You can find me designing stencils for StencilGirl Products, teaching in person and online workshops and sharing the message of O.O.P.S. here on UA-cam and on the blog, aColorfulJourney.com
What does O.O.P.S. stand for? It stands for Outstanding Opportunities Presenting Suddenly.
Those “failures” and “mistakes” that we so harshly criticized ourselves about actually became true gifts as soon as you start saying O.O.P.S. Try saying Oops in an angry tone. It makes it even more silly!
I just can’t take myself seriously when I say Oops which is just what I needed to play. I began to play, to have fun, and to embrace all of my “mistakes”.

Love this tutorial Carolyn. Very intuitive and lively.
Love the look that this gives. Great video!
Thanks! It's such an easy way to get that weathered color look!
Love this! So happy you’re back! Hope you had a wonderful time off!
I Love It!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Cheryl!
The one with the hairbrush makes look like batik❣️. Love it💙
You have the most wonderful personality ❤
that would make a gorgeous wood print I imagine🤔🥰
Genius! Thank you for all your work and inspiration!
Love it, Carolyn. Great idea.
So happy to see you back! Now off to the $1.25 store to get a hairbrush.
You always have such clever ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Love this. I always get excited when i see you post a video.
This is genius!! I have to try it!! Love how it turned out!
Fun! I did it with a toothbrush that I trimmed flat. Worked great. :)
Welcome back, Inspirational as always ty, I can't wait to try this technique
Great technique! I’d like to try stenciling over it as well
As turning the paper 90 degrees to make a “plaid”. TFS
Such a cool technique.
I miss your post
Ohhh, i love the effect of the brush! How creative ❤ the colors are great also!
That was fun I have lots of brushes too so I’ll be trying this out. I have missed you it’s been awhile.
Fabulous!
Carolyn, Your videos are awesome. Love the prints, I print it out every
week . Thank you
I’m so glad you are back - I can’t wait to go play. I’m going to have to hunt for a hairbrush. I wonder what different bristle types will do - gel printing ahead to find out
Brilliant technique, what fun!!! thanks!
I’m off to find an old hairbrush😂 x
Cool! I'll have to buy a hair brush like that. Store it with the dryer vent tube I had to have!
Beautiful results!! Looks like weathered wood grain!! Now I have to go find a cheap hairbrush, because I’m not sacrificing my natural boar bristle brush!! 😍❤️🌈
Woodgrain, that's a great way to describe it! I suspect the cheaper the brush the better Nancy!
So wonderful! Thanks a lot, Carolyn! 🥰
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love it. So fun to use tools you already have around the house. Beautiful prints.
Another awesome technique. Would make great card backgrounds like with embossing folders and as someone noted stencils. Can’t wait to try! ❤❤
Very cool effect, and it's fun to see a video with no stencils! I suppose the brush bristles don't scratch the gel plate?
Could you mix colors to get a gradient or variegated effect? (Like half yellow, half blue on the brush?
I so love this pattern and I do have hairbrush that I really don't like, but I am afraid the brush would ruin my gel plate. 😇🩵🙏🙌
