- 1962 gives us the reinvention of the spy genre and ground breaking desert epics, but most importantly, the skin flicks start experimenting in other genres, and nearly every other picture literally picks a slap to the face. Join on The Cinema Snob on his journey through 1962 in Film.

EPIC!
Awesome video!
Bat credit card
Hey nostalgia critic, I don’t really know the history between you and the person I’m out about to bring up I don’t really watch them that much and I don’t know if they disappeared or not but this is a question that’s probably gonna lead to a massive UA-cam riot. Whatever happened to nostalgia chick? And on a sidenote, who the hell is the cinema snob?!? He sounds like a knock off of the nostalgia critic.
Can Doug Walker do a NC review of Disney’s Robots cuz he’d already did a Disneycember of it but NOT a NC review version of it????
3 and a half hours of Cinema Snob is guaranteed to be a great time. I love Brad's videos, and this "Year in Review" series are the ones I look forward to the most.
God, I love these, no matter what year or decade is being highlighted.
I really wish this series stayed on the Cinema Snob's channel.
Same
Why did it move?
I live for these year in review videos! Keep up the good work Brad!
Yes got my first half of work listening right here for tomorrow.
More than 3 hours of channel awesome?! Yes please!
It won't be long till 1963, a year where my father was born in December, Doctor Who first broadcast (the day after the JFK's Assassination), The Sword in the Stone (Walt Disney's Last Animated Produced Film before he died while putting finishing his final touches on The Jungle Book), From Russia With Love became the UK's Highest Grossing Film Ever Made [before other movies to follow and both Sean Connery's personal favourites to work on and Steven Spielberg's Favourite films] and It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World became James Rolfe's Favourite movie!
Looking forward to 1963 films and 1984 films from Cinema Snob
Snob, these videos are award-worthy.
Thank you for the quality content!
YES....I could watch these forever
Interesting fact about the film Bachelor Flat, and that is that it was scored by John Williams, only going by his earlier title, Johnny Williams.
Cape Fear is one of the few instances where I love both the original and the remake.
And The Simpsons episode too, of course.
Not only do these Years in Film provide a window into the past, it's fascinating to see how the movie industry reflects the then current state of the world. How certain topics and events start a "wave" of film genres and last years hits continue to have an affect on culture in the following year. These videos could seriously be used as a source of information in a thesis or some such. Bravo Brad, bravo!
Live For these year in Review brad! Keep up the amazing work ❤
1962 sure had a lot happen in movies. The first James Bond movie Dr. No came out, the two most famous movie monsters King Kong and Godzilla fight for the first time, John Wayne says the phrase pilgrim in The Man who shot Liberty Valance, Gregory Peck wins an Oscar for his portrayal of a southern lawyer in To Kill a Mockingbird, and a The Miracle Worker about the woman who turned Helen Keller’s life around.
Don’t forget Lawrence of Arabia directed by David Lean, widely regarded one of the greatest films ever made (particularly one of the best films to come out of Britain in this time).
@@samuelbarber6177 yeah that too. Got a favorite movie from 1962?
@@huntercoleman460 probably the aforementioned Lawrence of Arabia. I do love myself a good epic. I also really like Dr. No and To Kill A Mockingbird. Yourself?
@@samuelbarber6177 those as well. Ever see King Kong vs Godzilla or The Man who shot Liberty Valance?
@@huntercoleman460 seen the latter but not the former, though that being said I ought to get back to it. I don’t think really appreciated Ford enough at that time.
My Top Ten Movies of 1962:
1) Lawrence of Arabia
2) To Kill a Mockingbird
3) Dr. No
4) The Longest Day
5) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
6) King Kong vs Godzilla
7) The Manchurian Candidate
8) How the West Was Won
9) Le Doulos
10) Sanjuro
There’s a lot from this year that I need to see, though.
My birth year! Peckinpah’s “Ride the High Country” is my favorite film, a beautiful story of redemption and an elegy to a moral code long gone. It would actually make a great triple feature with “Ballad of Cable Hogue” and “Junior Bonner.”
