In my opinion this is the most beautiful dress Jackie has ever worn. She only wore it once, at this concert. Her voice was exceptional in Detroit. It was surreal. You just have to experience Jackie live.
It shouldn't matter how she looks or dresses, especially with that incredible voice and talent. It is however so refreshing to see that she dresses immaculately and on this occasion looks quite regal (as she often does). I am revisiting this performance on April 28th 2019. Jackie is even better! Jackie has just released her newest album "The Debut" of course it's #1 on Billboard's classical albums chart. It's hard to believe that Jackie is more beautiful than ever as is her voice! God Bless Jackie Evancho!

OK--first time I have seen this video. Brilliant. In my less than humble opinion this is a world class performance. Jackie continues to gain new plateaus of excellence. I don't usually comment on young ladies dress when performing. But I have to say this dress is a true winner. She is classy and unbelievably beautiful in her presentation here. I have to give heavy credit to whoever is choosing her performing wardrobe. I think this part of her team deserves an Academy Award and and a Grammy. I just hope she keeps this part of her style when she goes through her teenage rebellion phase. Papasurfdad thanks for sharing. I've been to one concert by Jackie and bought all her recordings and concert videos----but as a humble working stiff can't go to all her concerts. I like seeing her new efforts. After a couple of months I see this video has reached 27,969 views as of 7/6/15. Far, far, far fewer than it deserves. None of my opinions have changed in the intervening months. She lifts my failing spirits and enlivens my failing emotions like nothing except the words of Jesus Christ. Yes, I'm one of those I confess. On this single item I make no apologies to those who are offended. I hope she continues to do what she is doing.

I usually don't pay much attention to her dress. I loved her on America's got talent. She was so into the music. I thought for a while they were rushing her into adult clothing. But she looked beautiful in this and other gowns. It didn't look out of place at all. There continues to be growth in her talent!
Oct 16 2015, Portland OR, Jackie concert #2. Needless to say, I can't wait. Once again, her gown is immaculate. It's funny watching all those hollywood actresses on the Red Carpet that can't hold a candle to Jackie's wardrobe. They don't have her class either. Or her talent.

Like a Stradivarius violin, or a fine wine, Jackie's has learned to use her instrument, which has gotten not only bigger, but better with time. We can only imagine how a 10 year old, who won a national talent search might vocalize with a much more matured voice and understanding in 30 years. Please Jackie, if you must take a year off from this adolescent fame and fortune, which is so wonderful for you and your families future security. One day, Jackie, please return to that "Gold Rush" of indescribably human and charismatic vocals only you have the ability to do. No kidding! Don't get all heady about it, but there really is no singer alive that can deliver a song the way you do. It's almost like every song you take to heart, becomes yours. Nothing bad about that and it really makes it a fun thing for you to accept new songs that need the J.E. touch to bring them home to the masses. I wish I had half the personal draw you have. I don't know….I've tried everything, and have fantastic original songs, but they just don't take when I'm singing them. Sometimes I really think I sell myself short. I have epic tunes, maybe one day to be known. Tomorrow I practice my original Jefferson Township song with the other 20 or so chorus members and then Saturday we will sing to the entire community at the yearly Jefferson Day event. I have sung this "anthem" at the last 5 or 6 Jefferson Days with the township chorus backing me up on the chorus sections. I get such a kick out of the fact that thousands of Jefferson Day visitors listen and enjoy the many vendors and music events. We sing at noon on the main stage and I hope to get back at 9:30PM or so to watch/ experience the Jefferson Township Day firework extravaganza! I think it is one of the best pyrotechnic displays in the state! What can you say when a firework program has more than 3 or 4 finales, each leveling you more each time. Hey Jackie, we have lots of music during the day at Jefferson Day, maybe one day you might sing a song or two. Maybe you could sing my original "My Sweet Home Jefferson" with me and the chorus some day. This is a beautiful township with many wonderful residents and the Fourth of July fireworks (usually a week after the 4th) really rock this Northern New Jersey Highlands mountain home (the booms reverberate back and forth between the hills. It is the best!!! Come sing with us!!! I love how during a finale the fireworks done boom and then sputter out. They keep coming like a marching heavy footed band sending sparkling happiness into the heavens.
As good as ever, moving on with her stronger voice. Got it all under control. By next year when she's 16 and some new songs, we'll be amazed again. Little Jackie was fabulous, teenage Jackie is amazing, adult Jackie will be 🆒🐧 🎤 🎶 🎵 .
This is addressed to Jackie: Jackie, I do not know how it happens, I am sure it is on a spiritual plane way above me; your voice, your instrument, reaches down and touches people’s souls. I have read many comments because I have listened to many, many of your videos, and this is the most common thread of all: your voice makes people cry. Has it ever happened to me! It is not a sad cry. It is something even deeper: your voice evokes emotions that one may not have even realized were there or that deep-seated. No one told me this when I started listening to your videos. I was surprised by my own tears - where did this come from? I have a much better understanding now. And I know these words have probably been said thousands of times by now, but the absolute truth of the matter is: you are genuinely one of the rarest individuals that has ever graced this planet: you are truly touched by God. And I mean our Heavenly Father. I am glad to be alive at such an awesome time as well as be alive at a time when I can share the planet with you and listen to you sing. It is wonderful beyond words, but words still fall short.

