Betty White's reasoning on "PACK" was impeccable. She noted that Allen told the other contestant to re-look at the word and then used the other players' guess together with her partner's clue to come up with Pack.
Betty White passed away Dec 31, 2021 less than 3 weeks before what would have been her 100th birthday. Betty White had a stroke nearly a week before she died, TMZ reported Monday. White's cause of death is listed as a “cerebrovascular accident” on her death certificate. That is a loss of blood flow to part of the brain. The death certificate, obtained by TMZ, says Betty White suffered the stroke 6 days before her death.
I love Betty Whites 60s outfits, just like I also love her outfits today(very homey) but the outfit in this episode is so classy and graceful, I have no words to explain it
I was only 3 when this particular program aired, but in retrospect, I've become aware of an amazing love story between Allen and Betty; how they exchanged host/panel banter, only to connect and then marry around the demands and parameters of the program, and then she continued be a regular guest when she wasn't in the audience. I imagine this topic has been written on to death somewhere, but it's an almost universal love story even up to his death, when I believe they both tried to keep him going on TV even as his body failed.
This is my favorite! Fantastic players and that third game where the celebrities played against the guests was extra special and unexpected. Also gave the guests another chance to win more money. 👏👍👍😀
George Grizzard portrayed George Devereaux, Blanche's deceased husband, in an episode of The Golden Girls. He played Devereaux's lookalike brother Jamie in another episode.
Of interest, Betty and George appeared in the Otto Preminger film "Advise and Consent" . Betty played Sen. Bessie Adams of Kansas and George played Sen. Fred Van Ackerman of Wyoming
You're one of the best Peter, I wish you can upload 2 maybe 3 episodes a day if you have a faster internet speed and if you have all the color daytime Password episodes through the finale that's available. And of the 4 weeks of May 1967 Los Angeles episodes with the purple set, the May 8-12, 1967 week is the only one that has the full week available. I wonder if those L.A. weeks were the first to have the set go darkened to close out the episodes.
Allen inadvertently helped Betty on Eavesdrop with his comment but it wasn't-anything nefarious. Part of the charm of the game is the casual conversation but only a player like Bety White would get that much out of it.
George Grizzard did an excellent job of concealing his homosexuality from the public. He was wise enough to know it was unnecessary to reveal it. Modern day actors should take a lesson from him. The public doesn't NEED to know your sexual orientation. We watch your acting because you are a good actor. Everyone is entitled to a private life.
Something tells me (unfortunately) most people these days wouldn't know about the story "The Pit and the Pendulum" and if they did they, unfortunately, would not likely know that it was written by Edgar Allen… Poe! :-(
4:00 perfect example of how terrible allen is ,time after time he gives out clues and not knowing it. Never mind the times he doesn't know where he is within the show. Nice guy, just not to swift!
i love how happy betty gets when she wins!

No one has ever looked THIS good at age 45 than Betty does here.
Betty was so enthusiastic and stunningly beautiful. RIP
Betty White is a miracle! So super intelligent; definitely a national icon, a gem and a legend!
A sweet and lovely woman. We were lucky to have her around for 99 years. R.I.P.
@@Crusader1815 Agreed!
Betty White is 99 years old; she was born on 1/17/1922. Ms. White is iconic; she’s a national treasure!

Betty’s dress is fabulous............beautiful, smart, trendy lady!! ❤️
I love it!
Betty White is smart!
Love Betty's outfit-would totally wear that today in 2018!
Suzie Thomas And look senSATIONAL!
New Viewer You would be making a great fashion choice. So many men and women lack that sense of style today. It is timeless and classic.
Betty was so pretty
Classic
I love Betty Whites 60s outfits, just like I also love her outfits today(very homey) but the outfit in this episode is so classy and graceful, I have no words to explain it
Betty is the best player I've seen so far. She's smart and quick.
AND she's 45 here! Insanely young looking.
Betty's excitement warms my heart
I LOVE BETTY WHITE... but who dosen't... smart, funny, talented actor... beautiful...
I bet the contestant Karen made a terrific social worker...smart, kind and compassionate.
Wow I can’t believe Betty White was 45 here! She looks amazing and cute outfit!
luv when they have the actors vs the contestants, don't see it that often
Love Betty’s dress!
I love Betty's color choices.
What a great figure Betty had for any age here.

The best gameshow of all.
Allen was a really pleasant host
Betty White was so sharp here!
She was! Also showed her beautiful voice.
betty loves to win! she is wonderful....best to u mam..
This is my favorite! Fantastic players and that third game where the celebrities played against the guests was extra special and unexpected. Also gave the guests another chance to win more money. 👏👍👍😀
I think they always should have kept that sequence.
Yay!! Thank you posting ! 😍love Betty white and Allen Ludden
George Grizzard portrayed George Devereaux, Blanche's deceased husband, in an episode of The Golden Girls. He played Devereaux's lookalike brother Jamie in another episode.
Oh YES, that's where I've seen him!!! Thanks!!!
Wow, that's nearly a family reunion!
Hm I've watched the Golden Girls a bunch I don't remember a George feature! I'll have to find that episode 😊
It was a different world! 😉
Back in the 60's people wanted to back to 50's, 40's and 20's . People don't realize how good they have it till it's over .
That was fun to have a third game!
0:00-4:15. That’s why Betty is the queen of the game shows.
Love you, miss you, Betty. You were the best!
Still is.
She’s still alive and well. My grandmother is too at 92!, 😃

Film or play?
@@m.e.d.7997 Otto Preminger's film of it in 1962. Also starring Henry Fonda and Charles Laughton
The judges really let Karen slide on the lightning round clues.
Yeah, mate for mate
@@mehboobkm2018 and “old mans” for pipe.
What fun to experiment and have the celebrities play together against the contestants.
Betty is a genius
RIP Betty
Dick Friedman was really a handsome guy with a nice smile. I bet he did very well in life - handsome, smart and personable.
He certainly was good-looking! ❤
I don't watch much TV nowadays, but I'm guessing they probably don't talk much about a great night in the theater these days/anymore like this!
Bettys very pretty
love ya betty
I laughed out loud when he called George “Dick” accidentally and Betty said “That’s a bad word” 😂
Dick was a common nickname for Richard back in the day.
@@m.e.d.7997 just didn't want to call anyone by that name if their last name is zucker
Allen proposed to Betty 2-3 times before she said yes!
She's worth the persistence, I think. Such a charming lady.

Betty had a sitcom in the 1950's with Jim Backus playing her husband. She was like 24 when she did that program. 1955-ish.
That would have made her 33, not 24.
Life with Elizabeth.
George was great in The Twilight Zone episode The Chaser.
7:15 “dick.. i mean george” “that’s a bad word” I DIED 😂

Ludden just giving all kinds of hints to Betty
Do you realize that they were married?
@@janishart5128 i think thats the point
I didn't get the hints?
Betty was very sharp, but played ditzy Rose very well. All acting.

Clue for mate is mate!
George's first partner is real bad
Yeah and George knew it.

What a bad player that other guy was, he thought George Grizzard's clue for 'eavesdrop' was 'over here!'!
Did he mean overhear ? 🦜
Karen used 2 words twice in lightening round. Is that ok?

As a clue for "census" I would've said "republican gerrymandering"
That's two words 😉
Betty looks strange with brunette hair!
She looks fantabulous!
@@beverleyderby1536: Yes, I agree - it's just that we're used to seeing her with blonde hair.
