    Used to do fashion photography - the stitchy is an upsold Dennison gun for punching tags into clothes. It looks like your needle wasn’t locked in. I would never use it regularly, especially on thin or delicate fabric because you’re punching holes and damaging the material every time. Fashion tape makes way more sense and is also way more portable.

    • @AnnekeOosterink
      @AnnekeOosterink 6 місяців тому +4

      Yeah, or literally a few basting stitches. You can hand sew delicate fabrics and carefully remove the thread without issue or damage. Easier to learn as well, and a needle doesn't get jammed and takes up way less room.

    Certified curly girl here here who is NOT about a long hair routine in the morning here! Fine hair, been dealing with thinning (31 was a stressful year), and 3a-c curls (think 3/4 inch curling iron for the loosest and ringlet-wrapped-around-a-pencil for the tightest). I've been loving the Verb Curl Foaming Gel for the past year. It is lightweight enough to give volume at the root, but has enough hold to get me to day 3 before a full refresh.
    I pair it with either the CurlSmith Weightless Airdry Ceam or the Amika Hydro Rush Leave-in Conditioner. Both are great

      Miss Jessie's jelly soft curls is also amazing. Very good for a softer hold but still has some definition and doesn't weigh the hair down. I use it for my daughter and I. We have thick but fine wavy/curly hair and we can't do long routines. I just comb it in to get some clumps then lightly scrunch and air dry and it looks gorgeous for the day.

    The Stitchy is a tagging gun. Looks like the needle in yours was either improperly aligned or it came defective. Usually they come with a backup needle or two. Used them all the time when I worked in the fitting room at Target. It's not uncommon to have an issue the first time it two you use it. What I will say is this, that pokes a hole in the fabric. Be mindful of where you're putting the shard (the plastic piece that gets shot out of the needle). We would always place the tags on a hidden seam, that way if we did end up inadvertently damaging the fabric it was in an area that's much easier to fix.

    OK but the dingle dangle would be brilliant on a stroller because kids literally drop the toys alllllll the time on the floor and this would solve that problem.

    • @AnnekeOosterink
      @AnnekeOosterink 6 місяців тому +5

      Or you can use those clips and hooks that already exist and are way cheaper, and can be attached to any toy that has some kind of loop or clippable area. Like, my sister has the little clips that go on clothes with a pacifier, or she clips a little blankie on. And she has these C shaped chain links that can be attached to the handlebar of a stroller (or any pipe/bar/railing really) that clip onto each other. So long as the top has a tag or loop it can go on the links as well.
      The dingle dangle only really works with it's own toys and attachments.

    You would only need to rinse your mouth out with water if you were doing a wine tasting because if you brush your teeth right away you're going to brush away your enamel because wine is an acid. So if you continue to brush your teeth after every single wine tasting you won't have any enamel left

    23:54 we called these “swiffers” when I worked retail. They are always a problem. They work but then they get clogged, break, the needle comes out. We used these to attach our price tags, etc. push the pin through the pieces of fabric all the way. Then pull the trigger. It should then be attached together.

    The Funkkoff is a little late to the game. For years, I’ve bought Colgate Wisps and similar disposable toothbrushes from places like Walmart. These are small brushes, pre-loaded with toothpaste, some with a floss attachment. Now, I’ll say, the Funkkoff is reusable and easier to disguise, like a lipstick tube. But the Wisp is small and can reach back teeth easier.

    Like others said the "stitchy" looks exactly like a pricing tag machine.
    One downside is it creates holes in the item so I don't think it's a great product to create temporary stitches bc each of those "stitches" creates a hole.
    When I worked retail we were trained to only use that in the tag of an item or if there was no tag a sturdy seam pref in a pocket that way it wouldn't damage the item too much so just a heads up!
    also we had the same issues u did all the time so it's not you.

    My extensive analysis…lol:
    The toothbrush thing seems made for women, who frequently wake up somewhere else, therefore adding that to their standard handbag arsenal.
    The baby distraction thing basically ruins your hair, makeup etc., therefore not useful out & about.
    The Tucky is basically straps from motocross goggles “remastered” for a different task.
    The Stichy is basically that tagging/pricing gun “remastered”.
    The other stuff is quite nice.
    Fun & entertaining video as always!
    Best wishes ❤

      I don't agree I'm the toothbrush thing. I think it would also be nice for those of us that work at different locations and therefore don't always have a bathroom available after the lunch break. I would also think it's possible to just use bottled water to rinse and spit out somewhere outside.
      I would have liked it when I had to visit different salons to check non clients.
      Also the baby distraction thing: even though I would have needed this with my babies, don't forget fathers invented it and not all women wear makeup