I was at this concert. I missed the first song or two because I dropped my ticket in the parking garage and had to go back for it. I was in a bit of a panic as I went back toward where my car was parked, but when I got to the level my car was on, I saw something on the floor and remember thinking 'please be my ticket', and it was. Whoo!

I have watched it several time, and I am intrigued by how the camera seems to move with Jackie as she walks from one side of the stage, to the other, and back again, while the shot remained so steady. She performs best when she can and is emotionally longing for something or for someone. Now she is softened and relaxed in 2015. She is no longer missing that 'someone or something' anymore. Well, I wish she go to gym to do some abdominal tightening then she can restore this emotion-like voices again without those emotions in actuality. Sorry guys, I am good at analysing emotions and particularly hers closer somehow.

She performs best when she is "possessed by the music" and magically conveys the emotions of the song, which she certainly does here, as always! :) It's good that she's a little softer and more relaxed in 2015 - but she certainly sings with a voice that conveys all kinds of emotions - for instance, in "Lovers," the pain and heartbreak of separation from a loved one, from the age of 10, without having those emotions herself. Well, I wish you go to shrink to do some mental tightening; Jackie's still wonderful :)

Why is she gasping for breath? you should not be able to hear a singer gasp for air in the phrases. She has such a lovely voice but her breathing is not professional. If she got that and her diction under better control, I think she might be the best musical theater star of them all, in around four or so years

High quality vocals are unintentionally intimidating to people who are used to Auto tuned singers. (Not real vocals!) She is a peach!

Jackie Evancho on the other hand, almost from the "get go", has a quality few even years her senior can't come close too! Again and again I like to think that Jackie really has an inert talent, a gifted vocal human charisma that transcends age or epoch. She is a one in a million. A mensa of music if you will! I only hope I live long enough to hear what amazing pieces she sings in a decade or two, or three. We can only imagine how a 10 year old, who won a national talent search might vocalize with a much more matured voice and understanding in 30 years. Please Jackie, if you must take a year off from this adolescent fame and fortune, which is so wonderful for you and your families future security. One day, Jackie, please return to that "Gold Rush" of indescribably human and charismatic vocals only you have the ability to do.
No kidding! Don't get all heady about it, but there really is no singer alive that can deliver a song the way you do. It's almost like every song you take to heart, becomes yours. Nothing bad about that and it really makes it a fun thing for you to accept new songs that need the J.E. touch to bring them home to the masses. I wish I had half the personal draw you have. I don't know….I've tried everything, and have fantastic original songs, but they just don't take when I'm singing them. Sometimes I really think I sell myself short. I have epic tunes, maybe one day to be known.
Tomorrow I practice my original Jefferson Township song with the other 20 or so chorus members and then Saturday we will sing to the entire community at the yearly Jefferson Day event. I have sung this "anthem" at the last 5 or 6 Jefferson Days with the township chorus backing me up on the chorus sections. I get such a kick out of the fact that thousands of Jefferson Day visitors listen and enjoy the many vendors and music events.
We sing at noon on the main stage and I hope to get back at 9:30PM or so to watch/ experience the Jefferson Township Day firework extravaganza! I think it is one of the best pyrotechnic displays in the state! What can you say when a firework program has more than 3 or 4 finales, each leveling you more each time. Hey Jackie, we have lots of music during the day at Jefferson Day, maybe one day you might sing a song or two. Maybe you could sing my original "My Sweet Home Jefferson" with me and the chorus some day.
This is a beautiful township with many wonderful residents and the Fourth of July fireworks (usually a week after the 4th) really rock this Northern New Jersey Highlands mountain home (the booms reverberate back and forth between the hills. It is the best!!! Come sing with us!!!
I love how during a finale the fireworks done boom and then sputter out. They keep coming like a marching heavy footed band sending sparkling happiness into the heavens.
Her most powerful version of this beautiful song. Simply divine. My only wish for JME is to go back to performing with a full orchestra, again.

