Absolutely amazing video man, being a carpenter this is a fantastic little project for me for the summer! Me and my friend definitely going to build one of these and fish all summer.
Awesome job!! I just ordered this boat and will be doing a similar build with it. Thanks for the great ideas, especially the motor mount extension. That's friggin brilliant!
We have a caravan so have done something similar, worst problem was the motor tipping back into the water which your longer mounting rods clearly fix the problem 👍
Seriously I've watched a dozen of these mod videos and yours was the most professional of all of them. And there were lots of cool ones. You have a talent. A guy could buy all parts for this boat for less than $500 and sell the boat for $995 and people would snatch them up. Not sure if you could make a good enough hourly rate to make it worthwhile. I wouldn't enjoy it myself, but if you wanted, you have a side job ready for you and you would earn spending money no doubt. Just curious since I'm building one this winter for the summer...how many total hours do you think you spent actually laboring on this project? Not the waiting around for next steps. Just imagine you had everything you needed...no trips to the store or waiting for paint to dry, etc. Under 10 hours? 50 bucks an hour wouldn't be all that bad. You'd get good at it, too, if you had an assembly line going...Now I'm going to quit my job and do this full time LOL. Make like 200 a year and make $100k extra LOL.
I definitely had less then 10 hours in it. I have a decent wood shop so I was able to do it pretty fast. But for most people you could do this with a skill saw and jig saw. I watched alot of videos of other peoples before I decided to do mine. It works out great because I pull my camper and it fits nicely in there and I can still take it out on some of the small lakes we camp at
No way under $500 The boat itself is $280, 55lb trolling motor + battery is already over $500 already, I’m at $1086 so far and haven’t got materials for the floor yet
Ended up using it for a couple years and never had any problems till a mouse ate a hole in it when It was stored for the winter, but on the water no problems
Stability of the boat is fine as long as you do the 1 piece floor and not 2 pieces. Stability of the motor mount without the bars is not good the motor tends to want to tip back and put a lot of stress on the boat. Putting the bars in helps from it doing that.
@@vgsuri not sure what you mean there already holes in the transom mount and I just used those holes and a drill and drill bit to make the holes in the conduit and put bolts in.
So far I’m at $1089 and I haven’t started on the floor yet that includes, boat, 55lb trolling motor, trolling motor mount, battery, battery box, battery charger, troll wire extension, anchor. Everything is from Amazon
Wouldn't 1/2" be ok in a Mariner 4 because u already have a separate floor that comes with it .. i can see why ur boat needs 3/4 because u don't have a floor...
Yea the mariner comes with some sort of a hard floor so 1/2 would probly be fine, also you could try a 2 piece floor to make it easier to transport. I tried the 2 piece and it just wasn't sturdy enough to be able to walk and move around the boat.
@@jruth0506 i just went and got 2 sheets of 1/2" plywood, not the cheap stuff, real plywood.. the mariner is over 8ft so instead of leaving it short on each end I will do it the right way.. alot of videos show that 1/2" in 2 pieces makes the mariner solid to walk on when using the floor that mariner comes with..
Hello, nice modifications for your boat... I have a seahawk 4 and think about similar modifications with the wood floor and I'm interested how you fixed the middle Box?!?
That is the craziest thing I have seen. I mean your work is great but Intex boats are barely more than pool toys and it would now be so top heavy i would suggest proper lifejackets at ALL times
Absolutely amazing video man, being a carpenter this is a fantastic little project for me for the summer! Me and my friend definitely going to build one of these and fish all summer.
Thank you it worked out awesome and was definitely enough for 2 guys and fishing gear.

That is the best looking one ive seen yet. Great job bro!!!
I agree... some boat just had to much going on... this boat is simple and neat
Great looking boat! I think I’ll model mine after it!
Loving this well done bro
What are the dimensions of the center console? I love it!!!

Excellent set up
If you radius the edges you really don't need pipe insulators around the edge. It looks good. I wish I had a truck so I could do a one piece floor.
Super nice! Just had an inquiry where you bought your chairs
Amazon
Very nicely done.
hello, can you write the dimensions we used for the floor? 😇😇👋🏼
Nice job dude can u make a bid on how you hooked up the electronics
I just bought a fuse block and wired everything to the fuse block and hooked the battery to it, everything runs on 12v
So looking back, how well did it hold up; did you ever have a catastrophic failure?
Ended up using it for a couple years and never had any problems till a mouse ate a hole in it when It was stored for the winter, but on the water no problems
Building one of these soon myself, nice motor mount idea. How’s the stability?

Do you have a video of making these mods? Thx
now does the floor make it sturdy enough to stand like have you stood on it and walked without wobbling over and feeling like it’s going to tip ?
The 1 piece floor made it stable enough to walk around, I tried a 2 piece floor and it was very unstable.
Hey how did you get the 1/2 poles to fit, they’re to big for the holes
Can i get how built center console? And floor dimensions. Thx.
Very nice 👍🏻
Great look ! Where did you purchase boat electrical wire and quick release ?
ebay
Just got mine, now im working on the floor, i used vinyl tile instead of carpet so that way won't stink if got wet or rain
zakaria600 using vinyl flooring sounds like a good idea. May I ask, how did you address the plywood edges and bottom?
drb52photo you could either buy an electric sander or rent one. And just sand down the corners
120
Great job !!!!
How thick is the board that you used?
3/4”
How much weight can that boat hold
gabriel ruiz it is rated for 1320 pounds
How long are the .5" pipes ? Awesome set up!!
I think I just bought 2, 4ft pieces
@@jruth0506 how did you drill the holes in the conduit? , thanks
@@vgsuri not sure what you mean there already holes in the transom mount and I just used those holes and a drill and drill bit to make the holes in the conduit and put bolts in.
Is it still holding up after 4 years?
Yes
@@jruth0506 wb after 6 lol
What poles are used for the boat
1/2 Emt conduit
Superclean!
Does the boay flexing when passing the wake???
it's not that bad, I take it on inland small lakes, so there is not alot of wakes from bigger boats.
nice
Nice !
Price too
$159 USD on amazon this week, normally $199 (last week)
How much would this run somebody

I also made an assembly of a modified boat DID you see THANK YOU Brasil
Blue model is nice!
Is that a 50lb 36" motor?
boulengerochromis 55lb thrust, 36in
Is your floor one piece or two?
1 Piece, I tried a 2 piece the first time and it was very unstable when moving around. The 1 piece ties the whole boat together and is very stable.

15 mins lol more like 45 mins

I used it for 3 years with no issue. With doing a full floor is was very stable with 2 people on it.
Mine is better
👍