    • @asc23channel
      @asc23channel 6 місяців тому

      @@BabyRastasaurus Fair!
      Although I don’t completely understand the “work in different locations”, there are already foldable toothbrushes available, brushing teeth after every lunch (not just morning/evening) is not too common and it specifically has the form factor of makeup items.
      Indeed I agree, but it didn’t say anywhere, that the item was designed only for men/fathers. Or I missed that part. I’d say one could expect men to design a parenting item, that can be also used by women. Otherwise your target consumer base is already down by 78%.
      You have valid points though!
      Best wishes ❤️

    I saw some mention the guns used to attach price tags to clothes but I also used to have a Buttoneer, a similar tool that had two “needles” and short plastic tabs. Great for quick emergency fixes, like reattaching buttons when you don’t have a needle and thread. I kept mine in my work locker. We also discovered it could also be used to quick hems to our pant legs which, as work uniforms, we weren’t allowed to roll up.

      Keeping a needle and thread in one of those travel booklets (or just an old chewing gum tin, or other small box or tin) seems easier to me. Takes up less space, and honestly, I'm less likely to put this whole thing with the plastic in a bag than a tiny cardboard booklet with a few needles, thread and safety pins.

    5:30 if funkk off is sitting in the bottom of my purse, it's for sure gonna have dirt/cheez it crumbs/ fuzzy balls/ etc go right through those holes and get stuck to the brush. I'm guessing, like you said, the holes are for air flow however I think a fine mesh over the holes would have been smart. I'm a mom and I never know what's at the bottom of my purse. Maybe I'm not their target market as I'm not out boozing it up at wineries, but I should be. Every mom should have this in every single bag for brushing on the go. However without fluoride is not something I'm gonna reach for, for myself or my kids. Additionally 30 uses isn't very many. All these semi-disposable items really make me think about the wastefulness of products like this. I'd rather pack a travel tooth brush and mini tooth paste that would last wayyy longer plus it has fluoride in it.

    We used to call the retail iteration of the Stitchy a Manila gun in the store where I worked. You need to take the stitches out first, and then attach the needle. There should be an open side to the needle that needs to align with the stitches (which moves forward when you use it) and a little divot into which the small lever on the front of the gun pinches it in place. Then add the stitches so that the bottom one is inside the needle and can be pushed forward. Think of it as a stapler for clothes.

    Buttoneer made many years ago (70s) and definitely based off a denison gun. Originally marketed to put on buttons that have popped off.

    The Stitchy looks like they slapped a different label on the "Buttoneer," which is designed to quickly replace buttons. It even has the same annoying difficulty with bending the prong pieces, but it works great in a pinch if you don't mind making several attempts.

    Wondering if you'd consider reviewing the Luxe at home lash lift. Understand if not bc perming your lashes at home seems dangerous. BUTTTTTT it also seems like if it's easy and safe it could save so much effort like imagine waking up with perfectly tinted and curled lashes?! Truly "woke up like this" :o

    My curly hair is very much like your niece and I love the OGX coconut curl mousse is wonderful, It makes my curls soft and defined while allowing me to comb through them the next day and I will use a small amount with some water to re-wet my curls for extra definition after they are dry. no crunch, no frizz (chef's kiss)

    The stitchy is just a copy of the micro stitch. I bought a micro stitch years ago and I’ve loved it ever since. Mostly I use it for crafting but it’s helped with fashion on a few occasions

    Your niece has very slightly wavy hair. Curl creams are best for people that have curly hair ie: curls from the root. If she is looking for definition, a foam is most likely her best option. It will form a crunchy cast once dry, but that’s okay and the desired result! Once completely dry, she can break up, or scrunch out the crunch, for lovely waves that last.

    Interesting episode. That FunkkOff thing seemed kinda useless compared to the travel toothbrushes you can find in the $1 section at most drug stores. I can see it selling in bougie places where people feel they need their plastic travel toothbrush to look fancy, so wineries seem like a good idea.

    I got the glow recipe gift set for my bday last year and agree that it is lovely, BUT be careful if you have sensitive skin - it made me break out so bad 😞 I wanted to love it but couldn’t keep using it😩 the fruit additives are cute and may have some benefits but they can also be irritating/clog pores so just be mindful of that 🩵

    Colgate makes little disposable "toothbrushes" that are called Wisps and i think those are better than this tooth whitening thing. They remove surface stains, dont require rinsing, and you just toss ot in the garbage when youre done.

    Yeah that’s just a swift tack gun used to attached hang tags, extra button bags etc to garments. That “stitchy” is just a rip off. It’s not used for “sewing” or “tacking” garments at all.

    Not completely sold on the toothbrush. I have a toothbrush and a small (travel size) toothpaste in my purse and it's fine. There's also the chewing toothpaste too if you don't want to carry a tube of small toothpaste. Seems it only gets the front teeth. The little holes it's fine, maybe if the brush is more on the side or extending so can clean the other teeth as well, that would've been much better as it's compact.
