I known people that waited 85 years for the cubs to win. The parade was also one of the biggest gatherings of all time, I agree this was not under the radar st all
Luka sees a guy ground out once " He was definately not known for his hitting" Luka, the VERY BEST hitters in baseball only get a hit 3 out of 10 at bats, so you fail 7 out of every 10 at bats, even for the best hitters, so when it says he has a .230 batting average, it means he gets a hit 23 percent of the time, which is not that good, but it could be if he draws a lot of walks and hits for power but baseball stats are very very complicated
Dude you hit the nail on the head, if Luka ever wants to know baseball like that he'd have to live stream a Q&A about it. There is way too many ins and outs to the numbers of baseball to be explained in a couple hundred characters.
The cubs fans reactions to this win was incredible, there's several videos of that as well. Thinking about how GENERATIONS lived and died without ever seeing their team win, it was very emotional.

That game went so late my kids (2 and 5 years old) I had to wake them up to experience something multiple generations never had the opportunity to do. See the Cubs win a World Series. To understand how hard it is to be a Cubs fan, the acronym for CUBS has always been Completely Useless By September (Playoffs are in September) A moment in history I'll never forget.
@MetalCrow448 Some years the season is won or lost in September though. If anything, it shows how long they've been shitting the bed, the league has changed from that statement multiple generations prior.
I’m not a cubs fan by any means but I still get chills every time I see highlights of this game. Probably the best baseball game I’ve ever watched and the greatest baseball moment in recent memory
The thing that got me living in Chicago, was when they switched from the ending of the game to the local news. People were watching the game on their phones in the cemetery. They wanted to watch the game with their parents and grandparents who had never seen the Cubs win the World Series.
1:47 the big head in the crowd is Harry Carey, the announcer for WGN Cubs television. He was just as much a part of the team as any player. Very beloved. 4:50 The lovable losers. Might not win much, but, the Cubs have one of the most loyal fanbases of any team in any sport. 13:13 there is a runner on first base. Then the batter hits a HR. the runner on first counts as a run, and the batter himself counts. therefore, 2-run homer. 16:33 Bears are NFL, Cubs are the MLB Cheers, mate!
Luka. You touch home plate, you score a point. There is no “some times it’s 3 runs,” “some times in 2 runs” thing. Just like soccer - you kick the ball into the net, you score a point. You touch home, you score a point.
This was actually a big and well known moment unlike you thought. It was really important because of all the history and every baseball fan knows about it.
Cubs fan here - nice video! nice to see reactions out of those who aren't baseball fans. Anyways, I was in Chicago for this game. It was insane. It literally a life moment I'll never forget. Anytime someone says "ooooo my baseball team blah blah blah" I say "Yeah well you know what, I saw the Cubs win in Chicago, so everything else is okay. It's impossible to say in words how amazing this Moment in History was.
I've been a cubs fan for my entire life, I watched 100 games a year for 20 years before this moment. My grandfather lived his whole life as a cubs fan and died at 85 never seeing a world series win. When we recorded the final out of this game. I stared at the tv in shock surrounded by a dorm full of people yelling and screaming, and then I just broke down sobbing
The Cubs winning it all in 2016 was so massive, the parade drew the 7th largest gathering in human history (5 million). I was present of course. Go Cubs Go!
You need to watch a Javy Baez slide compilation. There is one on the Chicago Cubs UA-cam channel. You will be amazed. His nickname is El Mago, which is “The Magician” in Spanish. He’s truly an amazing ball player and his slides are out of this world.
This my friend is quite possibly the greatest baseball game ever played, it had everything drama excitement heart break everything was front and center here and honestly of my 10 years watching the game religiously it’s the single greatest game I’ve ever watched.
I have been a die hard Cubs fan since 1984, having lived thru excruciating moments from that season, and many others in the years afterwards. But when Bryant threw to Rizzo to record that final out, I just collapsed to the ground and sobbed tears of joy for a good 5 minutes after the game ended! And all I could think of was that I hoped somewhere in heaven, my late maternal grandparents, who were die hard Cubs fans for decades themselves, got to see and experience what we all did the night/morning of November 2nd/3rd 2016 (game ended after midnight Eastern Daylight Time)

Hey mate. I’ve been watching your vids for some time now and was hoping you’d get to this. I tell all of my non baseball friends to watch Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. It was, in short, magical in every sense. Glad you enjoyed it!
