you ! I'm from France, and a fan since the Final Countdown upset in 1986, and indeed, this is the best live version of Ready or not!!! Of course, in the top 5 of the best hard rock bands!!! Yours sincerely...
@@chuckythedoll4815 I don't know, they are so different. Technically/harmonically speaking, any Europe line up has been way more knowledgeable of hundreds of hair/glam bands of their time. Bon Jovi always had a more recognizable sound, while they have changed much over time (and that's ok, but not always the results were so exciting, imho). "War of kings" was a good album, anyway.
@@uffaize Bon Jovi and Europe were not so totally different. The two lead singers were friends and I believe they did tour together. Sounds were different of course, every band has their own sound, or they would all be boring, huh? In the era of the 80's, Europe was as big as anybody for a few years. Then they kinda fell off, but always had great music I thought.
@@chuckythedoll4815 Well, I think their musical reference points are completely different: if you listen to "The final countdown" or, even better, "Out of this world", their sound can eventually remind you some of the best symphonic Queen songs (eg. "Killer queen" era), while Bon Jovi is near to some Springsteen. Of course, I'm not saying they're directly comparable to Queen and Springsteen. What they sing is different too: Europe is less associated with social issues. My idea is that the two bands had in common the same fans (the same as Cindarella, Poison, etc.). Finally, Bon Jovi as a singer is more recognizable: his voice and his style improved but didn't change to much, while Tempest's style completely changed from the clean (eg. "Tomorrow") to the blues-inspired current style. As a young boy ('80) I was a big Europe's fan. Now they have less defects (they don't say 'yeah' every five words and they lost their pomposity; they eventually matured too), but at the same time they have lost some of their magics too and I don't know who's buying their records nowadays.
Kee Marcello absolutely is an amazing guitarist probably underrated and not as famous as he deserves I agree. As for the comparison between Europe and Bon Jovi is not that wrong in fact there are similar sounds and vibes in many songs but we can t refuse to admit one thing one big difference between the two. Europe could whip Bon Jovi s ass any day of the week twice on sunday when It comes to live performances. Bon Jovi is worth a thousand part of Europe. Joey s voice and strenght and power is totally unmatchble for the poor John
Couldn't agree more with you, Kees playing is really OOTW. Too bad he's no longer a member of europe. Would have been awesome to see both Norum and Marcello in the band.
When Europe reunited in 2003, the original plan actually was to have both Norum & Marcello in the band. However, Marcello withdrew since he didn't feel for it in the end. But although I really like Marcelo, I tend to believe it was better for Europe to continue with Norum. He was more the essence of the band, and he was there during their best periode. Marcello was a great replacement, but he brought a sound to Europe which I personally don't think did them any good. They were more "rough" with Norum.
Impresionante!!!
Inimitable Joey Tempest then and now, so beautiful and impressive emotional charismatic Joey.. Love you 🔥❤️💋💋 You are the best 💪👍🤗🤗 Thank you for nice video 🙏
Joey se destaca por interpretar las canciones con mucha energía y gran pasión, y esto esta es una virtud que mantiene hasta el día de hoy. Eso se llama ser " SER UN GRAN INTERPRETE" 🤗😘
He can sing better now that he's much older. That means he is a real musician: he has never stopped studying and improving, just like Bruce Dickinson and a few other human gods. Also the rest of the band has been improving and nowadays on live they are just amazing, perfect. They can play their old songs much better than they could twenty years ago, which was already fantastic. It's such a shame and a pity Kee Marcello isn't in the band any longer, but John Norum is quite good anyway.
Incredible album and incredible song, get's one going like not much else :-)! Joey sings better today than he did here actually, saw him last week in Berlin and wow!
Not at all, listen to "Tomorrow" he has an incredibile voice, but live sometimes happens that you aren't at the top, you can be with flu or sick or with rough voice, but you have to sing anyway. That's what is happenig here. Joey has an Amazing voice, one of the most beautiful in all history of rock.
4:43. E homem lindo!
I love it when someone wrights "eat shit Bon Jovi" in the now. Way back there were kinda media wars between the two bands, who was sexier and what not. :) I love both bands back then, now not so much. Seen Europe six times. Rock on!
Was one of the best frontmen of the Era. Joey is good enough to play guitar and sing great. Impressive artist. But this whole band rocks and not trying to sell them short at all.
Damn, I wonder what treasures RTL has still hidden in their archives. This was recorded for the late 80s German Heavy Rock TV Show MOSH. They were allowed to shoot some exclusive live material from German concert tours, airing three or four songs of the whole show interspersed with back stage interviews.
Супер группа! Это моей мамы троюродный брат Я грузин по отцу.но мама шведка из города Мальмё ! Джо супер! Ни одна гуппа столько ,,золотых,, дисков,хотя за одну пес
