@@HeidisGarage thank you, I am planing to work soon in a DT466E head cylinder and wanted to do so with the color look very nice. Im in Haiti. I will see how shipping will work. Do you have a recommended web site to order it?
Was there something wrong with the injector sleeves or is it just good practice to replace them when you do a rebuild. How did you find the valve guides...much wear? I'm putting a lot of pressure on you...this will be my guide when I rebuild mine. Kidding. You're doing a great job.
I replaced the injectors sleeves because they had bad oxidation on the inside of them, and some had light pitting on the exterior from the coolant. I figured if everything else is new I better replace them as well to not cause premature failure. I did not replace the valve guides only the valve guide seals, the seals are rubber with a steel ring on the bottom for the valve spring to sit on. They were wore oblong from the valve and were cracking from old age, these seals also allow some blow by when worn. I was able to find all of my parts on Heavy Duty Pros website and they are mostly Interstate McBee parts.
You can get the special tool that does the same thing, all you want is a flat surface that is the same diameter as the cup to pound them into the head.
Yeah the intake is integrated into the valve cover. It has a raised part on the center with runners that come of that center raised portion of the valve cover. Its a pretty slick design they came up with to minimize component's!
Love these rebuild videos awesome and very talented
Thank you!
When will u post the rest of the rebuild? Loving the videos, started my own rebuild of my DT466 thanks for the info.
I will try to get them posted soon! Glad they are helpful!
Hi, good job! The paint you use it s a special one or any regular blue oil paint?
Its a special high heat engine enamel paint from POR. Works great and holds up to the heat of a diesel!

Came thru
Never rebuilt one, why would you install the injector cups with a socket?

I never understood where is the intake it seems to be in the valve cover but how does that work?
