I am a fan of every song Jackie has ever produced. People seem to forget that she has grown up under a microscope with every single move, every note sung subject to armchair critiques! She is arguably one of the greatest singers in history. Let her sing, let her grow and be thankful that we get to hear her voice! I can't even count the amount of times her singing has made me thrilled o be alive!

DJRegnier While Jackie's perfect pitch and mellow tonality are great talents I have said from the beginning that her phrasing (emotional interpretation) were her greatest talents. While I'm not sure I would agree that she exceeds Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy, I would certainly agreed that she is in those rarefied ranks.
I saw Jackie in Midland Texas several months ago and I can say she has much more power in her voice now than she did when she recorded this song two years ago at 14. She is on the other side of puberty now and her voice is richer and more resonant especially in her lower Mezzo Soprano range but still powerful and warm in her Soprano range. I compare her voice to a violin and cello wrapped up in one beautiful young lady.

Jackie is a voice contortionist, her range and ability to float each note allowing it to enter our minds and flutter in each brain cell has never been duplicated for as long as I've listened to other singers. Like comparing it to a fine cuisine and excellent wine from the finest vines.

Taking advantage of a rare opportunity to listen to Awakening on my 'best' stereo and am again really impressed, it is an indisputable masterpiece! I have to say that, in contrast to all those who complain that they can't hear her words that every word is clear. Even listening to UA-cam I don't have a problem with her (piped though a decent stereo) but the best one reveals all the nuances. She is without doubt one of the finest voices I have ever heard and will become the singer whom all others are compared to - already is in many instances.

While I agree completely that Jackie is absolutely amazing and this is a good cover, it doesn't convey the song in the manner that Amy Lee intended when written. It is meant to be gothic in flavor and tone, the sound of an emotionally depressed female vocalist. This version while good does not convey that feeling of the original. I'm not intending to knock Jackie, it just didn't do it for me although the original after all these years, still does. Peace...

Visuals are a very powerful tool in the music industry. Especially Pop music. You think Taylor Swift is as big as she is because of mainly her voice? I've played Amy's version simultaneously with Jackie's and there is very little discernible difference in the emotional tone when you don't watch the videos. Oh, and this isn't a knock on Amy as she does have one of the better Pop voices going.

Silver Schooner I know, right?! If I was a vocalist, and wrote a song, I wouldn't want her to do a cover of it - I'd be too afraid that her version would be better than the original!
+John Leddy I have to disagree with all comments in this thread. While I agree completely that Jackie is absolutely amazing and this is a good cover, it doesn't convey the song in the manner that Amy Lee intended when written. It is meant to be gothic in flavor and tone, the sound of an emotionally depressed female vocalist. This version while good does not convey that feeling of the original. I'm not intending to knock Jackie, it just didn't do it for me although the original after all these years, still does. Peace...
+TheMusicWell If Jackie had done this in a video showing her writhing around on the ground in agony, with a pained look on her face the whole time, then her voice would miraculously sound like the song intended to many of the doubters. Visuals are a very powerful tool in the music industry. Especially Pop music. You think Taylor Swift is as big as she is because of mainly her voice? I've played Amy's version simultaneously with Jackie's and there is very little discernible difference in the emotional tone when you don't watch the videos.
Oh, and this isn't a knock on Amy as she does have one of the better Pop voices going.
