Haha I've got '96 cards as well, its a great set for sure! I do totally welcome this set as well tho! Original art for base set and I think the artists did pretty awesome!
It's an absolute beauty of a set!! As for values I haven't checked since opening week tbh. The boxes I hope have come down in price a bit. At $300 it's tough to get your value. But you will love the rip!! I know if quite a few Canadian retailers that still have. If you need me to post some links I can!! I wish you crazy hits!!!
all the cards looked really good, even though i wasnt a fan of all the art styles. not sure how i feel about that pin card either. feel like i got cheated out of seeing addition cards lol, but still very cool.
@@Lastpacktears I’m a casual ripper but invested heavy in prism and so far my top rip is a Wemby silver, taking a break for a while to let the savings bounce back lol
4 cards in a pack? Damn, when i was into cards in the 90s. You got like 7 or 8. Now you pay more and get less. Its like that with everything now. I still have some sets like the 93 and 94 fleer sets. Where the cards make larger secnes when put together. Those were my favorite as a kid.
Right?! a ton of cards per pack in the 90's, additionally a really cool ripping experience with the individual box... ahhh... times have changed big time! finishing the scenes was always fun! Thanks for the comment!!
@FoiblesRips yeah man, i will say the artwork on these is really nice. I always thought it was cool that they got different comic artists to draw different sets/cards. Some artists have really distinctive styles. Like i have always loved the way McFarlane drew Spiderman. The artwork is always what grabbed me since i was young.
@FoiblesRips jim lee x-men is so dope. Such an iconic look. When you see it. You immediately know its jim Lee's artwork. That was such a great time in comics.
What I remember most is how each pack came packaged in that sick little box. It felt so premium!!! Prices now a days are just bonkers! Can't go ham... I gotta pace myself haha cheers thanks for watching!
@@Lastpacktears the mini boxes were such a nice touch, the whole product was premium. I never understood why they weren't as popular as the masterpieces series. I'd take 94 and 95 Flair over anything any day of the week
@@Lastpacktears awesome dude. yeah I'm in the process of framing the 150 card set to display. Just not sure how I want to go about it yet. I'm thinking one giant custom frame would be over kill and to break up with into 6 frames that hold 25 cards but that also might be a tad too much.. My only other option is to pull my favorite cards from the set and just frame them.. such a headache
@@TheLastSamurai813 I totally missed this.... you are FRAMING the 150 card set?! I would LOVE LOVE to see a pic when you are done. Sounds amazing! Yea some decisions to make as these could end up taking A LOT of space. Let me know what you decide on!
Watching some of your other videos after watching your wolverine rip. I opened 12 boxes of wolverine myself. I heard you mention you PC Professor X. I pulled a blue /181. Not sure if you do trades if interested. Thanks!
A 90 card base set with a total of 48 cards in a single box. So you would need to buy a minimum of three boxes and get lucky to get a full base set. I miss the days when a single box could get you a full base set and buying extra boxes for the chase cards.
I miss those days too. If memory serves me correctly, buying 1 box of Marvel Masterpieces 1992 would get you two full sets and maybe 10 or 15 "triples". And I think there were only 5 chase cards as well. I think nowadays, if you can find other collectors to trade with would really be of benefit. At the current price, I can't imagine being able to afford completing a base set without trading (or going broke in the process).
Can you sell these at all i mean isnt superhero card collecting kind of a lost cause investment wise, i wonder how they got thw prices for these its outrageous.
Yea you can sell em for sure.on FB groups or eBay they will sell. Marvel for me a lot is personal collection. The lower numbered cards if pulled help claw back the monies spent. As for the price of boxes.... Yea it's ridiculous!!
Yoooo just the one box! At $300 (cdn) in order to grab another I needed some of the cards to bring me some $$$ and yikes! I would love to rip more but the budget says no! lol July 3rd the Fleer Ultra Wolvy set launches. Since I PC X-Men I shoveled my funds that way. Are you ripping the Wolvy set?
@@Lastpacktears naww I can't afford this kinda luxury. And so I get my unboxing fix thru you =p Looking fwd to your fleer ultra Wolvie unboxing! Subbed so I'll catch it!
@@tstewart3034 On the back of the cards of Flair, they are calling out the artist along with a little bio of the artist which is nice. You will find the info on the base cards.
They are pricing these at such high prices without the value for the most part which is unfortunate. I really enjoyed Marvel Anime which is at a WAY lower price point. So hopefully there's a set out there you love which doesn't cost ridiculous amounts of money. I'm buying these cause I do love seeing the art and collecting X-men and of course feeding some of that ripping itch lol
The 14 parallel sets and the impossibility of completing even a base set is what killed it first. The exorbitant prices are just extra nails in the coffin.
This just reminded me of how much better the 1996 Marvel Masterpieces were lol.
Haha I've got '96 cards as well, its a great set for sure! I do totally welcome this set as well tho! Original art for base set and I think the artists did pretty awesome!
Absolutely mind blowing pricing. $22 per pack or $5.72 per card is insanity.
Lololol yuuppp insanity is right! It's such a tough pill to swallow at such a high box price.
Just let me open one more pack!!!! Please!!!!! One more rip baby!!!!! Give me that pack!!!!!!
These cards look great. No idea of value, ssp, or this checklist you mentioned but I think I’ll look to buy a box if I can find it.