I love these so much. Its nice to just turn on the video and start writing down the films to watch next!!
Thank you very much for existing. I’m gonna make a fanart for this channel ;)
I look forward the long videos of film year retrospectives, but why does Brad upload them on Channel Awesome?
Hallelujah been waiting for this!!! 🎉😊
Cinema Snob, how did you miss that opportunity to reference "Blazing Saddles" when you mentioned "Randolph Scott?"
Thank you so much these year in review vids keep me going
Alright! I love these retrospectives.
Ready to get started.
Only a one hour wait at Disney? Must be in the Lightning Lane.
I forgot how much I love Cinema Snob videos lmao.
Woo! Thanks for all the wonderful reviews on this year, Snob. I'm always happy to see things I've heard of and things I never knew existed as well as get history on all these films. These year in film shows are some of your best work. Take care!
The year that gave us the one and only spider-man amazing fantasy 15
August 1962
I think Safe at Home is the best-known (if not only) baseball movie from the 1960s. Sports movies as a whole were scarce that decade, with the exception of auto racing.
Brad's an editing machine with these series. Hell, I even got some good recommendations out of this one!
Over 3 hours of Cinema Snob?! Why bcuz of course there is.😃
The length of the video is the same length as Lawrence Of Arabia.
@13:00 Listen to how excited Cinema Snob sounds.🤣
Wow. This is amazing. Great work
Can you guys please make an MCU fanscription about “What If Edward Norton continued playing the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead of being recasted by Mark Ruffalo?” There we would have more Hulk movies in the MCU and see what Edward Norton’s Hulk would’ve been like with the Avengers instead of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. First off, I would like to see The Incredible Hulk get redone first and make it into a better movie. I also would love to see Bruce and Betty’s love life still continue. Also for the future Hulk movies, I hope we can get different villains and bring back The Leader, because he was teased in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and was never seen again until Captain America: Brave New World. I hope you guys make this What If MCU Fanscription, because I feel like Edward Norton had a missed opportunity continuing to play the Hulk throughout the MCU. Plus, Ed did a really great job playing Bruce Banner/the Hulk better than Mark did. Though I thought Mark Ruffalo did a good job playing Hulk in the MCU, I just wanted to see a What If MCU Fanscription of Edward Norton continuing to play Hulk. Plus, Ed’s Hulk design looks badass and comic accurate. Anyways, I hope you guys make this Fanscription because I would’ve loved to see Edward Norton’s Hulk be continued in the MCU.
I love the cinema years so much it's he highlight of your channel and the highlight of my year
And now we wait until possibly November for 1984 in film, as well as spring 2025 for 1963 in film.
I've got a 1,000 pc puzzle and the Snob just released another epic year retrospective video.
Now that is my idea of a Sunday.
The year of two of my favorite fictional doctors… Dr. Strangelove & Dr. No lol
Video Request List
1. “What If Gothel Failed To Kidnap Rapunzel As A Child?”
2. “What If Desti was alive, but brainwashed?” (It’s an SMG4 FanScription.)
3. “What If Dr. Blowhole was in the Penguins of Madagascar Movie?”
4. “What If Puss In Boots was never an outlaw?”
5. “What If NorthWind went with the Penguins’ plan?” (I honestly think it would better for our heroes if they went with the Penguins’ plan.)
Well slap me silly thank you for another awesome year in cinema
Brad, thanks for acknowledging The Music Man. That's be great to review for Musical March in September. It was inspired by Merideth's hometown in Mason City, Iowa.
I loved the Cape Fear remake when I saw it as a teenager, but as an adult, I think I prefer the 1962 version. Mitchum is just more believable as a predator that can charm people into letting their guard down, while DeNiro’s hair, clothes, and prison tattoos would even have women who like the “bad boy” type reaching for the pepper spray before he got within ten feet of them.
Slap!
Great job as always, Brad!
You should do 1990 in film!!