I heard that as part of the championship ceremony there were fans at the cubs stadium who were writing on the walls the names of loved ones who never lived to see this moment. 108 years. Pretty big deal man
Only thing I’d change about this video is you calling runs, “points.” In baseball, we call them runs. However, it gives lots of authenticity of someone learning a new sport. Loved this video. GO CUBS back again because I love the cubs @13:18 a homerun is hitting it over the fence. just that batter, its a solo homreun, 1 on base its a 2 run homer etc. Until its three runners on, which would be a Grand Slam (4 runs, one hit)
You should watch “David Bote’s Walk-off Grand Slam | A Breakdown” It is a video by the Chicago Cubs that breaks down a baseball players mind when they play. I think you will enjoy it!
I found your channel during you nascar videos and your channel is absolutely awesome!! Baseball is a cool sport with some pitches moving at over 100mph, and it’s amazing to think some of these teams play around 170ish games a year🔥
That was an unreal game to be at. I was working concessions with my college baseball team at the game and after the game tieing homerun in the 9th all concession stands closed and we got to watch the last inning
As a cubs fan this will be the best world series of my life and In Chicago's history nothing will ever come close even if the cubs take until 2124 to win again it won't compare. My family cried tears of joy when it happened
For future reference, when batting average is mentioned, .250 is about league average. If a player is batting in the .230s he's considered to be struggling, and if he's in the .270s, he's having a good year
“I feel like these kinds of stories go under the radar..” uhm no, no this one did not go under the radar.. at all lol. One of the biggest moments in all of sports
Many ironic ties with this game 1. The Cubs won their first World Series since 108 years ago. There are 108 stitches in a baseball 2. The Cavs came back from a 3-1 lead months prior, now the Indians blew a 3-1 lead. Both teams are in the same city. 3. I love Lavish Luka
Cubs are a team that people see in movies and such... Ferris Buller's Day off... Back to the Future Part 2... Blues Brothers (well, Wrigley Field anyway). It's obviously a very old team so it has quite a bit of history to it which often means people recall hearing about them who otherwise aren't baseball fans and it's one of those team names that are quite easy to remember since it's pretty unique. A running joke for a very long time was when you'd fly into Chicago, someone might look out the window at Wrigley Field (their stadium) and say, "Hey look, you can see the Cubs losing!"
React to 4 days in October! To this day the Boston Red Sox are the only team to comeback from a 3-0 deficit and go on to win the World Series.. breaking the 84 year curse of the Great Bambino.. MUST WATCH
You should watch a video about the Red Sox - Babe Ruth curse (curse of the Bambino)! They traded Ruth to their rival Yankees and didn’t win a World Series for over 86 years after that!
I'm a life long Cubs fan. I cry every time I see that last play. I grew up saying "waitlnextchear" (translation , Wait till next year) and effn Cubs. Alas, we're back to saying watlnextchear. Spring training's around the corner! Can't wait for baseball.
There's never been a year where all four of the major sports won a championship at the same time, but in recent years Boston and San Francisco have been deluged by championships. Since 2004 or so Boston teams have won like 15 championships split between the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. In San Fran the Giants and Warriors have also delivered, and they've had good runs from their football and hockey teams too.
22:55 in 1986 3 teams from NYC won it all. And also in 1940 something Detroit won 3. SNY has a really cool documentary on the 86 year. Worth a watch if you can find it. It’s called “3 teams one year” or something like that
I have two baseball recommendations for you: I am 25 and growing up, there were two superstars that had completely different styles of play. The first video I recommend is Tecknowkedgist's "Ichiro Suzuki - Infield Hit King (Part 1) - Rookie highlights. Ichiro is probably the greatest player from Japan in history. He played from 1992-2019 and his first year in America was 2001. He was very famous for his ability to defend and his ability to make contact. He didn't hit a lot of home runs, but he was well known for his ability to run so fast that he could beat a simple ground ball in the infield. This video features his infield hits in 2001. The second video I recommend is Andrew Vargha's "202 Barry Bonds Home Runs," particularly from around 6:21-21:50. Barry Bonds has more home runs than any other player in history. Though he probably used performance enhancing drugs during his best years, he was so feared as a hitter that he would frequently get intentionally walked during key situations. I remember you once reacted to him getting walked with the bases loaded. In 2001, Ichiro and Bonds were the MVPs for the American and National Leagues, respectively. They were two of the most exciting players of the early 2000s, but for completely different reasons. Bonds hit home runs constantly, and Ichiro was perhaps the best defender and the fastest runner. They were a huge part of my childhood growing up as a baseball fan.