This is addressed to Jackie: Jackie, I do not know how it happens, I am sure it is on a spiritual plane way above me; your voice, your instrument, reaches down and touches people’s souls. I have read many comments because I have listened to many, many of your videos, and this is the most common thread of all: your voice makes people cry. Has it ever happened to me! It is not a sad cry. It is something even deeper: your voice evokes emotions that one may not have even realized were there or that deep-seated. No one told me this when I started listening to your videos. I was surprised by my own tears - where did this come from? I have a much better understanding now. And I know these words have probably been said thousands of times by now, but the absolute truth of the matter is: you are genuinely one of the rarest individuals that has ever graced this planet: you are truly touched by God. And I mean our Heavenly Father. I am glad to be alive at such an awesome time as well as be alive at a time when I can share the planet with you and listen to you sing. It is wonderful beyond words, but words still fall short.

OHH, YESSS - WHAT A FABULOUS AND FULL- LENGTH PERFORMANCE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL AND MEANINGFUL SONG BY SARAH MCLACHLAN - INCLUDING THE DEEP AND POWERFUL 2ND VERSE!! :) It's so impressive the way Jackie is so fully possessed by the music; she wrings every drop of the song's meaning with that beautiful visage and angelic voice!! :) Thank you, papasmurfdad, for this fine cinematographic masterpiece; it brings out so much of Ms. Evancho's interpretation (although the percussion is loud and I do miss the accompanying choir). I've loved every performance Jackie's done of the song, even back to when she "blew 'em away" on the Tonight Show [Even the back- up singers and instrumentalists all applauded like mad :) :)]

I was at this concert. I missed the first song or two because I dropped my ticket in the parking garage and had to go back for it. I was in a bit of a panic as I went back toward where my car was parked, but when I got to the level my car was on, I saw something on the floor and remember thinking 'please be my ticket', and it was. Whoo!

One of the amazing things about Evancho is that her live performances apparently are AT LEAST as wonderful as recordings.

NB - With multiple monitor speakers, Jackie can stroll L and R to be closer to more audience members. I have watched it several time, and I am intrigued by how the camera seems to move with Jackie as she walks from one side of the stage, to the other, and back again, while the shot remained so steady. There is no change to the perspective, in remains constant, straight on. If it is not a secret I would be interested in how you achieved that effect. Regardless of how, the result was phenomenal.

She performs best when she can and is emotionally longing for something or for someone. Now she is softened and relaxed in 2015. She is no longer missing that 'someone or something' anymore. Well, I wish she go to gym to do some abdominal tightening then she can restore this emotion-like voices again without those emotions in actuality. Sorry guys, I am good at analysing emotions and particularly hers closer somehow.

+symmetry08 Please watch Jackie run in the DVD from Longwood gardens ... Her abdominal muscles are just fine, thank you. She performs best when she is "possessed by the music" and magically conveys the emotions of the song, which she certainly does here, as always! :) It's good that she's a little softer and more relaxed in 2015 - but she certainly sings with a voice that conveys all kinds of emotions - for instance, in "Lovers," the pain and heartbreak of separation from a loved one, from the age of 10, without having those emotions herself. Well, I wish you go to shrink to do some mental tightening; Jackie's still wonderful :)

? Sounds alright for an audience recording. I saw her live 6 weeks after this concert and she was phenomenal.
Why is she gasping for breath? you should not be able to hear a singer gasp for air in the phrases. She has such a lovely voice but her breathing is not professional. If she got that and her diction under better control, I think she might be the best musical theater star of them all, in around four or so years