Good ol Brad, the Cameo Critic
I saw Pressure Point on TV when I was ten. The little guy coming up the sink drain really freaked me!
As a Ukrainian person, I can say that the Taras Bulba looks about right. Ukrainians traditionally are dark-haired and dakr-eyed (at least what I remember from national literature). And Cossaks had some bizzare stylish choices, now I come to think about it. Great series, btw, I rewatch this long year-in-film episodes all the time, thank you!

Are you talking to Brad or Doug,
Channel Awesome in general@@astrogallotron
So slap happy!
Seeing Gypsy at a young age did something to me
Uh oh. You're gettin' squishy.
Fantastic, as usual. Shame its not on Brad's own channel though.
Aaaahhhhhhhh....God bless you and God bless your son, Jack!
Gypsy was one of my favorites as a kid
Let's never forget Pat Boone released a metal album.
Awesome.
50:34 I hoped you would bring that up.
I would have "thumbed up" the video if it we're on Stoned Gremlin Productions' channel.
As a bonus or kind of Easter egg we have a prominent zit develop and recede over the course of this very long video on Cinema Snob’s left cheek. Very entertaining.
44:01 That is one real long Fair.
i remember watching the 3 stooges movies when i was a kid, they were already a classic but i loved them.
The writer J. D. Salinger was on Utah Beach; and the Huertgen Forest.....
8:57 How timely. Sounds like one of those movies that accidentally predicted the future, or inspired the one we live in now.
Why is this on Channel Awesome?! Brad’s content is too good for this channel!!
Why isn't Brad posting this on his channel?
My guess is just so more eyes see the upload. But I would love to see input from them on this. Not that I mind either way, snob is definitely a channel awesome staple.
Just one thing I wanted to say: "Solaris" was written before this Seventh Planet scifi movie got released (the book was out in 1961 and obviously written before that), so it definitely wasn't inspired by this movie :)
17:40 sounds like a 60s version of Poor Things
1:58:03 Whoa wait a minute Jessica Tandy was once younger? Wowzers , she always looked like she was 60 years old for like 30 years.
2:20:13 PRE Tales from the Darkside Font etc too.
Can you post this on your channel also? I prefer to support your channel.
1:47:37 He looks alot like The Wolfman from 1941.
Omg.....
How has he become so old?
CS Lewis died the same day as JFK and another writer. doctor who was scheduled for that day but had to be delayed.
They out here slapping the shit out of 1962🤣
1:24:00 Alan "Ladd".
Best movie in 62 is Whatever Happened to Baby Jane
For any Grindhouse film that's on here. Take a shot
Well clearly the only movie in this poll that stands alone would be Eegah, I mean it's the only one with the original golden arches, Arch Hall junior AND Arch Hall senior.
Can you please do dont mess with the zohan
1:36:55
I was born in '82, which means I am 62. Does this make me your oldest subscriber?
What?
Monster squad didn't even exist in 1962 fellas but it would have been awesome
Oh Gay Purrr-ee! My sis and i were born in the 80s , but she loved this film! (I still sing "bubbles!" to myself.
1:56:20 If only Larry Storch then would show up too. #TheGreatRace
this is how i learn ben-hur was a remake?
Carousell and State Fair are basically the Same type story.
Hi 👋
That was for 62 years ago!
Guess what

Not one Hammer film...?
Can you guys review ambulance? It’s proof that an ambulance can be used as a getaway vehicle.
Advise and Consent.
You didn't mention it but the story involves a young senator who is blackmailed because he had an affair with another man while in the Army and eventually cut his own throat with a broken bottle!!
Good clean family fun!!
Wait... so is this the thing now.
The thing?
Anyone else notice him say Charlize Theron's name wrong?
Its pronounced Sharleez Tharin
Suzanne Pleshette, Anne Margret..l Lee Remick..the don't make them like that anymore!
Okay, I got Three hours...
I mean. Logan Paul recorded a dead body and he still has a career 😂😂😂
Great work ethic
