- A group of Irish activists have stormed a Lidl supermarket in Dublin to add “boycott stickers” on Israel-made products.
“A Palestinian activist was assaulted by the manager and store security while peacefully stickering Israeli products for consumer attention,” Action for Palestine Ireland (@actionforpalireland) said in a statement.
Activists say they targeted Lupilu baby wipes products because they are “manufactured in settlements in occupied Palestine”, and Lidl, because its “parent company Schwarz group has made huge investments in Israeli tech companies and in 2021 acquired the cyber security startup XM Cyber”. #Gaza

This method of ignoring /withdrawing / isolating a company actually began in Ireland. It was named after a landlord representative, who was charging too much for rent, the locals finally had enough and decided to protest against these fees , by completely ignoring his presence in the town. No violence. Just withdrawal of acknowledging his deprival of his existence and his basic needs and wants.
This method of peaceful protest can be scaled up very effectively. People power. 💪.

no it's not punishable by law in ireland, since it is not tampering with the packaging or making it unsellable. if they are asked to leave and refuse then they may be charged with trespassing which may make yout subject o a class C fine, or up to 12 months in prison, or both.

Pretty sure the guy on the megaphone is from New Zealand, but still kudos for standing up to corporations who still do business with Israel. I'm sick of the double standards here. We were swift to boycott and sanction Russia for it's invasion of Ukraine, but fail to do so for decades of what Israel's doing to the Palestinians.
The economic boycott is one of the first steps provided for in the UN charter for any country who fails to comply with a ceasefire resolution. Therefore, the action of these citizens is completely legal.
