THis song was done by country singer Juice Newton, n Karen was taken by it that they recorded it for their 1977 PASSAGE album....it was a Top 10 Country hit....

Hi Shawn & Mel! Carpenters did some cool Country and Folk songs. This is one of their best Country songs and “Reason To Believe” is a great Folk/Country song. I still love that you have Karen right over Mel, looking over her and enveloping her with love and strength.
Again I’m going to hope you see this and consider it. In Early March on the 2nd, in honor of Karen’s birthday in heaven. These musicians released a cover of We’ve Only Just Begun, in her honor. It’s the single best Carpenters cover I have ever seen and heard. 54 years after the original it has been brought back in the most natural way. Real musicians and real voices. No alterations like autotune or pitch correction. It was examined and verified by UK UA-camr Wings of Pegasus. I assume you are familiar with Fil? I hope you give this a spin and continue the honor to Karen. BTW Richard is aware of the singer and likes what she is doing. If that means anything to you? The man who created this project is James Wilkas and the lead female vocalist is 20 year old Tori Holub. This is special. You can do a quick search to verify what I’ve said. Just don’t view the video, you WILL react and that will be more special than you are aware of. Love you two. I wrote a long note to Mel when the incident happened. I don’t think you saw it.

Yes!! There's just so many non hit songs that are so beautiful! Reactors dont even touch the surface! Sad!!
Country music needs to go back to being true country music and get away from the pop and do like how country was originally where it told a story and the instrumental was harmonic where's the vocals. And on top of that when they sang a song it was not because they thought it would make them money but they could identify with it and sing it with their heart that is what makes truth country music.
