Because i'm a wartime military veteran, i have free healthcare. Medical costs are high, but its the best in equipment, medical staff and services. Hospitals cant turn someone away. "The Emergency Medical Treatment And Labor Act or EMTALA “[ensures] that any individual with an emergency medical condition, regardless of the individual’s insurance coverage, is not denied essential lifesaving services.”1

You would stay at their home as their guest and that would save you a lot of money on hotels and food. A 2 week stay would be great. It would be great to see you both here and then you can do an awesome video about your visit! That would be so great! We go to 2 types of tanning salons. One kind you go into a room full of lights that will tan you in 15 minutes. You have to wear special glasses to keep you eyes safe. The other kind is a spray tan where you get naked and they spray paint your body and this will last several showers before coming off.

Most people get health insurance, either through their employer, privately or with help from their state and federal programs. You pay a sum usually monthly, or a small portion each paycheck, then if you need medical attention most of the bill is covered. It can be complicated. If you were involved in an extreme emergency situation such as an extreme motor vehicle accident or an emergency appendectomy, that later evolved into a lengthy inpatient hospital stay, it is definitely possible. This was probably the total of all charges before any insurance payments or reductions were taken from the bill.

I had to come in and comment when he said something about healthcare in America. Although the costs are very high, America has the best healthcare by far and even if you can't pay your bill, nobody in America can be refused any kind of emergency room healthcare. Most people have insurance or it is provided for them by their employer. Still many cannot afford it and that is where Medicare and Medicaid come in. For the poorest of America the Medicaid program provides good healthcare free. So when i hear people saying most Americans cannot get care i roll my eyes. There is another choice called 'Obamacare' was nearly made into law, but when people learned that the co-pays were absolutely criminal and often higher than the total cost of your bill, it didn't go over too well and now only the wealthy choose it and even they only use it due to their blind faith in there political hero's. People come from all over the planet to get the best healthcare in the world from America so that should tell you something. The main take-away should be if you cannot afford to pay the high costs, then you will qualify for Medicare or Medicaid and cannot be refused service if you need help.

Personally, I think that the way people see pale skin today stems from how they saw it for centuries: back when illnesses ran rampant because penicillin & vaccines didn't exist yet, people with pale skin were seen as sickly & at some point the term "deathly pale" came into being. I could be wrong, but like I said, that's my opinion. Many people feel that they're taking too long to tan naturally in the sun or they're worried about skin damage, so they opt for a spray tan (I would never do that because yeah, you could end up more orange than bronzed).
I for one love brown eyes; they're very warm & inviting, in my opinion (some shades make people feel they could "drown" in them in a good way, i.e. they're just so lovely & warm you don't want to stop looking into them). And having so many different cultures in this one country, we love different accents (I myself like your accent, Irish, German, Russian - believe it or not, & Brazilian/Portuguese).

You can get anything you want but depends on States, Yes everything you want is in the U.S. though but it depends on many things. If you want Drugs you have to go Seattle Portland or San Francisco where its more or less legal, if you want Guns Texas Arizona Nevada, if you want Certain foods each area is different, if you want to talk about politics you need to go to a city, if you want to talk about religion Utah and the South will hear you out before it gets into a messy argument. Best example is I love concealed weapons, not guns, but like hidden blades, canes with swords...yes I am a nerd...basically nerd swords and knives. In California I cant get them its illegal, so I have to order them to my Nevada house. For some reason Breakfast Tacos are impossible to find in California, everything has to be a burrito, but when I am in Texas breakfast tacos are everywhere. So yes everything is available in the U.S. but dont think its everywhere, you have to go to where its at.

Tanning is a trend brought on by the health craze of the 1970's and 1980's however sun worshiping and tanning has been around for a long time around the world. In the Victorian era being tan was a thing for the lower classes and a mark of a poor person but today only the affluent have time for vacations, exorcise and tanning. Our x president has been accused of getting a spray tan to stay young looking but he gulfs enough I am sure it's normal. All this stuff is not really great for your skin. The sun can make you look like an old hand bag and spray tans look really fake. It's all about looking young and healthy. 🙄

Health care is offered by my employer. They take $60 out of my check as my contribution for it and my employer pays for the rest of it. I can go to the doctor or dentist or eye doctor and only have to pay a few dollars a visit because my insurance pays the rest. If I ever had to go to the hospital, my insurance would pay 80% of the bill. The reason you have to have insurance in America is because if you don’t have it, people can’t afford to pay the doctors for any treatment. There are countries that have universal healthcare where the government pays for it, but it’s terrible. If you go to the hospital or doctor you wait hours sometimes just to be seen. You’re given the bare minimum care as well. In America the doctors and hospitals are clean and nice and not overcrowded and the wait isn’t long. It’s a better experience when you’re not feeling well.

Technically fast food is more expensive. You mentioned that guy making his own Big Mac… for example we can get a pound of the good hamburger meat for $6.50 per pound 85% lean. It’s a premium brand too, and if it’s on sale you can get it for as low as $4.00 a pound. We usually make 4 quarter pound burgers out of that, you include the buns, all the fixings, even making your own sauce, all those items are more than one serving worth. Now I tried to look up how much a Big Mac costs, and it depends where you live… it varies from $4.80 to $7.50… but because it’s made for you as a service, there will be tax. Buying your own ingredients from a grocery store here in Minnesota, there is no tax on grocery food. And you can make up to 4 burgers. Obviously it gets complicated, and I’m terrible at math, but I think in the end even buying premium meat, it still ends up cheaper, just less convenient, but tastes so much better in my opinion 😉
