    On October 21st Yonex just launched their brand new Astrox 77 PRO. It seems like Yonex is getting into a pattern of lining their series in PRO, TOUR, GAME and PLAY. Let's hear what Ian has to say about this racket and the new Yonex product line strategy.

    Congratulations! Thanks for explaining the naming of the lineup. I play with Pro, Game, & Play models. I am surprised by how they perform considering the price. Yes, Pro will feel & perform the best. Players may want to know which to buy. Buy rackets based on specs & replace the factory strings (Tour, Game, & Play) for better performance. For me, some players just love to swing at everything even when they hear "mine". Then I play with Play & Game.
    I play with Arcsaber 7 Pro & 7 Play, & Astrox 100 Game. Arcsaber 7 Pro & Play. I am able to play a fast paced game with confidence. So light I am able to repeatedly attack an opponent. Lacks power on overhead smashes compared to Astrox 100 Game & Duora. 7 Pro & 7 Play is great for drives & delaying net shots & lifts. A player with a fast swing speed & power will be best suited for this model. I find drives were more powerful than overhead smashes.
    7 Play. Wow! The performance on it is amazing considering the price. My friend cannot tell the difference. Every time I win against him in MD he yells "Stop playing with the 7 Play! Use the Pro!" He has 88S Pro.
    The updated Arcsaber 7 series is great for defensive to counter attacking style games. Astrox 100 Game for over powering opponents.

      You mean Astrox 7 play is better than 7pro? I am an intermediate player love to play continuous shots both smashes and drops? Is it suitable for my style of play? The energy bosster cap is absent in 7play? Is this affect the smash power?

    • @franckiewicz0831
      @franckiewicz0831 Рік тому

      100ZZ is an absolute power beast but it feels heavy and slow. difficult for net play, amazing for back smashes. 77 is a better well rounded but lacks a bit of power as it isn't as stiff. 88S pro is kind of the best of both imo

    I have astrox 69 (sibling of ax 99 i believe?) And arcsaber 7 pro. One is too heavy for me and the other feels too light. By chance i got hold of a very old Voltric 1 lcw and the headweight of it i found to be perfect for me. Among ax 88d pro, 88s pro and 77 pro which one comes closer to voltric 1 lcw in terms of headweight?

    It's weird that you find the racket as medium flex when other reviewers find it as quite stiff. I have been playing with it for four days now and it does feel stiff. I'd say it's even stiffer than the 88D Pro and on par with the Nanoflare 800LT.

    I broke my z force II 3u. 77 pro seems to have a similar balance as z force but faster and lighter. However, i need to accustom to faster swing speed and lots of times bigger swings compared to z force 2 which requires small instant movement for the same distance

    • @blskiller123
      @blskiller123 Рік тому

      it depends what you are looking for. I have been stringing for a while and what I noticed is that prestretch helps it hold tension but it drops a little bit initially. While for no prestretch it will start off at the right tension but gradually loses it faster

    So.....Yonex are selling cheap chinese knockoffs of their rackets under the Game/Tour and Play brands ?

    • @syafiq3420
      @syafiq3420 Рік тому +2

      its more to yonex trying to sell different variants that suits people who have budget constraints or not. when people look at the price of a racket that is too expensive for them, they can still buy the tour/play model. of course there would be slight difference in feeling of the racket as the price goes down because of the different types of material used. thats my two cent

    • @Mux0006
      @Mux0006 Рік тому

      @@syafiq3420 Yeah, I understand, but I meant more, that instead of having different branding they sell the cheap rackets with the same name as their best...that is what feels confusing to me in their namig scheme...the numbering worked just fine IMO
