I really thought this was going to be harder. Fanastic walkthough. I have made many ethernet cables and even some 8ga pigtails for 3 wire power connectors. I see some custom HDMI cables in my future..

I was gonna cut an hdmi cable to the size i needed for a project but i think it would just be cheaper to buy one already cut to the size lmao i have almost none of the things shown in this video. but great video tho, pretty satisfying to watch it all come together and very insightful.

Just measure from the other end with continuty meter/tester
Using a multimeter, measure continuity from the end of the cable to the connector pins so you know where each cable goes.
I broke my hdmi cable and was looking how to fix it, ended up ignoring the video and just smashing in against the wall so it can be put back together. It works

Dude, lol. I do wiring for my job. You had my cringing stripping the foil from the twisted pairs. There is such an easier way (and no risk to nicking your wires) That move would trigger everyone at my job man lol. Good vid though. I don't work with these exact cables but close enough. Wanted to see what I'd be dealing with if I tried splicing 2 of them together. Bit more work then the USB one I spliced last year.

Thanks for your kind commenting. No, we can't really do that. Our USB connectors can only accept 8 mm OD cables and there is no fix scheme for USB - HDMI connection.
This brilliant, but I would love it if u can do from HDMI to Android, iPhone or type c mouth of even to USB. Cause am having a hard time doing that, thank you.

To assemble HDMI cable you need the special crimping tool.

It is almost similar to making an ethernet cord. Do we need any special crimping tool for making HDMI cable or will a simple plier does the job?

awesome. Is there a limit to how long you can make a HDMI cable? Was thinking of making one to go from my indoor receiver to my backyard when we do movies with a projector
There is a maximum length of cable for that can vary depending on your resolution. But generally if you go past 50 ft no matter what you are going to start having big latency and bandwidth issues
KCE-HDMI and KCS-HDMI cables transfer 4K/UHD image only under 5 meters. Above 5 meters they only transfer Full HD image. KCE-HDMI max 15m, KCS-HDMI max 20m.

No offense, and I am sure he is trying, but, while he may connect the separate cables correctly, his termination of the HDMI shielding only guarantees that he has a very noisy leaking HDMI cable.

Probably. It's digital, so, edge cases aside, it either works with a lossless picture or it doesn't.

Hello sir can you show me more detail how the cable are arrange and connected my problems is when i order a wrong cable vga to hdmi in amazion, it doesn't work and again i order it again vga female to hdmi . it is still doesn't work again so i cut at both the end of each cables , what i means is i want to connect hdmi to hdmi , the first one cables is less than the second one is more cable ,so it made me crazy

HDMI to 3RCA cable is not possible. A cable will not convert digital signal to analogue. You will need an active device with HDMI input and RCA output for this job.

I guess the max length is 30m before we need to boost/repeat it. Even high quality cables are used, signals are proned to skewing since they're are not sent in frames against time
