    John.....your videos are great. I think a compact version of what you think anyone could grow in just about any climate might be long overdue, like a list of Top 15 veggies,10 greens,7 herbs,7 fruits,5 medicinal,3 teas, and 7 favorites, that might be able to fit in a couple 2x8 beds and a couple pots...., A sustainable life changing formula. Thanks Again....keep em coming.

    i love green tea, after a few weeks with no caffeine, it has just enough to get me motivated, and is way less jittery than coffee, and has way less of a crash, also has a calming effect, great way to start the day.

      I tried emailing Gardens of the Ancients, but no answer. I am looking for a plant called gymnema sylvestre (also called the insulin plant). Is there a list of plants, herbs and cacti that are sold at Gardens of the Ancients. Also, what is the deal with needing to join the Flower of Life Kratom Society to make phone orders?

    Horseradish is invasive. If anyone wants to grow this, prepare a space that is blocked off from the rest our your garden. I live in San Antonio and grow horseradish in my garden. I love it's fiery taste.

    • @lulou14MerMa
      @lulou14MerMa 5 років тому

      You can grow it in pots and add a liquid fertiliser if necessary. It is invasive and colonizing because it is good at defence against pest and disease. But is therefore easy to grow and tastes good! 😁

      It will take over an area if you let it. I started growing it because its a sub soil miner. The thing will throw roots up to 15 feet deep in three years. If you wanna kill it just smother it with cardboard and you will get up to 15 feet deep of organic material in the soil. Great for later establishing fruit trees.

    Holy Basil 'Tulsi' is one of my daily teas. I wish I could grow it as big as what I saw here, BUT I am in Wisconsin and the growing season is short. I dried enough to fill a 3 gallon glass jar. :0) Will grow more in 2015. Love my herbs. Thank you for taking us on this field trip. Stay healthy, John.

    I just wanted to thank you John for coming out and representing us at the G.O.A. (I am the fella with the shaven head you accredit at the end). You are very good with your camera work and editing and I enjoy your show very much. Keep it going man! I wanted to let you and your followers to know that I am no longer at the Gardens of the ancients and now live in Tucson Arizona (so I dont know if they are still doing the plant walks cause I did em and I aint there no more). My crew back in Aus Tex are keeping it rolling strong so check out their work they really love what they do and are amazing folks. If you live in Austin this is your go to nursery. And if you have a nursery in Tucson and watch this show or need some Permaculture design work done get ahold of me before I get a w2 job.(got an interview tomorrow)

    Thanks for the info. Have been through Manor (actually pronounced MAY-nor....go figure) and have never seen that place. Will have to look them up! You'll probably go through another little town there called Elgin. And YEP, another weird pronunciation.... 2nd syllable not like "gin", but the "g" like in "get" or "go". I wasn't from around here and didn't know either! And really, who cares!? LOL If you're still in the area, stick around for a few days....the sun's coming back tomorrow!