Ah yes, the Chicago Bears vs the Cleveland Cavaliers, truly a match of epic proportions...

You should watch more about this 2016 World Series - this is truer one of the best moments in sporting history
I heard that as part of the championship ceremony there were fans at the cubs stadium who were writing on the walls the names of loved ones who never lived to see this moment. 108 years. Pretty big deal man
Thanks Bub. That was great, but be carefull - Baseball is addictive.
Only thing I’d change about this video is you calling runs, “points.” In baseball, we call them runs. However, it gives lots of authenticity of someone learning a new sport. Loved this video. GO CUBS
back again because I love the cubs @13:18 a homerun is hitting it over the fence. just that batter, its a solo homreun, 1 on base its a 2 run homer etc. Until its three runners on, which would be a Grand Slam (4 runs, one hit)
Runs - just like in cricket.
You should watch “David Bote’s Walk-off Grand Slam | A Breakdown” It is a video by the Chicago Cubs that breaks down a baseball players mind when they play. I think you will enjoy it!
That was such an amazing moment! I watch that sometimes just to smile 😊 His airplane run around the bases is so fun.
I was at that game as a Nats fan so it was kinda depressing for me
Let me say this game did not fly under the radar
I found your channel during you nascar videos and your channel is absolutely awesome!! Baseball is a cool sport with some pitches moving at over 100mph, and it’s amazing to think some of these teams play around 170ish games a year🔥
That was an unreal game to be at. I was working concessions with my college baseball team at the game and after the game tieing homerun in the 9th all concession stands closed and we got to watch the last inning
lol by the end of the video he was calling them the bears and the cavs
The reason you know about the Cubs is because their fans are some of the most passionate baseball fans of all time.
The Boston Red Sox broke a crazy curse as well👍
As a cubs fan this will be the best world series of my life and In Chicago's history nothing will ever come close even if the cubs take until 2124 to win again it won't compare. My family cried tears of joy when it happened
For future reference, when batting average is mentioned, .250 is about league average. If a player is batting in the .230s he's considered to be struggling, and if he's in the .270s, he's having a good year
Luka: Why do I know the cubs?
Literally every movie with baseball in it: CUBS!!!
Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs and Dodgers are probably the teams mentioned most in movies and TV series.
LETTTSSS GOOOO. waited for this video!
Usually the word GOAT in sports means "greatest of all time",,,,but for the Chicago Cubs it meant literally a cursed goat. LOL
Same city as MJ..
I like how he said that the guy at the end wasnt good at hitting like just because he didnt hit a bomb doesnt mean that hes not a good hitter
“I feel like these kinds of stories go under the radar..”
uhm no, no this one did not go under the radar.. at all lol. One of the biggest moments in all of sports
Many ironic ties with this game
1. The Cubs won their first World Series since 108 years ago. There are 108 stitches in a baseball
2. The Cavs came back from a 3-1 lead months prior, now the Indians blew a 3-1 lead. Both teams are in the same city.
3. I love Lavish Luka
YOOOOO i waited so long for this :)) thank u dude
This is a great video I'm glad you reacted
The Bears versus the Cavs. A classic baseball series.
As an Indians fan, this sent me into a depression for years. Still happening too.
I'm a life long Cubs fan. I cry every time I see that last play. I grew up saying "waitlnextchear" (translation , Wait till next year) and effn Cubs. Alas, we're back to saying watlnextchear. Spring training's around the corner! Can't wait for baseball.
I wanna say maybe Boston had the championship in Basball, Football and Hockey at the same time one year. Not sure though.
There's never been a year where all four of the major sports won a championship at the same time, but in recent years Boston and San Francisco have been deluged by championships. Since 2004 or so Boston teams have won like 15 championships split between the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. In San Fran the Giants and Warriors have also delivered, and they've had good runs from their football and hockey teams too.
i watched this series !!! Riveting !!! One of the best I'd seen until 2019
Finally!!! Go Cubs!!!
22:55 in 1986 3 teams from NYC won it all. And also in 1940 something Detroit won 3. SNY has a really cool documentary on the 86 year. Worth a watch if you can find it. It’s called “3 teams one year” or something like that
Giants, Mets, who was the third?
jasonfire34 rangers I think
Baseball Bits!!!
"Informative" is the word you were looking for at 13:50.
I have two baseball recommendations for you:
I am 25 and growing up, there were two superstars that had completely different styles of play.
