didn't wanna say it but glad someone did, in all fairness imma big him up for being the DON who creates content for shooting and cooking together. Fucking Edison 💡 merge foodies and hunters all in one place. BIG LURVV
Thomas you are, without comparison, the most enjoyable channel I've stumbled across this year. This Game Eater series has been so calming to follow, incredible nature, great people, great food. I hope to see more like this in the future. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Very polite young lad. He will go far in his game keeping. Great to see him asking tom questions about the cooking the young lad is genuinely interested
I think this is amazing. Aside from how amazing the whole video is, and how much I wanna eat that delicious assortment of seasonal foods, I think this sort of enriching experience holds a lot of meaning to David and other young folks. It definitely teaches you a perspective that you had no idea was under your nose this entire time. This is what I really love about the Game Eater series, it's local, it's wild, it's truly a feast for the senses, one that makes you appreciate the sublime beauty of nature and its uniqueness in each environment. Also Props for the visuals and the music! I really loved the cinematography.
What an amazing video the score was bang on the cinematography brilliant captured it so well, the hunt was great shot like a gentleman was that a silver pigeon ? Man i always had one on my list beautiful gun. Little lad and dad were such nice gentlemen. Your talking tv level here really good .
An interesting grill option similar to the small one Thomas uses is a Cobb...another channel I watch uses it and it comes in both charcoal and gas options. Could be a cool option.
Hey tim, super grateful for yer content. Was a chef many moons ago but feel im to long out of it to go back. I’m making a game soup for my 50th in two weeks. Pigeon, venison and pheasant. Have you any suggestions of an additional ingredient to give it that extra special flavour? Anyhow best wishes to you and yer team. Blair fae scotland
You do have the “Common” touch but sure your an aristocrat?I have met loads working my dogs all over UK?Just like your approach to life .Non shooters just don’t know what they’re missing!👌👏
Curious @thomasStraker - this was a driven duckhunt with pass shooting, do estates hunt over decoys with calling as well or is that just not a think in the UK? I have seen upland driven hunts both here and in the UK, but never a driven duck hunt. Really interesting.
Hunting for Duck & Geese from a hide with decoy is known as ‘wildfowling’ in the UK. What Thomas did here was ‘driven game shooting’ in this case Duck. Normaly driven shooting involves more people…..both getting the quarry to fly, and standing with a gun. But as he showed, small scale driven shooting is great, just shooting what you will eat.
@@mattbaker1375 most ‘wildfowling’ in the UK is done on tidal areas of estuary, creek or marsh - often close to dawn or dusk if the tide & feeding habits of the birds dictates. The ‘driven’ type of Duck shooting will be done by scaring birds off fresh water ponds or lakes at any time of day - in effect making them fly over guns. Sometimes the Ducks are bred and released to the ponds or lakes for for this purpose & sometimes wild birds will be attracted by feeding. In the video, the young lad says ‘we put a bag down yesterday’ meaning, that the pond had been recently fed - in the hope that some wild birds spotted there would hang around for a day or two. Huge difference shooting wild v ‘tame’ ducks. The wild ones, as oposed to the bred and released ones are many times more shy of humans & will not hang around. Tame, bred ones are not such challenging quarry - they may fly around in circles, being shot at multiple times. We also have ‘Duck flighting’ - shooting wild ducks from hides as they return to their freshwater home pond at dusk. No decoys are used, just a quick ambush to bag a few birds as they commit to landing. After a few shots it is all over, the Ducks are gone.
Sad Straker you are seeking approval and approbation of a lad who is confused if his dad was a human or a duck come on we expected greater things from a Genuine star
Watching Tom cook with the lad was awesome. You can see how passionate Tom is and how enthusiastic he is about sharing his knowledge -inspiring stuff.
Shame he drives drunk and cheats on his wife
whenever i feel bad about my shooting, i watch thomas
Haha was just thinking the same.

@ got it! Waterfowling…never knew the distinction. In the US it’s just duck hunting!
I should add there are many sub-types like flooded timber, pond jumping, coastal, sea duck hunts, etc… never a driven affair however.
