I’m so glad this was recommended to me. I’ve never heard of this art form but now I’m intrigued. I’ve got a butternut squash in my fridge, a wood burner in my closet, and a whole lotta temptation in my soul🙂‍↕️

😅haha! Eat the squash it will be delicious! Give it a try (once you get the right kind of gourd, that is!) 👍👍👍

I would love to see the gourd with the deer after it's finished!

Thank you that was very helpful. My question is what air filter would you recommend? A table top, quiet one.
    Thanks again

I cannot really recommend one there are many out there and I have only tried the one I got so cannot compare with others. The one I have is by Blueair you can get it on amazon. It is pretty quiet on the lower speeds. There are smoke extractors on the market especially for pyrography that may work better but I have not tried them. It really depends on your needs.

Great information on working with a gourd. Thank you. I haven’t touched my gourds for several years and maybe need to get back to it. I have a lot of gourds from Welburn gourd farm and ones I have grown myself. The ones from Welburn are very thick. What do you use for the inside of your gourds? Hearts and Flowers coming your way. ❤️💐

Thanks, you’re so welcome! I use a hand tool scraper to clean the seeds and big pieces out. Then I use a gourd cleaner ball attached to a drill to get the stubborn stuff and smooth out the interior. Yes the Welburn gourds are wonderful!
