Anyone else have an issue with their motorcycle that tends to rear its ugly head from time to time? Funny or not.
Yep. When they get loose like that it sucks. I actually went back to my stock mirrors and, so far, no more issues.

Dude, being in the 60’s sounds like heaven! With that said, I’m with you on weather talk. When people here complain about the heat I’m like “it’s hot every summer; it’s TEXAS!!!”
I’m going to start a 90’s cover band and name it Fyerfighter’s Left Mirror. Fortunately I don’t have a recurring issue with my bike, but I do have a few things with my truck. It annoys the crap out of me. I had bad luck last weekend in a ride. I was doing some [clearing throat] “spirited riding” on the freeway and my back end started getting squirrelly. At first I thought it might just be the pavement, but then it started getting worse. That’s when I realize “I think I have a flat rear tire.” I cut across to the first exit and stopped in a parking lot. Yeah, it was completely flat. Fortunately at that point I was only about 15 minutes from my house. I was also fortunate that it happened while I was on a straight freeway instead of on the twisty backroads I had been riding earlier. 😬
I’ve been trying to reply three times now but it’s been a busy day.
We had a rough week last week to remind us that the summer is still in full swing, but this week is looking great in the 70’s for highs. Loving it and taking full advantage on two wheels. As any old person would say, ‘It’s not the heat that gets ya, it’s the humidity.” Yes, grandpa we know this. Texas on the other hand… No thank you! Hahahaha
I’ll buy that CD or cassette tape. Hopefully you sing better than I do but I can see the crowd holding up motorcycle mirrors instead of cell phones. I am pleased to hear you don’t have issues with your MT-10. That’s still a new bike for you! As for the truck, that could have been bad especially since you were traveling at freeway speeds. Definitely under the speed limit and not keeping up with Texas traffic. That poor truck has been through a lot. My 07 is getting back into shape from hanging out on the side of my house for a few years. Nothing like a good truck and yours will be back to [clearing throat] “spirited riding” in no time. Just make sure you have a spare in case MURPHY’S LAW returns for an encore.
Lastly, how bout that @mymidlifemoto fella. You stay in contact with him outside of UA-cam? I knew he was starting a new job a little bit ago. Hope all is well on his end.
@@FYERFlGHTER no no no, the flat tire was on my MT10 while doing spirited riding. I had to get my wife to come pick me up and take me home so I could get my trailer and go back to get my bike. Lol It was an interesting experience. My wife was a little concerned when I called her because, of course, I never call her when I’m riding. Just before I left for that ride we found out a friend’s uncle died in a motorcycle accident that morning. The driver of the truck that hit him is being charged with reckless driving. Anyway, because of that, I immediately led the phone conversation with “I’m completely fine. I just have a flat tire and need you to please come pick me up.”
My truck just does stupid things like have little rattles here and there that drive me absolutely insane. Overall I really can’t complain about my truck.
Yeah, I communicate with MyMidlifeMoto every now and then away from UA-cam. He’s doing well. He just got to a point where making UA-cam videos seemed more like a job than a hobby so he’s taken a bit of a break. I know he went out to record a video the other day…but his GoPro battery wouldn’t work even though it was fully charged. Classic GoPro. 😏
I have random footage of things I’ve thought about posting as shorts…but then I just don’t follow through. Lol I’ve told my wife I just need to do more trips because that’s the content I like to make. 😂
Well that took a dramatic turn. Damn! You got really lucky on that one and I am glad to hear under the circumstances that it was JUST a flat tire. That would explain the spirited riding.
The motorcycle community is a tough one and certainly not one for the faint of heart. Extremely unfortunate news about your friend’s uncle. It’s wild when you hear about motorcycle injuries or fatalities just how often it is the other driver’s fault. There really is no such thing as a fender bender while on two wheels. It’s the freedom of the open road and the open “cab.” No seatbelt, no restraint but your own free will. Some would call us all stupid, but they just do not understand. Really not worth explaining but you and I know and I would image if someone read our comments here 10 years from today they would feel the same. Sorry for you and your wife’s loss along with countless others…
Glad to hear about Moto Man. No big deal. It should never feel like a job and I have zero stress because I got it in my head to post every Sunday that I can and not EVERY Sunday. I was posting on other social media sites but honestly, it is just too much. Would rather do my thing here on UA-cam at this point so I get it. Once you get over the mindset that you have to post and just do it when you want to, the stress melts away. I’d like to still be doing this in a decade plus so I’m in no hurry.
I’ll be looking forward to the next trip you take then!
I'm not a big fan of the mickey mouse mirrors on my shadow, but I have no idea how you see anything in those. They look cool though. Keep your head on a swivel I guess. Glad to see your still kickin it. I rode this morning and it was CHILLY! I'm gonna have to break out the winter gloves soon at this rate. LOL
Well, I will say your Mickey Mouse mirrors work better than mine at night. I replaced them to free myself of what chrome I could and I do like them, but I added a degree of difficulty at night. Despite their size, you can see a lot of what's behind you. The lights bounce around a bit from other's headlights, but that's the whole beauty is pain. Don't quote me on that if I ever miss a car please. 🤪
I'm in the market for winter gloves. Got a couple of choices cause frozen hands prevent the whole shifting and braking. Kinda important while riding. Stay warm and stay safe out there!!! 💪
@@FYERFlGHTER Ooh, if you have a chance to check out Odin Mfg gloves, they make a gauntlet glove that works well. They are not heated gloves, but they are water / wind proof and comfortable. For whatever reason, motorcycle gloves are sized weird and not always good on movement.
