The craziest part is that this is the only sample on the entire album. For the rest of it, Inflo brought in a whole symphony and choirs/session singers, and then he chops and loops it to sound like samples. I know that this channel is about appreciating the art of sampling, but its good to remember how much creative amazing music can be made via other production methods as well.
How the fuck did Inflo even think of those techniques?!?! Dude is a master of the craft!

I thiiiink Kendrick did that? Or Kanye. I forgot, but some popular. But it was only like a couple times. Simz’s album is legendary.
@@mkat2325 Oh yeah Simz isn't the first rapper to feature live instrumentation in her production. Kanye's done it plenty but the most prominent example of that is Late Registration, as he collaborated with film composer Jon Brion. I can't think of any specific Kendrick songs rn that are backed by an orchestra on the studio recording but I'm sure he's done it too. The last song on Joey Badass's new album is all live instruments and its spectacular, it sounds like a Tiny Desk Concert. The opening song on Denzel Curry's new album was made by Robert Glasper, a jazz musician, and its amazing as well. I just think Inflo is unique because of his approach, cuz basically it's like he made his own samples. He composed and recorded an orchestral arrangements and then he chops them and whatnot. Like the song "I Love You, I Hate You", you would never ever guess that it isn't a sample.

Yea you are totally right btw inflo is a god. I already knew about the LR process but I wasn’t asking about that. I was talking about the technique making music, and treating like a sample, to make a rap song.
Kanye and John Mayer made a track for this gangster rapper (can’t remember who 😭) and they did that.
BUT! I remember the song, it was not at all as seamless and legendary as Simz’s and inflo’s. True GOATS.
Little Simz is possibly the best conscious rapper of the last few years, glad she got clearance to sample these tracks and still leave the original groove intact
