New Teamsport Preston Track - 50 Lap Race - 21/5/23

This is my view of the first 50 lap race at the newly reopened Preston track at Teamsport. A small change to the layout and electric karts made for an interesting (and very slippery) first visit back. Once the track rubbers in then the lap times should come down but it did make the race more challenging. I look froward to doing some members events in future when the karts will be at full power. Tried it Tuesday 23rd but only level 3 (Tokio drift meets Max Verstapin ice racing). 1st 2x15 minutes I felt devastated bouncing rear end off all the tyre
walls and wondering what am I doing plus met an out door karter and his daughter who hated it. So I took a break (plus bacon bap from barman Jake) to get my head around the whole idea and just get my mind together. "Thought this can't beat me" Went back on exclusive time with lad from Liverpool track and mastered it. Though not politically karting correct style totally different to driving petrol. My style don't touch the brakes, start turning in way before brain says to turn in and I left track planning another visit end of June. Only managed 41.44 seconds. (and didn't spin once). Been back and got it down to 37.8 sooooo another visit is onthe books next month.

I am a advance race academy driver at team sport Preston I have experienced a lot of contact but you guys had had loads of contact at the start

I think that’s just because the track had only opened 2 days prior and it was like driving on an ice rink haha!
