- In a special multi-episode "Iyanla: Fix My Life," spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant attempts her first mega-fix --- traveling to the Atlanta area to help a man reconcile faltering relationships with his children, their mothers, as well as his parents. 44-year-old video producer, Jay, has fathered 34 children with 17 different women, in addition to adopting 9 other children. Jay finds it difficult to provide for his kids and it is clear that he will not be able to successfully fulfill his role as a father to 42 children, until he addresses the underlying reasons behind his past reckless behavior. In one of her most challenging cases to date, Iyanla must help Jay come face-to-face with feelings of emotional abandonment by his parents which have left him hurt and resentful. The emotional void stemming from these unresolved issues have locked Jay in a seemingly endless negative cycle of women and children. Through a series of emotional face-to-face discussions, not only must Iyanla address the wrongs caused by Jay's parents that are preventing him from moving forward, but she also must address the pain and resentment that his actions have caused for his many children and the mothers of his children, who are upset that Jay has failed to step up to the plate as a father.
